I think that's a pretty fair list. I'm partial to Being There - I still remember the first time hearing Misunderstood on my stereo - but they have come out with some pretty incredible albums since those early days. SummerTeeth and YHF among them.
Actually, for those new to Wilco here is a great writeup Garageland made back in 2009. Has a lot of good live youtube tracks from every album up to the last two.

To be clear, that was a list of how I would recommend someone get into the modern incarnation of the band. Not necessarily which albums I think are best. i love Being There and AM.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction here! Pretty great write up!

Correct. That would be a perfect setup, and I'd love to see it, but I think they'll give Wilco a different slot this time. Since they're not a headliner, I guess the only possible "upgraded" spot is late night?

That's why I hope they open for Paul because these conflicts are going to suck no matter what. Rather not skip around LN sets, especially want to get a good spot for that jam sesh.
