Reasoning: The meaning of the clue seemed pretty obvious... the only hard part was doing a little online research. The "prestige" is obviously the Rock Hall of Fame. The "rejection" is a nominee that wasn't inducted on their first attempt, but was accepted the next year/next time they were nominated.
I only did a quick analysis of the past 3 years (http://rockhall.com is a clusterfuck). Someone could dive really deep and tally up every band that had already been nominated once, before they were accepted the 2nd time. I was too lazy. I'm sure there are a few bands that could qualify from years past.
It turns out that HEART was nominated in 2012, but didn't get in until 2013----

Good work on figuring out the Rock Hall stuff...I thought about trying it but like you said, their website is such a pain for trying to figure that stuff out.
Is there any logical meaning of the first line if Heart is the answer, though? I don't know much about them...
They only go back to 2008, which is a shame. However, I don't see any announcements that were 11 months apart. Most of them were announced about 12 months apart, aside from one pair that was 14 months apart.
Can anyone point to a site that has archives of dates, nominees and inductees dating to before 2008?

It is definitely Foals. Per their wikipedia page, the band rejected the first mix of their album Antidotes.
"the band decided to mix the album themselves, stating that Sitek made the first master copy of the album sound like "it was recorded in the Grand Canyon".[3] Yannis has stated multiple times during various interviews that Foals and Dave Sitek are on good terms, even though the copy by Sitek was rejected by the band"
That along with the eleven months is enough to seal it up.
