So excited!
Only 9 more days of work! yayayayayay
Jealous. I have to make it through comprehensive examinations for graduate school first. Given that I've been studying for the past month, I can't remember the last time I had fun; on the bright side, I can't imagine a better way to celebrate than with NFF and QC.

WHOW! It's that close?!? Let's see... I only have one more day of work this week because it's Camp Bisco, sooooo.. 10 for me (you win!). Though next Friday is a half day and I am leaving early on the Thursday of NFF, too.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Will be PMing a few specific questions here and there...
Here's what I have gleaned from responses and the NFF thread in terms of back and forths to newport.
After shows are: Friday: GBK and ITM - Deer Tick (GBK has parking pass) Saturday: Katy Did and ILTGame - Dawes GBK - Deer Tick (has parking pass) Sunday: Katy Did, K2b, and GBK have tickets, K2's plus one and ITM are looking for tickets (GBK has parking pass)
All please let me know if this is correct or needs changing.
Did anyone else not part of the night show crowd get NFF parking passes?
After looking over the who's coming list and night shows, it looks MINUS the Night show peeps- we could all move back in forth with one 15 passenger van (same as last year) and 1 car (mine).
Before I check on getting a van, we would need three volunteers to be the van designated driver - 1 fri, 1 sat, 1 sun. Quacker would be one of the three.
The van would leave the house at a set time each day, no exceptions. Straight to NFF - no stops, bring a cup. If you're not on it, and have not made plans ahead to go in (prob a little bit later) with me, than you are on your own. Folks going to late night are on their own.
It is a lot of fun traveling together.. otherwise we break it up into many cars and pay a good portion of the van cost on parking fees. Have checked the NFF budget and this can be done if ya like. This is contingent on whaddayathink - van or everyone on their own (except the flyers)? and if we can pick up early Friday am and would need to get it back Monday morning.

Thoughts??
Yesssssss. Awesome! I would be super happy to help pick up and drop off vans and help with the cost.
I was prepared to DD all weekend so will volunteer to drive as well (Friday would be my first preference, but will do any day). Bunny Rule: No shushing allowed if I'm driving.
Sarah Jarosz is @ 11:00 AM on Saturday though, and if it looks like the van's not rolling out with sufficient time to make her set I'll drive myself. One of my will-not-miss shows this year. I have a huge girl crush on her. (The guys are bad either, haha.)
Thanks Bunny! Lets hear from some more. Would like a group decision. I know SJ is a must see for Quacker too. If we do the van we will align the van with the earliest show that the majority want to see, which will prob. be the first show. (I had typed a comment about no shooshing to then deleted it. ) The upside to the van is ya'll can watch Bonz make love to her vagina vodka, lots of laughs, reasonable lack of concerns for the riders, and entertainment value when waiting to get out of NFF. Plan ahead- pack well.
The responsible side is we MUST get it cleaned out, cleaned up (vacuumed), fabreezed, and back Monday am. Quacker and I are happy to pick up the rental cost if we can get enough folks to PROMISE to be DD's and make sure we get it cleaned and back on time. Trust me.. this is a hard task on Monday am. I'd offer to take a DD day myself unfortunately still healing the broken foot and not yet clear when I'll be ok to drive. Know with me taking the car in that I have my TLC sidekick that can drive the santa fe if needed. Don't like having to ask ya'll for help with this part however it is my reality right now and just have to roll with it. I WILL be boot free for the love of my life's 60th birthday in August!
I am west of the bay - as is TF Green Airport (PVD), while QC is east of the bay. So depending on timing I can pick people up there and drop people off on Monday.
I am down for DD'ing on Friday or Saturday. Although, Milk Carton Kids are a must for me on Friday.
Sunday I will probably head in separately or with the group that will be staying for the after party.
Assuming that I don't need to head out on Sunday night right after the fest (we're still finalizing our test/work schedules), I am also 100% capable of lending a hand to get the vehicle cleaned. Cleaning a van after NFF/QC can not be as bad as cleaning an RV after Bonnaroo, can it?

