Reports today make it sound as if they are moving the festival to LA and leaving Philly in the dust. But based on the presale yesterday for Philly we can just chalk this up to lazy journalists failing to do actual research right?

Agreed. It seems like the same article popping up about how their "switching coast" and "moving the festival". Im thinking its more along those lines of being simultaneously held on both coast.

We'll figured it would happen, but it wont be "relocated" from Philly.
Also im expecting to get Kanye in Philly this year. Jay and B will headline LA most likely. LA getting all the cool stuff is going to piss me off.
would be a bad idea to leave Philly and just go with LA then yu have to compete with Lolla and Outside Lands to an extenet which are much better and bigger fests. but obviously any reporter saying Philly is out is an idiot seing how there has been a presale the last 2 days
i think Kanye is a good chance, really good chance at this point. Just hope other is Foo Fighters or Muse but i could see someone like Fleetwood Mac in there too

There is usually no older classic rock act. I think your right with the Foos or Muse, with hopes and prayers going towards the Foos.

FM doesn't make sense for Philly since they're playing 2 shows in Philly in October.
If it's between Muse and FF I'd much rather have Muse. FF are too much of a snooze fest :kanyeshrug:

Muse said they were only playing one US festival this year... That was Coachella... Foo Fighters are likely candidates for the LA edition. I say they are doubtful for Philly since they would have just played under an hour away in Delaware at Firefly a month and a half earlier.

Muse said that awhile ago and seemed like they werent 100% in the interview when they said it. Also Beyonce played Made when she had a Philly show either soon after or soon before last year, so I wouldnt necessarily say that counts the Foos out. They can do Firefly, Made, and then a Philly stop towards the end of the tour and it wouldnt be impractical.

For Philly I say we are looking at Kanye, Coldplay, Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, Eminem, or Jack White as your likely headliners.
My presale tickets will be for sale if any of those 2 combine for our headliners. Been there done that with all of them besides Coldplay which, well no thank you.

Realistically, who would your ideal headliners be?
Not trying to start an argument or anything, I'm just genuinely curious. There's a 95% chance a pairing of the bands listed above will be headlining

* 1. Outkast (overseas at time) Foos 2. Eminem (not touring an album) Jack White 3. Muse Kanye 4. Wu Tang Black keys
Firefly is in June so coming to PHilly at the end of August isnt going to affect anything tehre i dont think. i thought they did a good job last year with the lineup having a lot of bands i didnt see on too many or even any fest posters throughout the summer
The Black Keys have been pushing their new music from their new album quite heavily online and have only Hangout Fest as an American festival lined up. Could definitely see them as a headliner here although I'd prefer Foos, Arcade Fire, Muse, or Jack White to them. Coldplay and I might not even attend as this is a "hey theres a cool fets not too far away" kind of thing and not my normal festival.
they could in the mix since their tour ends mid july. i persoally hope not bcuz id like to able to say i saw their only show in the states since ill be at hangout
This was the worst run festival I attended last year. At the end of each night the vendors were running out of food/water and the amount of trash across the festival site was absolutely insane. The crowd was one of the worst crowds I've ever seen, the average age was at most 18. I can't tell you how many kids I saw getting taken out on stretchers last year, it was incredible.
However, the setup of the EDM stage is pretty nice, it's in a shaded little area and they had some really fun acts on there all weekend. The second stage (one to the right of the Rocky Stage) was in a weird spot, and the street running in front of it created a weird flow of traffic during shows. The Rocky Stage was pretty awesome and you could practically walk up to the first 20 rows during Queens of the Stone Age/NIN due to most of the crowd leaving after Calvin Harris.
Unless they make this fest 18+ I doubt I'll return this year.

I went the first year. While there were some definite improvements to be made, I didn't think it was that poorly run. I liked how there was a monument in front of the main stage to break up the crowd. I never had difficulty getting close for an act I wanted to see. I also enjoyed how screens streamed performances from other stages as you were waiting for an act to take stage.
couldnt agree more and i think i said it on the first page how bad the crowd was, way too many kids passing out all throughout the days it was a joke. i also could not find any charging stations despite the map showing several of them. I hate where the main stage is it really takes away from it bcuz its too close to the stage. there is no way i should have to watch it on the screen behind the fountain when im less than 100 yards away from the stage. i also think they let ion way too many people for the size of the site too would be much better if they cut it by 5-8k. i did like the walking beer vendors though and the budweiser taste tent was also cool. hopefully in year 3 they get it all figured out
