Really am hoping to win some tix to this, cause I'd love to spend my birthday with Primus, Public Enemy, Best Coast, Japandroids and Alt-J, but that's the only way I'm going at this rate.

I'm trying to grab a press pass for this one, but will try to swing it regardless. I've seen a lot of the names on the list, but Birdy Nam Nam and Flying Lotus would be PHENOMENAL
I ran into this guy last night after the ZPZ show in p'cola and he was handing out flyers for this. I asked about single day tickets and he said that they would be available....just wasn't sure exactly when. Possibly shortly after they announce the daily lineup on monday.
I am also pissed FlyLo and Primus are on friday. I bet they conflict too. Can't believe you've never seen Primus. You blew it last year by not going to their late night jazzfest show with Budos Band opening/joining in and Tony Clifton hosting.
I did blow it, guilty as charged.
Single day tickets available Tuesday after dailies are announced. Gunna ask work if I'll have to work that Saturday.

Just put in a request to have Saturday off at work. If I get it, I'm thinking about just buying a two day pass and driving over to NOLA after work, since I get off at 5pm. I should still be able to catch a nice chunk of the Friday fest since it runs so late (3am).
Plenty of acts I'd love to see. I'm crossing my fingers that FlyLo is high enough on the schedule that I'll be able to catch him, definitely my #1 priority of the weekend.
$80 = friday only. I haven't seen him yet. I want to just because his new album rules. I haven't even looked into any videos of him live that so that's disappointing to hear.

I hate to say this but after seeing the SNL performance I realized that so much of what makes his album so addictive is the production. All the vocal effects and layered vocals and everything. I think he is an amazing lyricist (my new year's resolution is to stop all the pollutin talk to quacking much i got my drink i got my music), don't get me wrong, but on SNL his vocals were straight up with no effects, which I respect and everything, but it really took a lot of the oomph out of the music.
Not everybody can do that shiz raw like The Roots. But I have a feeling I'll be right up in there during maad city hollering "you killed my cousin back in '94 quack yo truce" as loud as I can.
Looks like I will be going thanks to a friend with an extra early bird ticket to spare! This should help me keep my mind off of anxiously waiting for Hangout Fest to drop the rest of their lineup.
I think they prob scheduled the conflicts because there is no part of Mardi Gras World that can handle having every fan there at the same time.
So what are we doing, leaving about 3pm? Leaving after Break Science if all the other stuff is lame? Would like to check out Totally Extinct Dinosaurs.
