Lot of people mentioning Frank Ocean as a potential LN. I love Channel Orange but I think he would be an odd LN choice. I see him more as a What/Which late afternoon/early evening.
Could this be the year of LN What? I don't see where Phoenix and Skrillex fit into the schedule except for LN What
Skrillex totally can and has played in the day light. I don't know what he's rocking these days, but in 2012 he had two stage setups: the space ship that you saw at Roo that was meant for night sets; then he had a rig that I saw him use a few weeks later at Camp Bisco that was meant for the daylight. It was basically his logo actually lit on fire for the whole set with a ton of pyro going off in the forefront during the drops. So basically pyro instead of lasers. Here's a picture of it:
I see him playing the what stage right before Kanye. That way he gets partial darkness and plays on the big stage.
I am hoping this happens. I am really looking forward to both sets but, seeing both sets back to back or spending that much valuable LN time on consecutive nights on one artist would be difficult to do. I like having LN variety. Also, having to choose between either set and the either the Flaming Lips, The Glitch Mob, or Disclosure would be a tough one.
9-4 to 9-6 SummerDance Festival 9-20- St Paul and the Broken Bones 9-30 Ott 10-21 Emancipator Ensemble 10-22 ATB 10-23 W&W 10-28 STS9 11-18 Dan Deacon 11-21 The Werks/ Twiddle 12-4 Darude 12-8 The Revivalist 12-30 & 12-31 Decadence NYE (Denver) 1-17 Mr. Carmack 1-28 Yo La Tengo 2-9 TAUK 2-27 Lotus and Michal Menert 2-29 Beach House 3-3 to 3-6 Okeechobee Festival 5-9 King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard 5-23 DIIV
Unfortunately I think Darkside has no chance at LN unless its Thursday (otherwise, they get the SBTRKT/Four Tet treatment). I also see cut copy getting a tent closer evening slot or (cringe) a daytime which unfortunately. Cut copy into disclosure is the ideal situation for me though.
I see Flaming Lips as most likely the rock music which act (but I really hope they miraculously give it to Arctic Monkeys).

I can see the Flaming Lips close the Which Stage one night, I hear their show isn't as bombastic as it used to be where they would need a Late Night Spot.
I think Phoenix would be the ideal "big name LN Which" but I would take Arctic Monkeys as well.

Bonnaroo has a habit of carrying on the theme of tents into the late night.
With that in mind, I could see Omar Souleyman or Die Antwoord or even Disclosure in the GlobalFEST latenight tent on Friday. Are there any other international acts that have the potential?

Didn't Omar end up with a late night a couple of years ago? Originally it was Bootsy scheduled for that slot, then he got moved to the daytime. Personally, I'm holding out hope for Goat in one of the GlobalFEST late night spots.

Oh, that's a good point. I doubt they'd give Omar a LN set twice, but he seems perfect for the tent during the day. Goat would be huge as well.

I also have a feeling this will be the year the FLips don't get a late night and end up closing Which on Friday or Saturday.
Which : Kascade(Midnight - 1:15am) < Skrillex ( 2am-4am) This : Flaming Lips ( and Friends) ( 1am -4am) That : Disclosure ( 12:30- 1:45am) < Un-Named Band / Additon( STS9, Big Gigantic, etc.) ( 2:30-4:30am) Other : YMSB ( Midnight-130am) < Umphrees McGee( 2am-430am)
Sat-
Which : Zedd (Midnight - 115am) > Skrillex and Friends ( 230am - 4am) This : SuperJam " ?"( 1am-3am) That : Wiz Khalifa ( Midnight - 115am) < Pusha T ( 145 - 315am) Other : Cut Copy ( 12:30- 145am) < Chromeo (215-345am)
I don't think the Flips would be in a tent based on the last few times they've played Roo
Agreed, I'm not really a fan of the Flaming Lips, but they are too big to play a tent.
Do you think the Skrillex Superjam would be in a tent? Superjams tend to be in tents, but I feel like that would be a huge clusterfuck as well. I'd be pissed though if Skrillex took up both nights of Late Night Which.

i feel like the Skrillex Superjam will be placed depending on where and when Skrillex has his main set

Last time they played which the crowd was MASSIVE, and I should point out they were directly conflicting with both the black keys, bassnectar, and.. I think Daryl hall and chromeo? And not even those ridiculous conflicts could thin out that crowd

^ I am normally against saying uncertain things with certainty but I would almost bet the ranch on Flaming Lips playing the Which (or possibly What) before one of the headliners.

I haven't looked up videos of the Flaming Lips new live show yet, as I'm trying to avoid spoilers but... they do have some type of fancy lightshow still, no? It would be a shame for them to play in daylight

I really can't think of a festival where someone played on a stage after the lips on that day. Too much confetti (its black now) and other stuff to take down.

I was at All Good in 2012 when they had their old show and Galactic played after them about an hour later.

They have toned down the size if the light show (I saw them in Mexico at one big holiday, and the stage was smaller. that the which) but it is still pretty elaborate. Lots of rope lights that change color and lighting patterns with the music, and a rig of colored spotlights that goes up and down around the band as they play. I would say worhout the lights, something would def. Be missing. But their set, musically, was excellent as well.

Touche. Ya, this makes sense for a festival with more open times I guess. I just really want them to play till sunup. Like, more then anything in the world (in terms of music wants that are possible).
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
