I've been walking around New York all day hitting refresh on my phone. For my tastes, this is hugely disappointing. Probably selling my Philly tix if anyone is interested. I honestly don't know a lot of the undercard so I'll dig into it after the drive home tonight but probably just save the gas money and enjoy the cookouts at home.

Surprisingly my friends are considering going to this. I might go anyway just cuz it usually so hard for me to rally my friends for festivals - I'll take what I can get out of them. Gotta consider whether Kanye, KOL, The National, Pharrell, and City and Colour is worth it for the ticket, hotel and travel.

Also I just noticed that MIA's website has 6 slots for Philly listed as "coming soon." I'd assume one of those slots is for Young the Giant since they are currently touring with KOL and Kongos. But the rest are all probably bottom tier acts.
This is a great festival for $120. You all are nuts.
Since I can't decipher if sarcasm or not, I will assume this statement is sincere. I couldn't agree more, though. KOL, Kanye, The National, Spoon, & Pharrell alone for $117 is a steal. This is only a two day festival, so you're not going to get the same satisfaction from a lineup as you would get from a 'Roo-type festival.
And, my personal opinion is that Philly MIA lineup > LA MIA lineup. It doesn't even seem like a competition. Imagine Dragons as a headliner? It what universe have they put enough material out there to qualify them for such a headline gig? Not even quantity, but also quality. I think their material is mediocre at best - I will say Radioactive is a great single, but the album as a whole is average.
This type of fest isn't my normal thing. I'm a jam band guy and I knew going in that I wasn't getting any of that but I get into most everything and was hoping for that one band that I really wanted to see and didn't get any besides maybe Pharrell. The girlfriend gets more into this stuff and there isn't a lot that she wants to see so travel, babysitters, cash, etc just doesn't make it worth it to me. I skipped KOL at Hangout last year, can't stand Kanye personally, dig Spoon and the National but not a "wow I need to drop a ton on travel to see them" type dig. Its not horrible by any means but not worth it for me.
And totally agree. I've seen Imagine Dragons twice and it was a fun show but who ever thought they were a headliner is grossly overestimating their pull and catalog. Most people have seen them at local venues and their festival gigs last year and they aren't pushing new music that's out and hot.

Exactly my thoughts. Now that I'm not going to this I can save up money for Boston Calling in the fall.
not every festival is meant to appeal to the type of person who wants to attend every possible festival. many are put on with the idea that people who live within a 50 mile radius and wont travel extensively might attend.
as far as something regional for philadelphia goes, paying 120 for that lineup is terrific.
los angeles lineup is alright. shite rock bands and electronic music, as anticipated, but the hip hop is solid especially with the entirety of TDE there.

I was incredibly dissapointed with the lineup, but for some reason my friends really liked it so we all got tickets. Philly's only 2 hours from NYC so the commute is easy, and that $115 price tag is a steal. I'm looking forward to seeing Kanye, KOL, Pharrell and City and Colour.
Their website is updated with what I would imagine shows the acts for each day. Looks like i'll be heading down for day 2 of Phili. There has been day passes before correct?
So Sunday is most likely KOL/Aoki/Pharrell/Chomeo/City and Colour/Etc. Do we all think this is true?
Also there are a lot of "Coming Soon" slots for Philly (2 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday). It obviously isn't anyone big but any thoughts on the who/when of these?

Wow they took De La Soul off the Philly lineup and gave us no replacement. This wouldnt make me so mad if it werent for the fact that LA just got Kanye West and Iggy Azeala added. They got a 3rd freaking headliner added?? I imagine they did this because ticket sales may not be what they were hoping for. But still they gotta do something with Philly, we only have 33 acts when last year there were 45.
sold my 2 day pass but still had been debating going Saturday but those additions for me are really weak. gonna be a whole different kind of vibe this year it seems like.
oh shit Kane is a big upgrade from De La Soul! tons of classic like RAW, Mortal Kombat, Long Live Kane, Set It Off, Wrath Of Kane. if hes on Saturday im gonna be tempted a little more
friend of mine hooked me up to work as a barback for the fest getting paid very nicely. get to stay after the shift ends at 7 too but i noticed teh schedule still isnt listed yet? 2 weeks away and no schedule is pretty bad but at least they are consistent with the terrible organization of this fest. would like to see who i will be able to see when i get done and try to plan my mini breaks around who is palying the mid card.
