Damon Albarn set into motion a series of Bonnaroo moments that kept building on the last. When Del the Funky Homosapien came out, I was in awe. Then Lionel Richie blew me away with his energy, stage presence, and ability to get my butt moving. Jack White absolutely blew the night wide open with his extended set. I was then lucky enough to stumble into Nick Cave's intense performance, his glare penetrating into the deepest parts of my being. Darkside had me traversing layers of my own soul, their music reflecting off of me exactly like those spotlights on the giant mirror. Energized, I walked over to Kaskade and danced my butt off until 5am. I walked back to camp, which I was referring to as home by this point, staring at the fledgling sunset, trying to comprehend this series of events.
This all culminated Sunday morning, Lake Street Dive. Rachel Price's expressive voice combined with my sudden realization of everything that had transpired over the weekend had me in tears. It was all downhill from there. Not even Elton John could top that string. I'll never forget those 14 hours for as long as I live.

Watching my brother high five his way into centeroo under the arch for the first time was really awesome to see. It was his first Bonnaroo.
Also my wife and I are expecting our first child in just over a month, she of course didn't make the trip. But during two songs I lost a little control of my emotions thinking about her and what's to come. From the pit I watched Head & The Heart finish with Rivers and Roads with someone behind me blowing bubbles that floated all around me. The second moment was again in the pit for Avetts. We are big fans and during their last two songs my eyes started to water. Both very special moments I will never forget.

1. Being second row in the pit for Jack White. Easily the best moment of the whole fest.
2. Being my first time to roo I didn't really know what to expect entering centeroo. Within 30 min of passing under the arch the big VW bug drove by us. The lady with the megaphone pointed right at me and said "We love you because you love music!". While I know she was probably told by Bonnaroo to say such things and she probably said it to tons of people, I also knew I was home.
my friends and I organized a 70+ person group hug at the front left of the flaming lips. it was beautiful, I cried.
just being at die antwoord finally with the possibility of them canceling was really special for me and my gf. whoever was holding up the Ross totem stayed near me so my friends could find us in the crowd. they were awesome people.
my entire campsite of 26 people all saw elton john together which was amazing
starting a wave in the comedy tent during Hannibal burress on Thursday. that thing went around like 10 times.
Almost getting sucked into the mosh pit at Ty Segall when Boner reached out his hand and pulled me to the rail where I could hold on and still enjoy the insanity around me without getting kicked in the face. Then at one point, seeing Dave Maynar make his way back to us, I assumed he had enough. Turns out he just wanted to hand off his glasses so he could go fuck shit up even more. It made me laugh so hard. I would never see a show like that normally but I am so happy I did that night. Following that up with an Amish Pretzel and the bonnaroo feels came on pretty damn hard.

One of the best moments of bonnaroo this year happened at Deafheaven. I really wanted my friend to come to the show with me who was only a casual fan, and he never really understood why I liked them so much. I left disclosure early for a good spot at Deafheaven and he stayed behind. Midway through Sunbather I felt someone tap on my back and it was him , he looked at me and screamed "I FINALLY GET IT NOW, THEIR MUSIC IS PURE BLISS IN THE MIDST OF CHAOS. THIS IS BRILLIANT. THIS IS SOME 10/10 SHIT" and he stayed the rest of the show and it ended up being his favorite show of the weekend. I was so happy he finally understood why I liked them so much
Standing in the back of the pit during Elton John and all the sudden a group of like 8 people stand right in front of me and hand me a cold beer. It's Skrillex, Paul Peck, and his entourage. Watched the entire show with Skrillex. Could hardly resist grabbing his ass.
That's so bad@ss that happened to you of all people.

My fourth Roo and first time in the pit for Umphreys when a customer at my restaurant walks right up to me. I've run into him at 2 shows at home, the first one we kinda were like, "hey I know you right?" The second we were mildly amused. But when I saw him in the pit, 16 hours from home, we both burst out laughing. It was too ridiculous, one of those moments where I finally felt like I was at Bonnaroo.

i had my own selfish reasons. You were in the line of fire for my entrance to the mosh pit, so instead of bulldozing you over, I thought I'd play nice Canadian and offer you my safe haven space on the rail. But you are welcome either way!

My favorite part of that exchange was how she turned you down at first then dove for the rail when she figured out what that show was about.