Awesome! I'll give them a call today to validate I can get an early pick up on Friday.
Um... yes, yes it can be as bad, just on a smaller scale. Last year it POURED Saturday aft/night. Everyone got soaked. By Monday the vans smelled like wet dog.
When reading through Fawn's first post, I was going to offer to bring duck tape for myself, but if there's no shushing, I'M FREEEEEE!! Freeeee as the winnnnddd bloowssss

I'd looove me some SJ, too! I missed her at Roo last year and would LOVE to catch her (I think she opened a tent on Sunday?). But she is really early so it would be hard... but my vote is make it happen. If we make people shower and get dressed right away instead of sitting around with coffee/beer/bacon/corn/mimosas for hours.. we CAN make it happen, I think?

I blame the rain!
Note to riders: Plan your seating well. If you sit in front of me.. well... you're fair game. danbird found that out the hard way. (Sorry, Dan!)

We have our three DDs =, right? Quacker, Bunny and k2b? I am willing to throw funds towards this and some elbow grease Sunday night. I can't guarantee to remember on my own, but if someone nudges me, I'll totally do some cleaning right away. Another thought is maybe we should throw a bag of trash bags in the van? If the storms clouds open up like last year, we can cover seats and such in plastic to minimize wetdogness? OR we can all pull a Bonzai, strip down and wrap ourselves in dry tapestries. I totally did NOT contribute much to that wetdogness
But yes to a van! Seriously. Whatever is needed to make this happen, I'm down (Funds, cooperation, cleaning...). I can bring a lasso and drag people to the van? Especially if it's a cute boy
I am a pretty on time person (I actually get quite anxious if more than five minutes late for something), so I can help rally troops. And like Fawn said- we can set official leave times. If you're not in the van by a certain time, you're finding your own way in. Your own fault!

I'm in for a van - I'll help with funds, cleaning, etc. Also, I fly into Providence at 4:25 on Thursday and out at 3:50 on Monday. Not sure if LD can pick me up on the way in? (I know my departure may be a little late). It'll be here before we know it!

I can pick you up on Thursday if LD can't. I can't help out with Monday because I'm trying to get out of RI by 9ish and try to get into work for most of the day.

A
Only thing to edit on my end is that I only have parking passes for Saturday and Sunday, not Friday. Will be happy to buy it there though.
Fawn, I will have Van duty one day, meaning I will DD to the fest and back and will be responsible for cleaning the Van at the end of the day, which just means I will be responsible for finding someone(s) to clean the van. Also, I want to be at Fort Adams before 11am, so I will be leaving on the pre set time, and will not be afraid to leave a late comer at the house to find their own ride. Shushing? what is that, either way, say what you want on my ride, just empty the bladder before you get on or learn to void into a bottle, while riding in the back of a van. Also, be ready to sing-a-long.

Sorry I've not posted a lot but much like the farm the first week of June, Quack club is coming together at a hectic pace!
Yay on the van. Thinks this is a good call. Have started the paperwork and will wrap up the reservation tomorrow/monday. NO worries we will pick this up $. Greatly appreciate the volunteers! Am slowly learning that I need to share a little of the effort with the many so the one can enjoy it too. Scroggie/Bonz - DOH - garbage bags in general in the van - thanks for pointing out the obvious that i missed! Good call on the wet dog prevention too!
We are a slightly smaller crowd this year and the sleeping spots are looking a little better. We have a bunch of roll away beds with thin to medium mattresses, that should be better than the air mattresses (more reliable for sure). And it doesn't look like we will be jammed in like sardines. Bunny and Dan are getting the three year repeat QC couple bump and will be in the master bedroom this year. Don, Tara, and I are going to relocate to the basement. This way the kittehs can have the basement and the bat cage without us worrying crazy that they will get out. EBBY - NO!! LANCE- NO! The pups will be with us for bedtime as well. Should work out better we hope.
LD - looks like everyone that will be around Friday is going into NFF. After NFF most of us will be back at QC.
Working on the menu. Thinking we might be having a themed food thing going for when we get back from QC at night. Another change will be that the men are going to move the basement fridge up and put it out back. It will be near the food set up, grill, etc. This way we can keep sandwich fuds, burgers, dogs, and the fixings in the fridge readily available for 'help yourself service'. Plus DanCat can grill up some tofu when he locks himself out at 3 am. Dinner will be out back like last year and breaky-fast same way in the dining room buffet style.

