Pretty sure Foals are booked for all three days Gov Ball days. Unless they cancel two shows in France and a headline slot at Parklife in Manchester, they're not gonna be there.
And, speaking of Parklife, Damon's first real solo show had a crazy good setlist. Lonely Press Play Everyday Robots Tomorrow Comes Today History Song Hollow Ponds Slow Country Kids with guns Three Changes You and Me Photographs Kingdom of Doom Poison Hostiles El Mañana Out of time All your Life Clint Eastwood Mr. Tembo Heavy Seas of Love This is low
I'm pretty pissed doors for his show are at 10 when I assume the festival is still going.

I am not really sure. I'm thinking about maybe taking the ferry but not the brooklyn one. That may get you where you need but I've never done this fest so I wasn't sure what people prefer doing. I know some walked over the bridge but I'm trying to still figure out my plans.

Just spoke with some friends who went last year. Not sure about getting back to other boroughs, but apparently there is a cheap bus that takes you right across the bridge to the nearest subway stop in Manhattan. My friend said he waited for like 5-10 minutes for the bus, heading over right after the headliner ended (there are a lot of buses waiting). Apparently its $8.50 round trip each day ($2.50 subway each way and $3.50 bus transfer one way. The bus on the way back is free). My other friend walked about 1 mile over the bridge and then to the subway (for a $2.50 one way fare) and was happy with his choice.
Seems like the Manhattan ferry thing is a scam at $50 for the weekend.
The bus shuttle directly back to Brooklyn is $60. But the subway ride from 125th in Manhattan to Bk could be a long trip. If I'd drop coin on transport this is probably the only one that makes sense, especially if you're trying to get to Bk for some of the after shows. I wonder how long it takes for the shuttle to get to Bk...
Anyone want to try and have a Inforoo meetup when set times and stuff are released?
I bought a ferry pass stupidly before researching ways to get to the island. Oh well. I think i will be taking that Friday and Sunday, and i have a friend going saturday. After most of you have had your festival season begin i am so excited for this to get here and my festival weekends start!!!!!!!

I'm definitely walking over RFK Bridge. I think it's only a mile then I'll see if the subway is necessary or not. On Saturday I'll probably do the bus subway route since the Earlwolf show is at midnight.

If you are coming from Manhattan the walk over the RFK bridge is not bad at all. Maybe 15 minutes tops. Its a little longer coming from the Queens side, though.
I live in Astoria, so I'm walking over from Queens.
I used to live in the Bronx, and would walk over the Triboro (NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO CALL IT THE RFK BRIDGE) into Manhattan, and like manoverbard said it's about 15 minutes.
I've never seen those shuttles in my 2 years going, but if they exist that's probably the best play.
Sometimes the walking bridge from the Upper East is open, but they usually close it at night.
The ferry is overpriced and there's usually a nightmare wait one of the nights.
None of the after parties really do anything for me =/. Anyway didn't buy a ferry ticket and still planning on attending this fest by myself.. Ill most likely drive in on Friday, and then commute in and walk the bridge on Saturday and Sunday (if I can't sell off my Sunday ticket that is). It would be great to meet up with some inforoo peeps!
coming from penn station, what's the best/most direct train to take to the bridge?
There is nothing direct about going from NY Penn to Randall's Island/Triboro. Here are your options:
Take the E from Penn Station up and around to 51st street, get on the 6 and either take that all the way to 125th (it's a local) or take it to 59th and switch to the 4/5 (it's express). There are like 10 or something stops between 51sst and 125th, choose wisely.
You can take the 1/2/3 to 42nd street, then hop right onto the S (shuttle) train that goes to Grand Central. Then you can get on the 4/5 and take it up to 125th.
Or you can take the A/C/E to the 7, take the 7 to Grand Central, then get on the 4/5/6. It's all relatively equal in time, you have to take multiple trains no matter what and it's going to be clusterfucky.

Just saw on their Twitter that there won't be parking this year. Don't want you to expect driving in and be screwed when you get there.

Damn, where the shit is that schedule. All I need to know is if I'm gonna camp at the main stage all day for The Strokes and that depends on where Spoon are.
