I really wonder what precipitated this change, it never really looked like their wasn't enough room in the campgrounds for them to take this away from Tent Only.
For some reason they apparently hate TO. It's been shrinking every single year since I've been going. I'm guessing they finally just made it the size of a postage stamp.

I could see the argument that Tent Only should be reserved for people who can't car camp, and not used as a defacto free group camping for early arrivers, but then to do this in a pretty unenforceable way AND not have shuttle service available when it opens is really stupid.
this might be a stupid question but how would anyone enter on foot? maybe I'm reading it wrong, but I am confused... unless you live in the inforoo house that is soon to be purchased/established you would have to drive in from somewhere, right? (note: I am doing VIP this year so TO was not an option anyway, but I am really curious to know how that would even work.)
A lot of people fly in, and take a Bonnaroo shuttle to location. Or you could arrive in town by bus, looked into that one year going up to Rothbury.
Edit: Except for the fact that the shuttles aren't supposed to start until after they expect TO to be filled up...no telling what's running through their minds.
I did TO in '07 when I went solo, but haven't been back since. I still think this is a terrible move. Having TO available is a great option for those who want it.

And to announce the change after Groop Camping is sold out and the groops are locked in I am pretty sure. Dr. Joe, the deadline to add people has passed, right?
This would Benefit my situation greatly, and I feel it's a terrible idea. If its not broke, don't fix it!
To add to this. Each of the past 2 years, me and my girlfriend relied on the kindness of strangers to share their shade under ez ups and enjoyed many of the great set ups people were able to cart in from their vehicles. Nobody is going to walk in with an ez up, or large shade structures. Ain't nobody got time for that. How convenient is it that they announce this just after Daft Punk Releases their first single! HELLO Could they be anymore obvious?
Agree 100% with you Bone. I'm flying in early Thursday and taking the shuttle so I personally would benefit from this. But I feel this is an absolutely atrocious idea. Don't know why they would make this change. I hope through Fb/Twitter we can express how this is a horrible idea and maybe they will change their minds. To be honest I'm not optimistic. However the squeaky wheel gets the oil so we'll see.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

Could always buy a $20 pop tent from Walmart, throw that up in front of your car, leave a couple empties and a dirty pair of knickers hanging on the door, then walk over to TO
When the terms state "parking is included with the price of your ticket," I'd expect that to mean I have a parking spot for my car without risk of it being towed (regardless if there is a tent in front of it).

you just walk in the gate. i did it for a few years (parked/stayed at a friends house about a mile away)
I now day park, cuts back on the walk.
I guess what I really meant was for those driving in from other places (like myself from SC), where would they park their cars in order to walk in? either way it seems like a poorly-thought-out decision on the part of the powers that be.

Getting there unseen with all of your gear would be a problem. We carried everything through the woods last year to escape the pod 1 quarantine. Ended up coming out of the Total Access entrance and got questioned by the staff but they let us go on our way.

Also I think their fucking with us about the fact that their estimating it to be filled by Wednesday afternoon. These are the same people who tell us that they "sell out" every year. I think they are just saying that to get people there that much earlier. But in reality their not expecting it to be filled Wednesday. All this is my opinion and I could be be 100% wrong so whatever. I need a beer

I don't camp TO but that's pretty dang fucked to only announce this now.
As for cars being towed: The language was kind of unclear so maybe they mean something other than unattended cars in GA camping? I don't know but I doubt they can enforce that since so many people park their car and go camp with friends or whatever. I sleep beneath my car with no tent or sign of life beyond a cooler and chair. I hope one of y'all post fest volunteers don't have to shovel my body into a trash can because my car got towed as I napped. cr****
I think this may be due to walk ups having nowhere to go once tent only was filled up. Hopefully they start the airport shuttles on Wednesday for those of you flying in. Capp Dogg just needed to find another way to punish the early birds. I'm sad I'll be missing out on my first brunch. I suggest all complaints be in form of haikus.
Tent only is gone. Those with cars are not allowed. Where will we eat brunch?

I can say that at about 1:00 AM Wednesday night last year the only place I could find to set up in TO was along a drainage ditch with part of my EZ Up actually in the ditch. I'm sure that there may have been some pockets somewhere in that madness but it was pretty dense by then.
Quack. How convenient they waited until the groop camping deadline had passed to announce this. This will greatly affect Camp Inforoo and Brunch!
I believe Groop deadline is Friday, so still time to join a group. Still a Quacked up way to announce this.
Groop camping is sold out. I am guessing the Friday deadline is for adding people to existing groops, but we could not start a new groop due to it being sold out.
