I thought these two were a big step up from the four earlier this year. I still don't think he'll ever be as good as Acid Rap was ever again though
I so wish I'd seen him when he was touring Acid Rap.
Honestly it’s crazy, cos I’ve seen him 4 times now, including a fest sub-headlining set, a fest headlining set, and his own show. But the first time I saw him - which was when he was still touring Acid Rap, and played a fest set in the early evening - is still my favorite time seeing him by far. No crazy production, just him and his band absolutely killing it.

2019 Shows: 4/30 - Vampire Weekend 6/28 - Father John Misty & Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit 9/6 - Cardi B w/ Teyana Taylor 9/28 - Vulfpeck w/ The Fearless Flyers
His first Bonnaroo show was a top ten all-time show for me.
That was 2014, right? I always wish I'd started going then!
Yup! I caught him again later that year and met with him for a photo op before a show, which was also pretty high energy. After Coloring Book came out he had a production that involved puppets and it was a little distracting/overly choreographed, but when I caught him at Boston Calling 2016 I thought he was still pretty great. I'd say at this point compared to his Acid Rap shows he's a little less hungry but still has a commanding stage presence. His production has stepped up a bit and now he plays Ultralight Beam, which is everything. I'll still catch him any chance I get.

Nice pic! That sounds awesome. I'll admit I really was not a fan of the 2017 Roo set, which is the only time I've seen him, but I've seen other live videos of him from the Acid Rap era and thought it looked great. I still enjoy his music though, his newest songs are pretty good!

Young Earth Creationism is kinda similar to being a flat-earther where, like, it's obviously stupid but it's kinda in a funny way as well. Like I definitely disagree but I can live with this as long as it doesn't morph into gay-bashing and Christian Zionism or anything more actively damaging like that

Yea, it doesn't really bother me that much. It just kind of makes me look at public figures a little less highly when you find out they believe the earth is flat or dinosaurs roamed the lands with Adam & Eve and junk like that. People unwilling or unable to believe the science behind this stuff make me question what other oddball beliefs they have.
Creationism is so much more real and damaging than flat earthers.
Any kind of rejection of science by large public figures in youth culture is bad. Kids are impressionable, at best he's delusional, at worst he's trolling children as an adult with influence.
Don't have Twitter, but what's the result of the poll?
Mama is leading by a lot. I voted science and was disappointed with the results.
Edit: just double checked. Science is in last place with like 23%. Mom is 50% and your hand is 27%
It's obviously a joke poll, I wouldn't put too much stock in the results being representative of anything. Science definitely isn't right all of the time - it's usually wrong actually until better theories come along. Your hand is only right 50% of the time. Mom is probably the choice I'd make too.
I don't have a problem with Young Earth shit in the sense that the belief itself probably isn't going to really hurt anyone - someone will probably correct me but I can think of any obvious actions on that belief that could be taken that would have damaging effects. Other than raising kids who will grow to have similar wacky beliefs. The deeper issue is undermining scientific validity. While it's not right all of the time, it usually is our best guess, and that's important to have a significant degree of faith in, paired with some skepticism.

Chance makes it really hard to like him as a person tbh
Go on...
This is the second time he’s delayed an album without notice (TLOP which wasn’t even his album). It’s just really hard to root for him to do well when doesn’t seem to respect his fans or people waiting to enjoy his work.
Agreed. I'm officially downgrading my status from Stan to Fan. Acid Rap is one of my all-time favorite albums but ever since he blew up he's just gotten more complacent and more corny. Tbh I think him working with Kanye inflated his ego a bit. And last night I fell asleep on the couch trying to stay up for his album to drop even though I had to be up at 5:30. Eventually woke up around 1:30, checked to see if the album was out cuz I still wanted to listen to a few songs, and realized it hadn't even dropped yet. Ended up getting four hours of sleep. And he can't even bother to shoot out a tweet or anything letting us know what the holdup is? Nah. Disrespectful.
