I still have an extra ticket for late nights available. I've got one extra for Milk Carton Kids Revue on Friday and Deer Tick on Saturday. I'm sure I'll be able to get rid of them at the venue if nobody takes it before the show.

I may know someone interested if it's still available in a couple days

I think I know someone looking for Milk Carton and I will message you once I confirm.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The band Deer Tick, which got its start in Rhode Island, had to find another way to get home for the Newport Folk Festival when U.S. Airways refused to let a member on board with his guitar, the band tweeted Wednesday:
"Just got kicked off a @usairways flight cuz they wouldn't let me bring my guitar on board. @newportfolkfest here I come!!... via @amtrak"
@newportfolkfest replied: "They messed with the wrong Folking band."
Another user posted a link to an article on Reddit that said it's legal to bring guitars on flights. @deertickmusic answered: "i showed them that. I was told US Airways doesn't follow FAA rules (???)"
This is Deer Tick's fourth consecutive year playing at the sold-out Newport Folk Festival, which begins Friday at Fort Adams State Park. The band also hosts a series of after parties at the festival.
Hey folks. I have an extra weekend pass for purchase to anyone that may want to go last minute. I'll let it go for well under face value if you ask nicely. I'm super excited for this year's festival. Best lineup yet.

No reply from U.S. Airways so far.
Good to see US Airways still sucks at everything. The only reason I'd ever fly them again is because I seem to want to go to the Carolinas for various reasons and they have that Charlotte hub.

Amazing festival once again. Great friends and great music.
Highlights for me were Ryan Adams, Jack White, Milk Carton Kids, J. Roddy Walston & The Business, and Robert Hunter. But every show was great (and really funny crowd interaction).

Acts who made me laugh more than most comedians:
- Milk Carton Kids (hilarious) - Ryan Adams - John Reilly and Friends - Sun Kill Moon - The Lonesome Trio - Jeff Tweedy
That's one of the things that makes this festival stand out to me.....the artists seem to be having such a great time. Jack White commented about how this was the first festival in 12 years of doing them that he was able to walk around and catch a bunch of bands without any hassle and he wasn't sure that'd ever happen again. He and John C. Reilly could be spotted at the sides of many stages on Saturday.
Dude seriously! Joe from the Milk Carton Kids really is hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing- my cheeks hurt! Ryan Adams, too. (Note: I'm STILL looking for a buddy to see Milk Carton and Sarah Jarosz at the Calvin...)
My favorites from the weekend: Ryan Adams Milk Carton Kids Mandolin Orange and the Lonesome Trio at the Museum Stage
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Nope not yet i used to get free tickets for the northampton venues all the time cause i know a bunch of guys that work there so i've been hoping to bump into them before the show.
Just got home after another fantastic weekend. This festival is the bee's knees. I know everyone always says that about every festival, but there is something truly magical that goes on at Newport. The fans get it, the artists get it.
Top 5 musical moments of the weekend:
5) Dance party at Trampled by Turtles. Not nearly as big as the Rod y Gab dance party, but there were about 30 of us off to the side of the stage loving every note.
4) Dance party at Rodrigo y Gabriela. Never before had I seen an entire field of people dancing to an artist. By the last song of theirs, I would say 90% of the crowd was dancing along. It was a spectacular sight to see.
3). The Oh Hellos. Fans go to Newport for the music. Shows like the one put on by the Oh Hellos make that evident. Not only was the show full of energy, but the crowd was loving it. You could visibly tell the band was having one of the best experiences of their career, and were extremely thankful for the support, which fired up the crowd even more. Not many bands get cheered to an encore at Newport, but the Oh Hellos did.
2) Jack White shedding a tear on stage during the group cover of "Goodnight, Irene"
1) Watkins Family Hour. This was one of the coolest shows I have been to. It was a music-variety show that reminded me of Prairie Home Companion. Guests with their own 2-3 song sets included Willie Watson, Aoife O'Donovan, the Deslondes, Tom Brousseau, John C Reilly, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Langhorne Slim, and Pokey LaFarge. Sara and Sean would jump on and off the stage bringing everything together. The night included plenty of covers and original songs. Other musical guests who lent their talents included Hozier, Milk Carton Kids, Chris Funk and the girl from Houndmouth (Funk played slide guitar for most of the evening; the others named played along in the group singalongs).

I think it's great that Chris Funk showed up this year kind of like the Decemberists' ambassador. Hoping Colin Meloy or the Decemberists or Black Prarie play next year.
The Milk Carton Kids Revue was set up the same way with the guests playing a few of their own songs and Joe and Kenneth coming out as support/harmony at different times. It was so magical that I was *this* close to going to Watkins Family Hour last minute...
Chris Funk played at the Bluegrass Situation with Langhorne and Shakey, too:

So i was at the calvin this morning and asked for a favor. I asked for 4 tickets and if i get them you can have 2. Hopefully he comes through
That would be amazing! Last night I actually found someone who said yes to to the show, but we haven't bought yet. He wasn't home and couldn't see the seating chart on his phone. So either way, I going to go, and possibly at a very low cost thanks to you!!
