So at my show he told everyone he'd be taking us all out to the 5* restaurant in town and eating us for dinner. Then he tried to play his guitar with a spork he found on the stage. Oh yeah, the songs were awesome as well.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I have three chances to see FJM this summer (Coachella, May 15 at Chapel Hill, and Bonnaroo), and I'm gonna try to see him all three times. That album has really grown on me and all I hear are glowing reviews about his live band.

I love the talk in between the two pairs of songs especially when he said he had a funny, in a devastating way, realization during the last J. Tillman tour that the banter between songs was going over "infinitely better" than the actual songs.

I bought the album off the resounding reviews in the "Best of 2012" thread and really liked it. It didn't make full rotation, but i was jamming it at work at least once a week.
Out of left field, I get an email from the little 500 capacity hall that they had booked FJM for a show 2 1/2 weeks out. Rare for them, as they generally book 2-3 months out. Grabbed them the minute they went on sale, and good thing because it ended up selling out.
Review: Every good song on the disc is AWESOME live, the great songs are INCREDIBLE live. I was completely blown away. Their sound explodes live, incredible depth and layering, and his voice was fantastic. One of the best "find" shows I've had in ages. If you have a chance to see them locally, the "I'll just see him on the farm" excuse does not hold water in this instance.

I wanted to chat him up after the show (one of the joys of the Beachland Ballroom), but the GF, who happens to be musically challenged, had to leave during the finale to beat traffic.

I haven't actually listened to this whole album, but I LOVE I'm Writing A Novel. That song hooked me from the first line on the first listen. So random and fun, and ironically made me think of Roo immediately. Damn Canadian shamen.
Guess I better get to checking the rest of his stuff out. And he obviously is perfect for Roo.

I was just turned on to the latest album and it is fantastic. I see that he is playing Louisville the Wednesday before Bonnaroo, so that would be a great kick off party on the way to TN.
Here's the setlist from his show I caught in Louisville:
Funtimes In Babylon Only Son Of The Ladiesman Nancy From Now On I'm Writing A Novel Misty's Nightmares 1 & 2 This Is Sally Hatchet Well, You Can Do It Without Me Now I'm Learning To Love The War Tee Pees 1-12 Everyman Needs A Companion Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings
Encore: Nevertheless, I'm In Love With You (Dean Martin cover) On The Road Again
It seems to me there should be an Inforoo meetup for his set on the farm
