An email from whom? I'm thinking it's just a joke.
I agree! Just another disinformation campaign. I am seriously worried about the crush at the last minute or two hours. I also imagine that by seven o'clock there will be tons of people trying to get close or cut into the pit. I may be enough to ruin the entire pit experience for me.
I just got an e-mail from AC saying this year the pit line will be at the fountain 30min before each show where they will hand you a ticket (like they already do for the comedy tent) which will allow you to walk right into the pit. Pretty neat way to avoid the rush into the pit and the mob of people trying to hold together some sort of line.
Here is the text from the reply I received from info@bonnaroo about the pit line
"Thanks for getting in touch! The pit at Bonnaroo's What stage are open to GA on a first-come, first-served basis, and emptied after each performance. Our best suggestion is too plan ahead and look for the line near the pit entrance."
please don't wait by the fountain anyone especially @stratsg90 and Neader, we would miss you guys in the pit!

My advice is go to the side facing the right side of what stage. Less of a wait in my experience.

Hey guys I just got another email from AC. They seemed worried that there wouldn't be enough space at the fountain for the line so they scrapped the idea. Way to make me look like a fool right? Anyways, they're tossing around new ideas and said they're probably going to form the line at splash-a-roo instead now. That's hush hush though. I personally think it's a terrible idea

does anybody know what time the open up the main stage field? I'm sure its the same time friday, saturday and sunday, but I'm only interested in friday. I can't remember what time I saw kids last year running towards the front to get their spot for radiohead.

It is open from whenever it opens until Sunday night. As far as when it opens Friday, I am not sure. I just know that CPK and @noage walked into the Radiohead pit right before the show started without waiting in line all day.

I have been to bonnaroo four times now, and I'm pretty dang sure they close the main stage field after the last show of the night. SO! if anyone can answer my question, what time does that field open?

Really? I thought it stayed open, but I am never around the What field at the end of the night, so I was 100% on the answer. Now I am curious as to the answer as well.

I know it's closed thursday and opens at some point friday (which is probably when you saw kids dashing for Radiohead). Pretty sure it's open Friday-Sunday. Not sure what time it opens Friday morning though.

I am trying to remember but my days blur together at Roo. I feel like there was one morning when walking to the exit that I was told to use the one near the Ferris Wheel and not the regular entrance but I can't recall if it's because they shut one of the exits or if it was Thursday/Sunday.
What time do you think people will start lining up for Wu-Tang? My friend and I really want to be on the rail. We were thinking right after Wilco finished or would that be too late?

Rail will be hard to get, but I think if you got in line right after Wilco you would probably get it. No way of knowing til you get there

Check it out periodically during the day and one last time BEFORE wilco starts. If it looks like there is a line and you need to get in it right then to be on me rail you just might have to. I cannot imagine people skipping Paul McCartney (i am not judging) to get a rail spot for wu tang but people who would do that would probably skip wilco as well. And Jim James and John McLaughlin, and conspirator, and the Xx. In my opinion.
Just keep checking the pit line at which periodically during the afternoon Friday. Good luck. I hope it helps.

This is my first roo and my main goal is to get as close as possible to mumford and sons. My plan is to get up around 7 or 8 and go and get in line to get in. Does what stage open the same time time as the centeroo? Once i get in i will quickly get water and food and get as close tothe stage as possible. Is all of this possible, any tips on this or for what to do about needing to go to the bathroom ( my plan atm is just hold it)
So, this is my first year attending Bonnaroo and I'd like to get tips on making it into the pit. To be specific, the out for the Kanye West show. Id like to know how many hours before hand I should get in line to wait, no many how many it takes. Should I enter from the left? The right? If you all could help me it would be greatly appreciated also tips to make it into other pits

If you're going to wait for Kanye you need to count the hours you're going to wait before the show and the hours until he shows up. You need a special 'pit' wristband to access all pits at Bonnaroo. You must also sing the hit single by Mouse-Rat, 'The Pit' to gain entry.

In all actuality, you probably need to be in the kanye pit line by 3-4 p.m. to guarantee entry. I hear right is better but who knows?