Starting a onesie dance party during Vampire Weekend. I was in a Winnie the Pooh onesie, dancing with our Winnie the Pooh totem, when suddenly a bunch of fellow onesie-wearing people joined me. A girl began to choreograph everything and I led the charge by dancing around with my totem, freaking surreal. Later in the set, I clapped the hands of every single person in a huge conga line of people dancing.
Waking up Sunday morning after only a couple hours sleep to someone singing Weezer. I walk out my tent to my camp mates sitting in a circle playing acoustic guitar singing. it was a truly magical moment. I wish I could wake up that peacefully every morning. *sighs*

We made it in to Bonnaroo pretty late Thursday night and I was in a shity mood cause of it, I had already missed Real Estate and Cloud Nothings which I had really been looking forward too. Once I finally made it to That Tent halfway through Omar Souleyman's set this awesome dance circle started right in front of me and I couldn't help but join, completely made me forget about everything else. BONNAROOOO!!

Getting the setlist for Those Darlins. I saw them on Mumford's tour last year and fell in love with them. There were a lot of people in their crowd who liked their music, but also a bunch who were clearly only there for A$AP Ferg later. So walking away with a flower from the stage and the setlist being like "this is the reason I was here haha bye" made me grin so much.
The sing-a-long during We're Going to Be Friends was also incredible.

I have a few from this year.
1.Brunch - I wish I would have opened up and talked to more people. But the people I did talk to were great. It was awesome to finally put some faces to screen names. Also the parade over to Centeroo and the ceremony for Whoresack was something special. I have kept the little flyer with the picture of Mike and the MMJ lyrics in my wallet since Roo.
2.My random interactions/converations with different people throughout the festival. This year my normal crew wasn't able to attend and although I rode down with a couple of people from my hometown, I basically did Roo solo once I got on the farm. At times I missed my normal festival friends, but it did give me a chance to just talk to people that I normally wouldn't if I was in a group. (Shout out to the middle aged guys from Alabama before St Paul & BB; we basically just had a dick measuring contest to see who has seen the best shows, and the guy who was the only guy in my general area rocking out as hard as me during Cloud Nothings.) It was great to strike up a convo with fellow music lovers and just bs in between sets.
3. As mentioned before when the rain fell shortly after Dr. Dog played The Truth
4. On Saturday, I went to see High And Mighty Brass Band. There was literally no one in the Which Field about 30 minutes to showtime. I went over to the pit line and met some great people waiting in line for Cage the Elephant and Cake. It was great just talking to these people, sharing some corn. I even got a got majority of them to come into the High and Mighty pit, because I told them/they realized they pretty much could get right back in line whenever they wanted at that time of day. The dance party in the pit for that show was a fun time.
5. When Elton ended and I had that bittersweet feeling that I always have on Sunday Night walking through the arch for the last time. Walking back to camp I was craving an Amish Donut and as I am walking to the stand on Shakedown/Pod 3. I hear kick ass jam music, then see Jahman Brahman killing it. I ran back to my campsite and grabbed a bunch of booze, ran back and partied for like two more hours. I never in my three years prior hit the after parties on Sunday night, that was a blast.

I waited on Friday from 2pm for the Kanye pit. When I finally got in, around 930, I looked around at all the beautiful, excited, happy faces, and thought to myself " I'm so happy to be alive. I'm so happy to be here. Me, and the 80 thousand people here are having, literally, the best time in the world right now."
And then I bellowed out my first freaky cry of "BONNAROOOOOOOOOO!"

for me it was thursday i was pretty drunk but still had common sense of what i was doing. i was just in a great mood just high fiving everyone as we enter center roo i was running jumping what ever to reach for that high 5, had this british guy and his friends come up to me to say hi and get a high 5. guy was like man i hope i get to have as much fun and be as sweaty as you are , i was wearing this thunder cats snapback and we had a whole thunder cats chant in line. second moment might have been smoking a joint by the cafe where stage as i was watching lionel end his set. all the sudden right behind me the black cadillacs just start jamming and i went from nice and mellow to i wanna rock the quack out
When Kanye did his Blood On The Leaves encore. One of my favorite tracks from him, and I remember when he was doing Bound 2 thinking WTF he didn't do Blood on the Leaves.... then all a sudden the smoke filled the stage, and the Nina Samone sample started coming in. One of the hypest moments for me. I definitely had chills.
Also during Chances set, I ate a certain sour patch watermelon someone gave me that night about a half hour before, and I just remember waving my arms back and forth with the crowd singing along to "Everybody's Something" and it felt so magical.
