Hmm...as much as it sounds like the three lines go together, I think there must be some double meanings happening here. If you just take them all together, there's not enough to go on, in my mind. Not when the other clues have all seemed to be three separate "hints" strung together.
And if we're going to look for an extra bit of meaning somewhere, I would bet "prestige" is one of the significant words. I'm thinking we need someone who fits the more straightforward interpretation of the three lines put together but who also has a separate tie to the word "prestige" (and/or to some other aspect of the clue).
On a completely unrelated note, this clue makes me ESPECIALLY glad that nobody can guess Radiohead this year!
I agree.
I'm going to go ahead and get this out of the way. Yes, David Bowie was in the movie The Prestige. NO, the answer isn't Bowie. Carry on.
Oh I figured it out, it's the Rolling Stones. We waited eleven months for Coachella's lineup to drop and The Rolling Stones were the first band to publicly deny they were playing the festival. SOLVED.
I like the way you think.
You both must be right. 11 months wait for the coachella lineup... And the stones rejected playing the gig.... Also: red ROCKS... STONES?!?! I hope!

Not sure if it was hit on but the first line reads 'Eleven Months Wait' and not 'eleven month wait' small difference, but kind of changes it a good bit.

I'm not sure I'd worry about such minor details at this point - unless I'm missing something, we haven't actually seen a photo of the poster, have we? We could have some of the minor details wrong.

Is the first rejected the month left out of the 11 waiting? Is it January thats left out as the first therefore Feb- Dec are waiting? Or out off 11 months that are waiting, is one of them not chosen to enter the prestige right away? And WTF is the prestige? I like the HOF reference but that would be headliner talk and they typically dont do that with clues. Red Rocks? Everyone plays that venue not really a hint. Mumford makes sum sense with the DVD and grammy connection ill go with them to ease my frustration.

Hmm, the idea of it being the months themselves that are waiting to enter the prestige is interesting - eleven waiting and one rejected does add up rather conveniently. If it were something along those lines I suppose the "first" would pretty much have to be January...so like Roo'adelphia said, either January is rejected and therefore not entering the prestige, or January rejected the prestige itself. Er...yeah, I can't make that mean anything, but I like that way of thinking! I wonder...

Nahh, no mistakes, I made sure of that when I was posting it haha. I tweeted a pic to bonnaroo but they never bothered retweeting it.

Not really. Many of the recent HoF inductees to play Bonnaroo haven't been headliners. Dr. John, Alice Cooper, etc. Honestly, of this year's 15 Hall nominees, only two could headline Bonnaroo, N.W.A (or more likely just Dre) and Rush. Rush is in, so they wouldn't be "the first rejected". As far as I know, the only one of the 15 who were first time eligibles was N.W.A. I can't connect the rest of the clue to Dre or Cube, though.

Seems to me we would need someone who WASN'T a first time eligible...someone who was eligible last year but didn't make it until this year, i.e. rejected the first time. Although there weren't 11 months between the last two inductions, so I guess that doesn't work anyway.

Well, my thought was that a band becomes eligible based on the year they first released music, no matter what month they released music in that year. So the first timers would have become eligible in January 2012, but the inductees weren't announced until December 2012, so they'd have waited 11 months to be rejected. Of course, I don't know how you'd determine who of the ones who didn't get in would be "the first" rejected since they all got rejected at the same time.
Anyway, it's not a great list to choose from. A lot of them are dead or inactive. Of the non-inductees, the only semi-realistic ones I see are Joan Jett, some member of N.W.A., possibly Deep Purple I guess, or on the WAY outside likelihood, Kraftwerk. I don't think Bonnaroo's going to be booking Chic or The Marvelettes.

I stole all this from a post on the Facebook page, but it sums up the Mumford argument nicely. I really think Bonnaroo is playing bad cop/ good cop with inforoo this year. These clues are still for the board and the hardcore fans.
Between it being at Red Rocks and the Road to Red Rocks release, and the whole story of Babel/Babylon and religious prestige/entry into heaven in that story, and Sigh No More being rejected at the Grammys based on when it came out and having a huge presence at this Grammys 11 months later....still kind of thinking Mumford. But bigger acts don't tend to get Roo Clues so I could be ALL KINDS of wrong on that.
Haha, that was me that posted it on Facebook...and on here a few pages back. Makes sense with both of the albums and the location of the clue which has been important for the other location-specific clues. But we'll see.
I think they're a good fit for Bonnaroo this year since they'll be finishing up a UK/NZ/Australia tour and have said they'll be touring through September but nothing has been announced yet.

These clues... yikes. They usually only release 10 or so, right? So #10 will be next week, then... LINEUP DROP the week after
Anyway, I know they don't reference headliners for clues, but... Mumford & Sons makes almost too much sense. Maybe The Decemberists? Though I have no idea how the last line would tie in. Bah.
Every Tuesday and Thursday clues come out. We're on track for 14 clues maybe. Line up drop is likely to be Feb 12 (2nd Tuesday of Feb). Tickets should be on sale the following Saturday.

That's if trends continue
Ahh, didn't realize that was the clue pattern this year, whoops. How many were there last year? I feel like it was 11... perhaps they will surprise us early (although I highly doubt that as the lineup drop is consistent every year)
top line=december (11 months from now) middle line=decembrist revolt was about taking over the throne (prestige) bottom line= decembrist revolt was against nicholas the first (first rejected)
I mean, if Coachella gets Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and Grinderman one off shows, it's not totally implausible that Roo could get a Decemberists one off.
It just feels too easy an answer for a Roo clue.
