Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Did rv for the first time and I'm never looking looking back.
I will make sure my group listens to more bands ahead of time. There was a couple shows I brought them to and they wanted to leave after 10 minutes. I still stayed and had a blast but I wish they had more fun.
I finally found out how to properly pace myself so I'll do that again. Didn't black out / pass out at all which happened too much in the past.
So basically do nothing different.
I want to do RV but damn I am too poor. I know my friends won't want to split the cost of a rental so I would have to front the entire thing.

A few things I need to work on for next year so that by the time year 5 comes along (2017) everything will be smooth.
1) More food at camp site. I stayed at my camp site until 4 each day so it'd be nice to have full meals and not be hungry when we go in around 4:30.
2) Dry Ice. Sick of buying a bag of ice every day to have it gone by sunset
3) Air mattress in tent. I'm finally giving up on my boy scout days in order to save my back and have the flexibility to dance more.
4) Maybe try and get one more friend to make the trip down. It's so fun when people recognize we are all the way from NH. Wish more New Englanders would go to Bonnaroo and get the stick out of their asses that they have all year.
5) Dance more. I definitely was on the ground more than expected and would like to have more energy to dance more. I'll be eating a healthier diet and trying to get fit again so I can have the energy that I had in 2013 and 2014.
I split it 6 ways and we had just enough room for everyone to sleep comfortably. Getting to sleep while someone was driving was amazing. There is no way I could have stayed up until sunrise back to back nights without the ac in the rv.

I'm never coming in on Hillsboro Hwy again, 2 years in a row on those damn back roads is enough. I'll go past 127 to the next exit and come back up from now on (unless someone has a better way of avoiding the east tollbooth). Hopefully, that will allow me to get to tent only as well. Each of the last 2 years my plan has been to get there, but then I haven't pulled into my parking spot in pod 10 until 10ish and at that point it is just too hot and too far to lug stuff. I still need to be more social with neighbors/at brunch/waiting for shows. I tend to get there at some point, but it takes a few drinks. I like my solo rooing and all, but I need to find a better way to meet up with some of you other inforooers for shows once in a while.
This was my post from last year. Going past 127 definitely worked, waited for only about an hour in the interstate line (got to it about 10:15pm) and ended up in POD 3 Camp Adrien! I definitely feel like I was more social at brunch this year, but was pretty drunk by the end and missed a few shows for a much needed sobering up nap under a tree in centeroo...prob just need to stick to beer next year.
I'm definitely doing Camp Inforoo no matter what next year. With such a great camping spot this year it seemed like a shame to steal room in tent only when I arrived but screw it I want to hang out with those folks more without first having to find the motivation to get out of my camp in the late mornings/early afternoons. Other than that, I feel like I've got my 'Roo routine down pretty well four years in, saw most of 30ish shows again this year.
I seem to have my camping stuff down, what to pack, etc. I think the only thing I will change is ... my weight. bonnaroo 2014, I was almost 25lbs heavier than I was this year. I still have another 33lbs to go before I hit my fitness goals and would like to see that happen for bonnaroo 2016. I think if I could make that happen, it would really make it easier on me for the humidity.
In 2014, I didn't really know how to jump around from set to set, and I learned some new tricks this year. I'll definitely be putting that into use in 2016.
I'll also hit up the merchandise on day 1. I went on sunday and they were sold out of little kids shirts. I ended up expediting a kid tee yesterday so my son doesn't realize it didn't come from bonnaroo (even though it came from the website, he wanted it from the actual bonnaroo) - he's 4 so he won't REALLY know the difference. Also, they had nothing but adult tee's in XL or bigger. I had to buy one for myself online but did buy the white shirt that said "bonnaroo state of mind" with the squiggly line for night time lounge wear while on the farm.
I won't buy a fancy bubble blower bc it crapped out day 1 and I just threw it away.
I WILL, forever, bring extra tarps to Bonnaroo. I helped out my neighbors by loaning them one (it was their first year) and ended up making shade from my tent to heidee/ashley's tent with one of the tarps.

Once again, I need to quit getting wrapped up in trying to see a show in every spot in the schedule. I had a few throughout the weekend that I just wasn't into, but I either toughed it out or walked around trying to find another show. By Sunday, it was harder to get into shows that I was actually excited about because I had spent a lot of energy watching shows that I was so-so on. Sometimes, you just need to find a spot in the shade and sit down.

