Definitely took one for the team. I had to run some volunteers to the shuttle pick up and now I'm completely soaked through.... If it wasn't muddy earlier. It's a total fucking mud fest now. Y'all have fun setting up in this mess!!!
I was waiting for enough info to decide whether or not to buy boots. I believe this is it.
Last week, looking at the forecast, I figured there would at least be "some" rain. I took that as the impetus to go buy some new muck boots. Decided to spend the money on some higher quality ones that would be more comfortable for all day walking if need be, and would keep my feet a bit cooler than the regular rubber ones… Plus, I'm going to need them for the fall anyway, so at least I have that out of the way now.
cheapo shower curtains from job lot/biglots whatever your local the-truck-crashed-and-we-bought-the-damaged-goods store work well as a last minute mudfest sit on 'blanket'.

I am so jealous of everyone going to this mudfest. I have had extreme heat, perfection, and moist. But what you all are about to embark on is the one I have always hoped for. Sigh.
My only suggestion is to sleep in your car with the windows down (if its not raining).......Forget the dang tents. It's an illusion to see all those tents out there...
This confirms what we're all seeing more and more. It's gonna be off and on rain most of the festival, but hopefully we'll get some sun in there. It can never be as bad as 2004, just know that. Hope everyone stays safe!
Dear God, please do not let my car get stuck in the mud... that is what makes me most anxious.
Quacker and I got a Class A RV bus stuck in the mud Monday morning 2012. Thoughts were oh Fuck this is going to take hours... Call for a tow.. wait wait wait.. Ten minutes later with a few wonderful pushers and this amazing dude hand signaling me how to turn the wheel like a crazy women back and forth while gassing it.. we were out! Do NOT let getting stuck in mud stress you! If four men and us could get a massive frickin RV out, a car will be nothing!

This makes me feel better. I have a tiny car, and it's just me, so it's not like I'll be super weighed down but... ugh. That sounds like a panic attack waiting to happen!

This! I just got my car back yesterday after it spent 3 weeks at a body shop 100 miles away. I hit a deer on the interstate on my way home from my last festival. The last place I want to take it is a giant mud hole with cars sliding around and getting stuck.

I've had hopes that the weather would be clear up for the past week. Never held my hopes up too high, but now I'm coming to terms that it will be wet and muddy this weekend. Time to prepare more.

Does anyone think the mud will dry enough to turn into a giant dust bowl? I'm trying to decide if I should bring my dust mask for the walks later in the weekend.

The way things are looking, there might be too much humidity for dust to pick up. I just can't see mud turning to dust in just the weekend, especially if it rains everyday which looks likely.

Doubtful. It's rained almost every day for the past week. The ground is pretty saturated at this point.
Current radar image of Middle Tennessee rain is moving toward the top right corner of the image. The plus mark is my location but Bonnaroo is due north from there.
