I love everything about this video. From the dude growling in the background, to "I love you random person" to "instrumental" to "I wish my band had a seamstress" to "now she's in me - how does that work?" to "I'm playing my nipples." Makes me really wish I had done the Coachella cruise just for that.
Nah it was just the Coachella Cruise and FJM was literally everywhere on the cruise. I was in a mosh pit with him during the Black Lips, also Grimes was in the pit too. He was legit everywhere. One of the best experiences of my life.... besides Roo.

abrakapokus and I went to his show last night in Knoxville. I really can't recommend seeing this show enough. He is definitely one of those performers that was just meant to be a front man. In addition, he complained about having a sinus infection during the show, but he still sounded great. Abra remarked on the way home how the vocals had no drop off from the album to the live setting, and the instrumentation on some songs, especially Hollywood Forever, have changed since the album and work much better live.
Lastly, this is the backdrop for the stage. If you understand his sense of humor, this is the greatest thing ever.

I almost forgot a couple things.
1) He has been playing the heck out of a cover of "Happiness Is A Warm Gun" on this tour. 2) We had front row seats. It was amazing. 3) He ill-advisedly did a question/comment period from the audience in between two songs. The ones I remember are: What's your middle name? Michael How do you makes your hips move like that? It's a combination of complete apathy and complete stupidity. Can we see your p*nis? No What's with the tiger? (He had a stuffed tiger on one of the speaker stacks) It protects my weenie, so people don't make me show it to them. When will there be a new album? was interrupted by... How big is your d*ck? *shakes head* that's the end of the question and comment period. I am glad to see so many thoughtful questions come out of it. I think I am going to do this every night since the beta test went so well. My shareholders are going to be pleased by the results. What's that Kierkegaard quote about there being no truth in a mob? I feel a lot like that right now.
Dave is correct. The show last night in Knoxville was extra super wonderful. I am not very familiar with his work and loved it from the first second, so those who are worried that they don't know enough of his stuff will be pleased at Bonnaroo or wherever you're lucky enough to see he and his band. If he was really sick, I can't imagine how live he would be when he's not under the weather. He's hilarious too. It was like seeing Steve Martin in between songs. When I first poked my head in to see if he was on yet, he was laying on the stage face down with his legs hanging off the stage a little, singing like a bird. Then I knew it was going to be fun. I bet we know each other Maynar. If not, we should. You ever read BLANK?

I saw him in Atlanta on Saturday and it was freaking AWESOME. Everything Dave Maynar said is accurate. Songs were great live and he absolutely MURDERED Happiness Is A Warm Gun. I just can't get over how incredible of an entertainer he is. At any given moment he was slinking around the stage, doing some insane gymnastics with the mic stand or laying on the crowd, all while singing his face off. At one point he grabbed a cell phone from someone taking a picture of him and took a selfie, all while singing.
Oh and you can buy his stage backdrop as a poster.
