Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Pre-show spots are officially full. I hope most or all of you are Facebook people. We're updating the Facebook group there more frequently.
If you're not into Facebook, you might not have seen my recent post saying we can start using the Google Doc again. Anyone that has gotten access in the past can still view it, but anyone that didn't get access before, shoot me a private message with your Google email that I can add. It'll help you work out rideshares, see who lives near you, see who's in your C'roo, etc.
Since it looked like I would be traveling solo again this year, I decided to volunteer! Applied and paid my deposit this afternoon and I've been assigned to Festival Activities.
does anyone know if doing clean vibes qualifies you for pre-show the following year? i'm assuming not since clean vibes is it's own thing, but i'm debating the morning shifts of clean vibes vs. pre-show opportunities for the future. i lucked out at okeechobee and got artist relations/hospitality which was one of the coolest experiences ever.

Yes, you can do pre-show with either C'roo OR Clean Vibes your first year.
We have a Facebook group too that's more active than here: www.facebook.com/groups/581925741840980/ Feel free to join if you have Facebook and aren't already on there.

Same here. I'm doing pre-show for the first time too. (Logistics and Setup) Last year was my first time coming in on Sunday (as a GuRoo) but this time I'll have all my shifts done before music for once. It'll be a nice, welcome change, for sure.
A couple friends and I (mostly from the DC area) are open to have others join our group. We're leaving Saturday morning, staying in a hotel, and checking in on Sunday for prefest (and probably visiting Fall Creek Falls). Message me if you're passing through/nearby and interested in joining us! (caravan or carpool)
Anyone not on Facebook that wants access to the volunteers Google doc?
Also, if anyone has been putting off applying for a Festival C'roo, do it VERY soon. Applications are only being taken for 2 Festival C'roos (and Clean Vibes)
If any of you aren't on Facebook/the Facebook group (www.facebook.com/groups/581925741840980/), I wanted to let you know that we made a new website for volunteers to exchange info. It'll help with ridesharing, seeing others in your area or your C'roo, and seeing what past shift times were for Croos in the past.
2017 Festival C'roo descriptions coming soon. Some changes, including no GuRoo positions anymore.
However, there are NO deposits or application fees required for Festival C'roo anymore!!
Maybe I'm being a little dense, but how are they not just giving away free tickets if they don't collect a deposit?
What stops someone from signing up, getting a ticket, and then never doing their shifts? Obviously they won't be able to do that again the following year since they have their names, but that doesn't stop them from enjoying the fest for free this year.
Are ticket sales so bad that they can't even fill the volunteer positions any more?

That's a completely legitimate question. It's possible they'll put more effort into deactivating wristbands and paying attention more at all entrances (public and backstage), but yes. In the end, it seems risky for them, and maybe they'll change back the following year if it doesn't work and too many people bail. This may be a way to lure in more volunteers or give them a year off to work out a smoother way to deal with deposits/refunds or something like that. I'm not sure. All they've told us so far is that they'll be in contact more frequently to get confirmations that everyone is coming.

I forgot they could deactivate wrist bands mid-fest, that's a good point.
Wonder how strict they'll be before they deactivate (if that's what they do this year). Miss one shift, and you're done, or a little more lenient. Could be a recipe for disaster if they don't have a good shift attendance reporting procedure set in place. Someone who was actually working, gets erroneously marked as AWOL and then is deactivated, etc.
I have a question i have been to 3 bonnaroo festivals so far and would like to volunteer this year I am however mobility impaired screws and pins and wires in my ankle had it rebuilt awhile ago crush impact injury and I use a cane and have to rest at times is it possible for someone like myself to volunteer for croo like ADA access help?
emorency- The website states that you can volunteer with a health issue. Many of the vol positions involve sitting and answering questions, or watching entrance points. Last year there were volunteers in the ADA tent for long hours, so if you are camping there and want to work ADA, there is a place on the vol application to fill in with health issues so I'm sure they can match you to the perfect job. Hope you come!

Actually, Access is no longer a volunteering C'roo this year. They do ask for disability info in the app though, and you can try to read up on some C'roo descriptions and feedback on the Facebook group to see what was more of a sitting type job. Things like working at the Silent Auction or Info booths or something may work.
Applications are temporarily closed at the moment. Today was the first day new volunteers could apply, and they got bombarded with apps. Wow! Hopefully they can squeeze in more once they go through them all.
I just got assigned info/pods. This will be my first time volunteering. I was on staff last year and only saw Saturday night and Sunday shows but I was exhausted from working 60 hours before I had time to relax. Did volunteers camp in pod 1 this past year?

Mostly, yes. Main volunteer camp is in POD 1, but some POD volunteers will be at their specific POD and Tollbooth West/Highway volunteers will be in a separate volunteer camp near the West Tollbooths. If you're not assigned to a specific POD, then you can camp with the rest of us in main volunteer camp.
Last year was nice the way only vols were in pod one and we got to move waaaaay closer to the venue and even had some afternoon shade! Wast that only because attendance was down? I wonder if that will happen this year also?

Why would they send an email confirmation welcoming you to the C'Roo stating you'll have your assignment in 72 hours & 2 days later send an email stating sorry you're not part of the C'Roo now?

I guess they just completely underestimated how fast it would add up and didn't have the closing automated. I assume they went it manually and closed it after they realized how many apps they had and it was already well past the limit. Maybe they were focusing on assigning C'roos and not realizing how high volume it was. The amount of applications in one day has been much greater than anticipated with this being the first year they went without deposits/fees.

I have no idea. I'm guessing with lower attendance they'll do the same, but I really hope they have a food vendor or 2, an ice truck, and the flush (and more regular) portos if it's still just volunteers and vendors out there. We filled most of that area still. I felt left out without a real POD there last year.
Heads up, vols...the next e-mail confirmation thingie has been sent out, you must send in your t-shirt size before the end of the month or you might lose your spot...
Everything except Clean Vibes supposedly filled within 18 minutes of opening applications. For us returning vols who signed up Feb 19, the pre-show slots filled up in less than 5 minutes!
