If this show was only Farrell and McAdams, the season would have been fine.
I feel like they needed about half of the story lines this season and it would've been much better.
It should've been, "Hey, a city official was murdered and it was spooky. Let's use this as an opportunity to expose corruption in an industry town. One of you cops is a tough-as-nails lady who had a terrible childhood and the other is a compromised alcoholic." or "A gangster was screwed out of millions of dollars. Now he's gotta work with the police to get his revenge."
Taylor Kitsch's character should've never been in it. I'm really struggling to see how he added anything to the story at all. Besides being super good at shooting people.
Was his Army buddy setting him up from the beginning? Or was he "caught" by Catalyst and then forced to drag in Kitsch? I was super confused about how that came about.

But who is the guy who shot him? I know he's involved with Vinci. Is he the police captain? I don't even know if this character has a name. That makes him like Stan. Poor Stan and his son who is pure gold who will never have anyone to play catch with.

The guy who shot him (Lt. Burris) has always been in the background of shots at the police department at any meetings they've had. Cody called it in like episode 2 that he was the one who was behind everything. Because he just floated around in the background in every important cop scene. Creepin.

Burris. One of the three Paul had figured out were involved with the heist during the L.A. riots. Lieutenant Burris, Chief Holloway, and Detective Dixon. They used those diamonds to buy their way into positions of power, through Caspere's former post as a city accountant.
Ani doesn't buy that they are behind the murder. It appears they just wanted to taint the investigation to keep their past dealings from being unearthed. Hence Dixon sabotaging things and blackmailing Paul. And Burris trying to close the case around that pimp from the shootout.

Also, I floated this by in the Random Thoughts thread but got no real response.....would you guys be interested in a sub-board for just TV/Movie talk? I think there's a way if we set the permissions just right that you would be able to talk about spoilers without them showing up in the "Recent Posts" section.
Basically it would require making a "member group" for TV/Movie watchers. Then ONLY people who are in that group can see/access the TV/Movies board and what is being discussed in it. People could join and leave the group as they please (for example....if you use Recent Posts but haven't seen the latest True Detective you could just leave the group until you did. Then ALL posts in the TV/Movie board would not appear in recent posts for you.).
Thoughts? Personally, I'm sick of clicking on a bunch of spoiler tags for episodes that have already aired. I get it if it's book .vs. show stuff or future episode spoilers but most of the discussion here is spoiler tags for regular discussion and I can't always tell whether I'm clicking on a legit spoiler (like Colin Farrell on the set after episode 3) or just discussion.

David Morse is way too big of an actor imo to have such a boring/small role in this season. I see him really being a big part of the finale.
Maybe more so in the UK but Kelly Reilly is well known too. Following your logic, she should have a bigger part then standing around being mopey and unpregnant. I'd put money on one of those two having a big revelation.
The children of the murdered jewelry store owners have the most strait forward motive. That would just be really lame. We don't even know the identity of the male and we've seen the woman twice.
I don't believe it's the mayor's son because he seemed to be working behind his father's back with Caspere.
One weird thing... Blake, Jordan and Laura(jewelry store girl) all have red hair. That's sort of an odd coincidence.
That filled in a ton of blanks. I'm down for multiple story lines/characters in a series/movie, but this season has been too much for me. Plus, I think the character development has been really poor. I don't give one rat's ass about anyone but Farrell.

I'm of the opinion that if you don't want to be spoilered, you don't read the thread. Discussion should be free in the threads. But I also don't view the Recent Posts section so I can see where that probably won't work for most people.

As someone who's constantly 5+ years behind on all TV series, I'd rather keep the spoiler tags as they are - although I do like the idea of a TV & film subforum in general.
If he turns out to be the kid from the old jewelry heist then yes. The girl in that picture was Caspere's assistant - so she either did it alone or with her brother - whoever that is.
