it was our first bonnaroo, and we used the Access for my CPAP issues. I was pleased with how it all went except that when we pulled up for access parking we were directed to a place that was not ELECTRIC.. we had to specify more than once that we were to be plugged in and thankfully we hadnt set up camp yet.. so perhaps a mark next to the A that identifies us to a specific place where we are to be directed. otherwise, the Access crew was amazing! great first experience for us.
Hopefully they'll get this worked out for next year. I believe this was the first year that they offered the powered camp sites. Did you end up at the base of the clock tower or where were the CPAP sites located?
access was great! we really enjoyed everything about it. The only thing I think I would change would be to fix the drainage by the showers and the portos. several tents had water from both coming dangerously close to tents in access. the music from the tower was a little much for especially Wednesday night after a long drive and only wanting to get some rest.

I would encourage people to email either Laura or Bonnaroo if they had specific issues regarding Access. katbur2 and custeph had told me that Laura had encouraged them to provide feedback on their experience, so they could make improvements for next year.
I was surprised that the powered campsites were right up front since many there didn't have mobility issues, but I understand it was more of a logistical convenience with them wanting to run power off one generator.
The only issue I had that comes immediately to mind is one of the volunteers at the corner entrance near TO giving a friend a hard time when they came to visit, i.e. stopping them at the gate, asking if they were in Access and what they were doing trying to come into the Access campground.

We had SEVERAL run ins with that guy. I'm probably going to email Laura about him, even though, because he was a volunteer, I don't think there's much she can do.

Yeah, I think I'm the friend that Dave is talking about. After the first run in I just went to a different entrance in the fence, but he didnt seem to understand that it wasnt a restricted area rather a restricted camping area. I was hoping he'd chill after the first day. I thought maybe he just hadnt been there before and didnt understand how the environment worked. Guess not.

Bumping this thread because I just noticed that the Access Guide for this year has been updated, and that the deadline for requesting accommodations is May 22

Access Camping and Access in general at Bonnaroo is absolutely one of the best things ever. Laura G. and her staff do an AMAZING JOB providing an opportunity for many of us (me included) to be able to enjoy Bonnaroo that might not get to otherwise. Access provides special close to Centeroo camping, special port-o-potties, special entrances, special and/or raised seating at all tents and stages (Not sure about the Miller Lite stage), and many other items (check out www.bonnaroo.com/festival-info/accessibility for more details). You will need either a state issued handicap placard (the blue one you hang from the rear view of your car) or state issued handicap license plate to get into Access. You also NEED TO EMAIL LAURA AT ACCESS@BONNAROO.COM BY MAY 22 to reserve a place in Access Camping. I have been told that they are going to be stricter in enforcing the access rules this year, so please email BEFORE MAY 22.

My dad and I have rocked Bonnaroo together for three consecutive years. The first two years we were Access Volunteers, and last year we bought tickets for the first time. My dad has a mobility disability and uses a motorized wheelchair, and I can often be spotted helping him cut a path through a crowd. People are very kind to folks in wheelchairs, but you guys can be kinda hard to see down there! Dad and I keep saying we're going to make a really cool, highly visible, detachable vertical element to attach to the back of his chair, to add to the party and make it easier to see him as he moves through the crowd.
Last year my best friend and his dad came along for their first year. They had an amazing time, of course! They enjoyed learning our traditions and benefitting from the little tricks we've learned over the years.
We camped beside a super energetic couple last year - she's one of those amazing hula hoopers you see at the back of the field - and we're hoping to camp beside them again this year.
If you're reading this and you might like to join our little community, write to me! We always show up on Wednesday evening soon after gates open, so we can set up tents in the daylight. To join us, you'd have to plan to do the same. We don't have father-daughter or father-son requirement, but you must love to have fun and be willing to radiate positivity, as stated in the Bonnaroovian Code! Maximal partiers and relaxers welcomed alike! If you're potentially interested, message me here or email me at liztussey at gmail dot com.
If nothing else, please drop by and say hi. We are requesting to camp on the edge of the CPAP row this year, and we have a big orange tent and a canopy with tie died sheets, which we lower to block the sun and raise to welcome the breeze. We're Liz, Robbie, James and Jim from Kentucky. They might be hillbillies, but I'm definitely not. JK. We're all cool.
Hey accessaroo! We roll into Access on Wednesday afternoon as well so if I spot your camp I'll be sure to say hi. We have a silver Dodge Journey with a blue EZ up and orange tent so say hello if you spot us!
Can't wait to be back on the farm in just 34 days!

If I make it down this year, I'm going to miss not being camped ten feet from the clock tower.
Wait, I thought you were volunteering. What happened? Are you not coming to the farm at all?
I was going to volunteer. And I was offered the dopest of the dope volunteer spots. But I would have to be on site for many days. And while I personally have no problem with that logistically, the powers that be won't allow me to be gone for that long. (Not my job. I have a long standing agreement with them about the time I take off in June. Just family stuff)
So, unless Santa visits me before the festival(I've been a good girl...promise.) I'll be sitting this one out.
I'm not really ok with it. But I don't thing the tears will start until the party begins.

Well, that stinks! I hope you win a tix soon cause you've got quite a long drive and some planning to do if that happens

At this point, I could put a Roo trip together in less than a day if I need to. So I haven't given up all hope yet.
Hey everyone, just a reminder to email Laura at access@bonnaroo.com if you haven't done so yet. Yes, you could get the hang tag PDF from someone else but if you send an email to get one it helps the Access team estimate the amount of space they will need which makes for a nicer camping experience for all of us!
In addition, I'll post my location here once I get on The Farm so if y'all spot me be sure to come say hi!

Also, if you need an electrical site you MUST email Laura, because those sites are very, very limited!
We'll be in Access for our 4th year this year.Got a pop-up and NE Plates. I miss the clock tower yelling stuff and opening up. Does anyone else hope they jazz it up this time?
