This will be her last festival for a bit. She needed Vampire Weekend, bad. Oddly enough, she likes this one over Coachella. She also thought "Roar" was the best tune from 2013, too. Go figure.
hahahaha. This tickles me. I'm imagining her telling you Roar was the best tune.

And I need this festival in my life.
She's the best. My friends loved me till they met her. I've been pushed to the wayside.
So, have they done after-shows? I've been googling but can't find any info.
With our decision not to do Roo, I really wanna do a week in NYC and hit up this fest. LOVE the lineup.
Last time we did NYC, we stayed in Weehawken because it was cheap and there was a ferry from hotel to Manhattan, but it was still a pain in the butt.
Any recommendations on where to stay for a week? Easy access (subway) to Manhattan, but without the price tag. Brooklyn? I figure we would actually enjoy some time in Brooklyn/Williamsburg.
Also, those ferry passes offered by GovBall, I take it they go directly to the island?
Don't pay for a shuttle/ferry pass, it's a rip off. Just take public transit.
via the website Getting to Randall’s Island Park via subway and bus is easy! Via subway, you take the 4, 5, or 6 train to 125th street. Once there, you can hop on the X80 express bus at 125th street and Lexington avenue, and the X80 will take you directly to the festival entrance.

Thanks. I kinda thought that was the case.
I figure the ferry shuttle is more for people who may be overwhelmed by riding the subway/public transit. We'd be riding the rails all week anyway, so might as well take it to the fest.
Really really hoping they offer day passes, so I can at least go on the Saturday.
On the home page of their website in the first post it says "Single Day tickets will be made available in the near future." Looks like if you wait a little bit you'll be good!

EDIT: holy crap! airbnb is amazing!
Everytime I have to get a hotel in NYC and can't stay with a friend I go to the Larchmont. It's like a European hotel with shared bathrooms. But it's always clean, the staff is friendly, and it's in a great Manhattan location.
The biggest draw back of this lineup being so stacked is going to be the painful conflicts.. Anyone care to guess what the headliner schedule will be like? My guess:

Saturday Mainstage 1: Axwell/Ingrosso > Jack White Mainstage 2: Foster the People > Skrillex
Sunday Mainstage 1: Not sure > Outkast Mainstage 2: Vampire Weekend > Oukast is unopposed
Anyone else wanna take a stab?
I agree with the conflict concept you're talking about, but you think they would not have Axwell/Ingrosso>Skrillex? I'm not sure if they do the whole Foot Traffic idea like bonnaroo.

This, so much. Last year the main reason I wanted to go was Kanye and the Avett Brothers. They were put at the same time and I was disappointed that there was no real overlap.
Strokes are not at the same time as any headliner. Gov Ball/Founders posted/tweeted about it somewhere. On mobile so do not have link.
When you get to a computer can you post the link? Because I couldn't find it
I just looked again and can't seem to find it either. I'm pretty sure it was a facebook post. Someone posted on their wall (or tweeted @ them) saying something like "Please do not put the Strokes at the same time as the other headliners" and they said that was the case. I think the person may have deleted their post once they got their answer... Sorry I can't do any better than that, but I can't seem to find it! Being that it was a response it may be somewhere in there (or in a comment).
Yeah you're probably right. Just looked at last year and they had:
Saturday Main Stage 1 Kendrick Lamar > Nas Main Stage 2 Kings of Leon > Guns N Roses
Sunday Mainstage 1 The Lumineers > no one Mainstage 2 Grizzly Bear > Kanye West note :The xx played in a sidestage during Kanye.
Kendrick > Nas supports your Axwell/Ingrosso > Skrillex idea.
Actually, on Sunday The Avett Brothers closed out mainstage 1, conflicting with Kanye. The xx played a side stage and ended before Kanye even came on.
My biggest fear, and it'll probably happen, is Phoenix conflicting with Outkast. I feel like the three nights will be Outkast vs. Phoenix, Strokes vs. Axwell & Ingrosso, and Jack White vs. Skrillex.

Ah you'd probably know better if you were there. I was just going based on the app.
