Perusing this absolute trainwreck of a thread, I really feel like ol' "beavdog151" doesn't really get his due in the annals of "worst poster ever" around here. We call a lot of people "the worst" around here, but this guy really is the fucking worst.
I personally hope Billy Joel doesn't headline. I will just spend 4 days walking around saying "we strictly do 80s Joel music, sir" and screaming at the top of my lungs "it's the FUCKING CATALINA WINE MIXER" and nobody wants to put up with that level of annoying.
For some reason I can't see him headlining, maybe he would be in Lionel's spot?

Billy Joel would be an unopposed headliner or nothing. He's as big or bigger than Elton.

No freaking way is he as big as Elton.
I think it's an arguable ranking, with merits for both. In his native UK I obviously think Elton is more popular, but the American market? It could go either way honestly.

I don't believe so. Elton has more hits than pretty much anyone.

Maybe it's a northeast thing, but a Billy Joel show would sell out 10x as quick as Elton around here. Also, Billy still has his voice, which as we saw last year, Elton doesn't have going for him.

Maybe it is. And I'm sure that I know more Billy Joel songs than I think I do. The same thing happened with Lionel last year, I realized how many of his songs that I knew and it was a ton. One thing you have to think about, Elton was billed over Kanye. Kanye is about the biggest thing in the world right now. I don't think Billy Joel is on the same level.

Billy Joel and Elton John have toured together multiple times, as equals. They are both unopposed headliners. I can concede that you (and others obv) don't think he's as good as Elton, but that doesn't mean he's not a headliner. There is no chance that "Piano Man" gets sung to a late afternoon crowd.

Beach Boys. But seriously, I could definitely see him in the same spot Lionel was in. He's not a clear cut headliner. We'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

If Kings of Leon and Jack White are headliners, Billy Joel is. I will agree to disagree for sure.

I've heard other Northeasterners express their love for Joel. I don't think I know of any fans of his around here. I really don't think he would be a big draw as a headliner for a major fest.
