edit: this thing is only $95!?!?!? Holy fuck, I can totally do that. No problem. Pretty sure I know someone in St. Louis too, I'll have to rekindle that friendship.... I wish Forecastle didn't have Beck or else I'd prob sell my ticket and do this instead. Grrrr.... I'm going to put in for the days off and see what happens. Eff it.
Edit 2: the days are open at work. And this has enough people from roo that it'll ease 1) conflicts 2) people I won't get to see from working. Boom. I'm in. Who wants to bunk with me if I can't convince this estranged friend to give me floor space.
Yea, the price is great for this thing. They actually sold some tickets at $50 and $75 over the last few weeks (I was too slow on both, but have a friend who got in at $50). I haven't begun to think about where I'll be staying for this. I have some friends in town, but can also sometimes get really good hotel deals. I'll let you know once I have an idea what I'll be doing.
Also, I was thinking the exact same thing as far as Roo conflicts. I already wasn't going to get to any of these acts at Bonnaroo, so this is working out pretty much perfectly.

I don't think it sold out last year, at least not completely. The 2-day passes may sell out, but then they still sell single-day tickets for $50 each day.
It is also worth mentioning that the $95 for the 2-day pass they are currently selling is exactly what you pay. They don't throw any fees or taxes on top of that number.
So for anyone who has been to this/been to this city (i've only passed through) what area do i want to book my hotel in exactly? everything looks really far when i just put in st louis... any suggestions?
and what is the general time the music stops/starts? trying to determine if i need to check in on friday or if i'm good to check in saturday. either way i'll be leaving monday, i'm not going to drive 6 hours home sunday night after a full day of music. eff that noise.
The festival is in Forest Park (essentially St. Louis' version of Central Park). There aren't a ton of hotels in the area, but there should be a few. The music starts around noon and will go until about 10-10:30pm each day.

Buncha bullshit. That's why I make sure I never request off Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, anything like that. That way they can't bitch when I take time off in the summer for festivals. Thankfully it's worked out the past two years that I've been off for the holidays though. Just the way the job scheduling fell.

Is anybody going this year? Just made the decision to go as its less than a 3 hour drive. Has anybody been before? From what i gather its noon to like 10 with 3 stages.

I know I'm kinda late on this, but I've been to Loufest the last two years (along with Bonnaroo) and it does clear up a lot of conflicts for me. It's also great for how cheap it is and the crowd has been small every year where I could walk up to a show on one of the smaller stages half an hour before a show and get a front row spot. Will undoubtedly go again this year unless the new management screws something up.
