Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I wish, my friend. Probably won't make it out to the Tabernacle this year. I did the first three nights a couple years ago and that was the way to go; they did all the old-school jams and gradually got more wompy as the run went on.
Impossible not to, I was just glad to have seen those early sets personally, since I didn't ever see them in the days when their shows were always that way. I didn't know you were into them. You gonna hit any of these dates up?
$200 for all five shows. Not bad, if you consider it's $75 just for the NYE show.

I guess you can say I have dabbled in some STS9. I've seen them, I think, 4 times. Looks like you probably never noticed, but I "liked" some of your STS9 Now Playing posts. I don't have any concrete plans for seeing any of the NYE dates, but I'm open to it if work/money/free time/wife play out.
I've updated the OP with the information given so far. I have not added anything that is still on rumor status. When Bassnectar, for example, is confirmed, I will add him to the list.
Also, if anyone has further information on something listed (ie. if it's part of a run and if so, what are the dates), let me know as well!

Atlanta here. I'll probably wind up at WSP unless something far more interesting is occurring somewhere more obscure. I'm looking for eye candy and WSP's light show sure as hell delivered on the 2 occasions I've seem em here on NYE. I'd rather see STS9 but that price tag for the Tabernacle I can't justify.
Thanks bonzai for starting this thread!! I'm hoping people more in the know than me will chime in about events around here.

made one last year and so I copied him Some people are willing to travel for NYE shows, so it's helpful for us to know what's available. I, for one, have no idea where I will be!

I really hope a good band steps up and plays somewhere in Minnesota on NYE. I turn 30 years old on New Year's Day and would like to actually celebrate my birthday this year instead of watching that stupid ball drop on TV, eating a piece of birthday cake and going to bed. That's the way it's been for the past 29 years. My parents tried to have birthday parties for me when I was little but no one showed up because everyone was gone for the holidays. I also tried to have a birthday party when I turned 16 but, again, no one showed up. I gave up on celebrating my birthday after that. The main problem is that it seems like there is nothing going on around here on NYE. My friends usually have other plans that night and don't really care about my birthday. I thought about traveling to New York City but the airlines and hotels jack up their prices for that week so there's no way I could afford it. I don't think I could even afford gas and hotel to drive to say, Milwaukee or Chicago. I might be able to afford Des Moines as I can stay with my grandparents but I don't see any bands playing there either. Last year, the fake Beach Boys played at the casino here so maybe I'll keep an eye on their website and see if they have a band playing that night - nothing scheduled yet though.