I haven't kept up with this thread but I am down for whatever is easiest for all. I'm always in the mood for more music so I'll be involved in whatever carpool goes earliest. Can contribute money or whatever may be needed. Going to read through the past few posts soon.
So food will basically grill based? I'm just tying to plan my contributions. Will the oven be fair game, too? I was thinking about making a couple of things in disposable pans to heat up (mac 'n cheese, veggie pesto bake...), but certainly can steer away if need be. With the addition of the grill , I'm imagining my favorite spinach and asiago chicken sausages, and I can marinate a bunch of chicken in smaller portions to throw on?
My car has a lot of my camping gear- EZUp, 2 chairs, huge tent, double high queen size mattress.. so if anything is needed, it's already packed!
Ellen, I am not a huge BBQ person myself, but besides local brews (we ALWAYS welcome them at QC- we try to represent our home turfs!), maybe some Texas BBQ sauce to throw on the grillin' noms?
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Somehow i misworded something... YEs for oven etc..all fair game. Was thinking one night - we would 'mostly grill' for the protein (meat/meatless). Should/Hope to have a plan outlined by tonight. Scroggie's Mac and cheese Will be on the menu at some point.
Two things that would help - if you are driving - coolers and folding lawn chairs. We have a bunch of chairs but if you don't like sitting in those white plastic ones - throw a canvas chair in the trunk. : )
Wow... behind on publishing the menu.. trying to go with a theme wasn't satisfying. Not enough diversity. We also have longer stays this time to factor in. This year the kitchen staff (haha) will be focused on providing a flexitarian menu that is better rounded and will include 'some' food that is actually good for us.
Management has the right to alter the menu at any time without advance notification.
Tues -all request dinner : ) (You know who you are.)
Wed - long travel day for several - wing it - probably get some pizza's and beer
Thursday: - chicken parm * pasta in home made red sauce (aka american chop suey) * 'chicken' with sundried tomatoes and whatever else amuses in Alfredo sauce - lobster stuffed baked shrimp * Antipasto salad % Italian bread
Friday: - Lobsta' Saute dripping in butter and garlic - pork loin % 'chicken' pot pie - Katy Dids Clam Chowda' % Stuffed mushrooms % egg plant parm % mashed potatoes % steamed veggies % rolls
Saturday: (Grilling night) - BBQ babyback pork ribs % grilled portobello mushrooms * Burgers and dogs * potato salad % scroggie's mac and cheese % Cole slaw % corn bread
Sunday: LEFTOVERS
Monday: Cassarino's ? : )
Tuesday: wing it
The fridge will be stocked with deli meats and cheeses, burgers and dogs, pbjs etc etc will be available at any time self-serve.
Breakfast will be served Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning: in some combination TBD: Blueberry pancakes, French toast, Eggs, Bacon, &Sausage, potatoes, toast/bagels etc, juice, coffee, tea
All other mornings kitchen will be stocked, help yourself - don't be shy or you will starve
If all goes well, some of the most delicious chocolate strawberries I've ever had will be around (<- and i'm not a fan of chocolate + fruit - these were OMG), and Katy Did's cookies
Water, booze, beer..
If anyone reads the above and sees nothing that they can/will eat, please PM me asap.
^^ Just have to remember that I have to work tuesday and keep it to a dull roar!
Speaking of work... Quacker and I have friday, sat, sunday off.
I am semi-working wed and thurs - which means keep an eye on things here and there - so forgive me if i have to ditch into the office every now and then. Quacker will have to be a little more focused on work those days if all stays on course. If the office door gets closed it means one of us has to put on our big kid clothes and participate in conf calls. Hopefully we can keep that to a minimum and enjoy the pre NFF company!!
We usually take those days off however the deadlines with our current projects are not aligning with the NFF stars.
