annnnnnnnnnnd I have an aftershow for Sunday. My Sunday night will end with Darkside and all of the mushroom pizzas at the fest and a Nico Jaar aftershow. Yipee!!
I'll be there too. Also it now sounds like I'll be at the fest all 3 days as well.
How do I snag the job at C3 of creating the Lolla map every year? That must be the easiest job ever. It's fucking Lolla, they put nothing into their festivals and shit never changes.

Well, there always was a Perry's stage, but it used to be where "Das Beers Garden" is now. None of the land west of Columbus used to be part of the grounds. Also there used to be a stage on Balbo street and the lake shore stage used to be in the SW corner instead of SE.

At this point I think I think I want to see more bands playing after shows than bands actually playing Lolla. Nicely done, C3. Great job.
Aftershows I'm excited about vs. Lolla Sets I'm excited about:
Wednesday: 3 aftershows Thursday: 7 aftershows Friday: 4 aftershows vs. 10 Lolla sets and that includes 3 conflicts Saturday: 3 aftershows vs. 7 lolla sets and 2 conflicts Sunday: 3 aftershows vs 5 lolla sets
I'm trying to talk myself into there being at least 1 set to see during most timeslots. However; I just know that when the weather is shitty or when my feet get tired, I will not be seeing Rich Homie Quan, Grouplove, Chromeo, Childish Gambino, Temper Trap, or Run the Jewels like I try and convince myself I will. Either I'm spending a lot of money on beer or I'm leaving the fest and eating out in the city.
Hold on, you're not going to Chromeo and Run the Jewels? Come on now.
Back in 2007 and 2008 when Daft Punk and Radiohead and shit were playing this thing, I hated Lolla because of all the bros who would just show up and get bombed and talk through all the sets. Now I'm roughing out a schedule that has huge blocks of time with nothing I want to see and I'm just penciling in "get drunk." Now some bro is gonna get pissed at me cause he can't hear Glitch Mob over all my yaking.
I want to see Run the Jewels much more than Chromeo. Saw Chromeo before on this tour and I liked Fancy Footwork much more than the new album.
There are so many artists that I liked more an album or two ago: Chromeo, Interpol, Phantogram, Temper Trap, Grouplove, Fitz & the Tantrums, Airborne Toxic Event, White Denim, Young the Giant, Childish Gambino, Avett Bros, Spoon, Broken Bells (and a lot of those are more guilty pleasures than actually good)
I'm just old and grumpy now. I saw the lineup before I bought the ticket and it's a fun weekend regardless. However; I have the 3 day schedule printed out on the cork board on my office and when I log in to Spotify to play bands to firm up my schedule and I just get sad.
