Fuck, he does love some Skrillex! Lucky for him ol' Skrilly is doing a 2 night run in Nashville at one of our shittiest venues! I'll scroll through some of the older posts and see if that answers my plethora of stupid questions! I'm so fucking excited I could shit myself!
Hey now, WMA isn't THAT bad, I really enjoyed seeing Atoms For Peace there.

I would recommend against shitting yourself. It never leads anywhere good.
Anybody decide on Transfigurations? The weekend passes sold out. I'm going to the show at the Mothlight on the 28th: Pete Swanson, Container, Profligate, and Bitchin' Bajas.

I was all set to go but I'm having to cancel it in order to keep Hopscotch on my list. My world has been topsy-turvy as of late. I'm just going to have to wait till Raleigh. On the plus side: 3 f*cking weeks.
That festival will be a blast though.
I think I got my day parties worked out.
Thursday DiggUpTapes, Apothecary, & Tiny Mix Tapes Present: Orientation in Space V
Tradition on my part.
Friday Three-Lobed Records/WXDU Day Show
I may run up to Slims after MV&EE to see Pipe & Spider Bags.
Saturday ‘Babes in Boyland’ a Day Party in support of Girls Rock NC

Eh, I went to Mavis Staples and thought the sound was like a school gym.
I may skip the day parties.....nothing is flipping my skirt as of yet. I'll do more research though. I am curious to check out a show at Legends, I used to go there in the early 90's on Monday for goth night. Did lots of unmentionable things in those bathrooms.......

I liked what I heard from Ghostt Bllonde, but the rest of the acts for that day party are unknown to me.
For me, the day parties are a plus. An added opportunity to catch a set of a band that I may miss due to conflict. Some of them have bands that aren't playing the festival proper. Some are outdoors, which is nice. I mean, who doesn't like food trucks.

I'll definately do more research. I've never met a food truck I didn't like.
Somehow, I knew that was coming. That show is always Hopscotch for me. It's probably more important than the Plaza Shows. I only say that because of her list.
The other thing I keep eyeballing is is the Museum Mash with Spacin' and Eternal Summers. Sadly, I haven't seen Pipe in almost 20 years. I'm due again.
Over a third of Hopscotch is local/regional artists. A lot of those bands play the day parties as well.
I discover 10x the amount of bands at this festival vs another festival in North America. I can think of a few bands that are in the national spotlight now after playing this the first few years.

Specifically for Phyre Fest, Sylvan Esso played last year and was in the bottom 1/4 of the line-up.

If anyone is going through Knoxville on the way and would be willing to give me a ride, it would be greatly appreciated. I have lodging once there and can throw in on gas. References as to not being a murderer can be provided on request.
