The contractors heard the news of major sponsorships backing out right before the festival and got spooked. Obviously they wanted to make sure they weren’t out money so all of them asked to be paid upfront. Without the sponsors’ money they couldn’t pay as well as a horrid weather forecast putting a damper on usually high last minute ticket sales.
