Really? Which stage pre-headliner? Seems sorta like a demotion from What stage Pre-headliner.
I have been thinking they either pre-headline the What stage again or get a late night spot for like 3 or more hours.
I meant What Stage. The main stage. I am not in a relaxed mode since I am still at work.
*edit- I don't see them getting a late night on the Which if Bjork is playing late night. I see Pretty Lights getting the other slot. I wou;d be down for a late night, just not in a tent.

This is probably a dumb question, but everybody likes Wilco, right? Like, everybody?
I've not listened to them much until the lineup dropped, and they don't have a bad song. Something about Tweedy's songwriting can't help but make me smile.

Exactly right! They are a great live band as well. Nels is a phenomenal guitarist and Jeff Tweedy is the consummate front man.
I am hoping they get a longish set and play from deep in their catalog. I saw them 2 year's ago at the Fox Atlanta. "An Evening with Wilco" with no opening band, They played for 3+ hours and it was an amazing show. Their "The Whole Love" show in Atlanta did not have the same energy. Might have been the venue or the crowd, but it wasn't nearly as good as the Fox show.

There are actually a good bit of board members who dislike them. I could list 7 without even thinking about it. One of them is a mod and clearly insane.
I'm in the "hope they get a late night Which" camp. It would be awesome.

Yup. There it is. The catalyst to through me deep into wilco discovery mode. Love YHF, but it's basically all I've heard of them album-wise. As I understand it, Summerteeth should be my next stop, correct?

Summerteeth for sure. I also think you should check out either Kicking Television or Ashes of American Flags. Those are two official live album releases and you can discover studio albums backwards. Like if there are any songs you like on the live albums you can look up what album they are on and check that album out.

The Late Great is fantastic, such an underrated tune! I second the Ashes of American Flags recommendation, that particular version of Impossible Germany is even more astounding than it normally is live! OPening for Macca would make a perfect Friday even better.

Some live Summerteeth

Thanks fellas. Like I said, I've spent a solid 2-3 weeks with YHF on frequent rotation, feel comfortable knowing the songs well, and really able to get lost in it and enjoying it in full. I've got the thirst now, I think the live albums are just what i need to rotate around with Summerteeth. Thanks again.
We're gonna need to see that tracklist at some point @superfurryanimal

Summerteeth was for some strange reason the last Wilco album I got into, years after knowing and loving everything else that they'd done. It's now my favorite of theirs. That triple combo of Pieholden Suite/How To Fight Loneliness/Via Chicago is just pure love and a great tracklisting choice.

I almost started a new thread to show the love for Wilco but decided to just keep this one alive. I had a friend in college who was big into Wilco (Being There Period) and I would always give him shiz that they were boring and slow. Years later I stated giving them a more thorough listen and to this day I don't know what I was thinking. Wilco isn't a band you are going to get into on a first listen. They are much more complex then that. There are so many layers to their songs. They can go from being super delicate one moment, then completely rage the next. Anyone who isn't into them now, should really try giving them a chance and certainly check them out at Bonnaroo. Their live show is fantastic and you rarely get to see musicianship like that live.
I lived in Chicago from 2007-2011 and caught a ton of Wilco/Jeff Tweedy shows during my time there. I ran into several members of the band while being out and about and they are all great guys. Jeff is one of the greatest songwriters alive today and it would be a shame for anyone who hasn't seen him live, to miss this opportunity at Roo.
If you think they are slow and boring, give these tracks a listen. Don't bail out, I promise you will be a fan in due time:
* Casino Queen * Side With The Seeds * Handshake D#$gs * Kingpin * Impossible Germany * Heavy Metal Drummer * Shot In The Arm * At Least That's What You Said * Spiders (Kidsmoke) * You Are My Face * Can't Stand It * I'm The Man Who Loves You * Art Of Almost * Bull Black Nova * The Late Greats * I Got You (At The End Of The Century) * Outtasite (Outta Mind) * Outta Mind (Outta Sight) * I Am Trying To Break Your Heart
