Today, as a thank you to their longtime supporters, Moogfest is releasing a limited number of $99 five-day festival passes only available to local residents, registered Moog instrument owners and those signed up on the Moogfest mailing list. Tickets go on sale to the general public on November 14, 2013. That difference could also be described as untz untz vs bleep bloop!
Also, if Coachella's lineup doesn't blow my hair back, I'm totally going to this. Asheville is amazing, plus it would be cool to go to an inaugural festival.
If your hair isn't blown back at the end of January, I'm going to blame your hair. If you know what I'm getting at.
I think so. Either you are a lineup tease or you're insulting my hair.

"Yesterday, to celebrate the launch of www.moogfest.com and the announcement of Moogfest 2014's new format, we released 150 $99 passes to recipients of the Moogfest mailing list, owners of registered Moog products and local Asheville residents. The passes sold out so quickly that we released 100 more immediately. In total, 250 of you snagged a great deal to Moogfest 2014: Five-days exploring the synthesis of technology, art and music. To those of you who missed out: we will continue to offer insider opportunities through the Moogfest Mailing List, Moogfest Facebook Page and @moogfest Twitter account (HINT: your next opportunity will come this week via @moogfest on Twitter)."
It also kinda makes you think they're not planning for large numbers in total. You wouldn't think they'd offer 150 discounted presale tickets if planning on a 8,000 person festival.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Moogfest 2014 and The Media Arts Project Announce Call to Artists Exhibit your art to thousands at Moogfest 2014. Submissions due by December 29th 2013.
Over the last 50 years Moog Music has created technology that has given artists the ability to create and express themselves in new and limitless ways. Moogfest honors this spirit of innovation, embodied in their founder Bob Moog through a five-day festival that highlights the intersection of art, music, performance and technology.
As a part of the festivities, Moogfest and The Media Arts Project (MAP) are issuing an invitation to artists, musicians, designers, architects, engineers, innovators, scientists, and students to submit proposals for temporary outdoor installations that embody the interdisciplinary philosophy that Moog exemplifies. Designs should enhance the experience of the user by engaging multimedia and multi-sensory experiences of sound, structure, materiality, light and form.
Between 5 and 10 submissions will be selected for exhibition within the festival boundaries. Participation is open to any individual or team who will be 18 years of age by the time registration closes on December 29th, 2013. Submissions will be accepted in digital format only. More information on proposal requirements, format and parameters, as well as the official application forms can be found at www.moogfest.com/map.
If selected, participants will install their pieces as a part of Moogfest and will receive an award of $1000 and passes to Moogfest 2014.

I think it's safe to say that this thing is going to be huge. They just announced a pretty impressive lineup of speakers: Laurie Anderson and Giorgio Moroder, to name a few. It will be near impossible to make this happen after going to Coachella, but I just might take an extended vacation..
I am also doing Coachella (weekend one) so at least I will have a week in between if I end up going to this. I did book a room at the DTI a few days ago though.
Moroder ranks up there with Eno as my "HOLY SH*T" factor. I need the lineup to be solid or I'm hoping they do single tickets for that. This came outta nowhere.

Yeah, that speaker list gets me a little giddy just reading the credentials of everyone. Also, can we assume YACHT is a lock for the lineup since Claire Evans is a speaker?

$484 for 5 nights. Thats not bad at all. Thats about what my 3 nights of MOEMS cost.
This means that Dr. Patel hasn't caught wind of the new festival yet. We'll all be receiving phone calls in January letting us know our reservations has doubled in price, and we can cancel our rooms, or bend over and get fisted up the ass.
