Abra's video and the hipster dog meme on the last page reminded me. In addition to his talk with God at the end of the video, he continued the chat earlier asking God why he had been forsaken with the terrible sinus infection and asked "I was in Fleet Foxes. Doesn't that count for something?"
I'm currently listening to FJM and dancing like a wild hippy at work.
I kind of forgot about this album amidst all of the other Bonnaroo listening I've been doing. That was wrong.
At least you corrected this error before the festival, rather than after. That's always heartbreaking...and nearly inevitable.
There are SO MANY acts that I get into and then find out they were at Roo and I just didn't know about them/skipped them for someone else. I'm still mad about the Wilco and MMJ shows I've passed up before 2008.

I made this mistake with Dawes last year. Now, as I listen to the new album over and over again, I refuse to make the same mistake. I seriously can't even count how many times I've gone over this lineup.

ouch...
At least I've only got one year of sleep-depriving regrets under my belt.

It's even worse when you realize you skipped something phenomenal for some flavor of the month crap you followed your friends/boyfriend/etc to, UGH.
I know he's on at the same time as Japandroids, and right before Alt-J, but if you don't catch this show some time this year you're making a huge mistake. He was genuinely brilliant. Sounded great, clever banter throughout, best audience interaction I've ever seen, his lead guitarist is incredibly talented, and killer dance moves to boot. If you're trying to make up your mind between FJM and Japandroids (or Paper Diamond) and you haven't seen FJM, do yourself a favor and go see FJM.
I really hate this conflicts with Japandroids. I've seen Japandroids before, but I love them and kind of just want to rock out. What do I do?!?!
If you plan on seeing Alt-J I'd say go to Japandroids. This is a tough conflict for me as well, but I'm choosing Father John Misty. Can't miss this show.

Hahaha, I was just about to post how good this guy's Twitter account is. He's had me rolling with laughter all weekend. The "This food festival is incredible" tweet was classic.
Saw him this weekend at Maxwell's in Hoboken. Small venue. Maybe 150 people max. He played an acoustic solo set and it was just perfect. His voice was stellar live, appreciated it even more being so close. Entertaining crowd banter, very funny. He even let people from the audience come and sit on stage with him while he performed.
Originally I bought these tickets to possibly alleviate conflicts, but all this did was guarantee that I will be at his show come Thursday at Roo, and most likely again when he returns to NY this summer.
I tore my calf muscle on my way to the FJM show at 9:30 and was crying more about missing the show than the pain in my leg. Luckily I saw a friend who had 2 VIP tickets she didn't want to use so she could get closer to the stage and bask in FJM's fabulousness so I was able to hobble up to the balcony with dcbee, put up my leg, drown the pain in a few cocktails and enjoy the show. May have set back my healing a bit by not heading straight home and putting up my leg but heck, it was FATHER JOHN MISTY! And it was oh so very worth it...

Glad to see I am not the only one whose conflict alleviating plans blew up in their face.

Same here.
"Oh great, now I can see Japandroids!"
-one song into the show-
"Sorry Japandroids..."
Yep! Saw both at Coachella, and while Japandroids put on a great high energy show...FJM was ultimately more entertaining. Wasn't even up for debate for me once the schedule came out.