Me for Against Me. I wanted to in the tent a few rows back for them. I decided to sit in the shade and listen to them. That was much needed energy to help me through Friday

No one would describe me as being "in great shape" by any stretch of the imagination, but for the past few months leading up to Roo I did a lot of distance walking at the gym, at a decent clip. Not running, just walking pretty fast. I give the treadmill a bit of an incline then walk for a full hour. It takes a while but by the end I'm pouring sweat and have burned a ton of calories and feel amazing. Then I would go do some minor upper body strength training.
I figured the distance walking would help with stamina at bonnaroo, and it really worked! I had noticeably more energy this year, and even when I got home I still had energy and felt great. Anyway I'm just one out of shape guy but I recommend trying distance walking, if you are anything like me and running is too hard on your legs.

Besides my #1 fix for next (actually going), this is a big one. We drive down from NY and none of our friends will go. We had one friend say he was actually thinking about going back to the farm this year, but when he heard we weren't going he decided to go to Gov Ball instead. And he's moving cross country soon, so I doubt we'll be able to recruit him for next year.
No one believes me when I say the drive really isn't that bad.

For the 10 years I've gone, I've always got down there a day early, on Wednesday, so I can relax and take it easy for a day before the madness begins. That way I'm not rushing/driving and tired as soon as I set foot on the farm. For next year, I think I'm also going to take a day of vacation after the fest and spend it relaxing in Nashville. This year's drive back to Ohio was rough. I was weary from the four days of the fest, plus there was a ton of 'roo traffic on the road the entire way, in addition to a bunch of wrecks that slowed everything down. That will be my change.

Probably just going to come in Thursday afternoon next year. Getting in Wednesday night was nice my first year because I was so excited to just explore. I really hated waiting in line for hours this year just to set up camp at 3am and get an extra night of shitty tent sleeping.
I'm going to day park each day and make the drive from Nashville. It's only an hour drive and I get to sleep in my own bed and take a shower each night. Also, I'll try to stay for the Sunday headliner for once.
I definitely think i am going to try and do VIP next year. Hoping for a decent raise and bonus to support this. Also going to argue more for people to join me. I'm real upset none of my friends came and saw Jaime XX (which is incredible) and Atomic Bomb (they all went to MMJ.......). Just upset i have no one in person to share that experience with.
I was 100% happy with my decisions as far as seeing bands go. Got a great spot for everything I wanted to really see, got a good chill spot for everything I wanted to just check out, and left anything I wasn't feeling (Freddie Gibbs & Dej Loaf were pretty sad, was not feeling those live shows at all). Also just cut out anything I wanted to see but didn't HAVE to see so I could enjoy the bands more important to me. But as far as camping goes, I do look forward to doing Tent Only again.....but I gotta avoid getting put in Pod 1. That lockdown on Wednesday was bad, and Pod 1 feels so separated from the rest of Bonnaroo. Also I need to make my camp site more comfortable. Waking up every morning was pretty rough. I literally paid 10$ to take a shower every morning this year to get myself going. But it was worth it, because those showers with the speakers were amazing. Only being awake 15 minutes and dancing to "i" in the shower was pretty great.
I stayed out Thursday night seeing shows until like 2. We just had twins so I haven't been sleeping much. I felt like it was mandatory to get some good sleep on Thursday night or I would be spent the whole weekend. And I had not camped at Bonnaroo since 2004 so I couldn't remember exactly how hard that would be. So I took 2 Benadryl on the walk back to the campsite on Thursday night. I woke up at 10:24 on Friday morning in a daze, still needing to get ready and make sweet tea for the brunch. I made it but I was about 30 minutes late and kind of out of it. Maybe just the one Benadryl next year.

I was impressed with the solar showers you can get on Amazon for $10-$20. We used one every day and I never paid for a shower (though I did shower at a local friend's house on Sunday morning).

yeah, similar. basically thursday from strand of oaks until about halfway through jungle i was just ping ponging back and forth from band to band.
friday was even worse because it was much longer and I started out by standing around at brunch for a couple hours. saturday I was so physically exhausted and had so much foot pain i felt awful for most of the day, and even stuff I wanted to see felt "meh."

I'm keeping this in mind. I have the gym membership but made excuses all year. I'm not letting anything dampen my enjoyment next year that's in my control

I'm done wasting money on camp food, next year I only take my 150 qt and leave my 50 qt at home.
In the 150: 50 lbs dry ice 40 lbs wet ice 12 pack frozen bottled water 4 jugs spring water 12 apples Homemade hummus pita bread Frozen ice pops - classic summer pool edition
Nothing. Fucking. Else. No more random bagged veggies, no more chips and salsa, no more wasted space and cash. With all the delicious treats inside roo and a community food pile that resembles a klump family reunion sampler, I'm done wasting precious cheddar on easily spoiled .. cheddar.

I'm going to SLEEP. I had to leave half way through mumford because I was exhausted and just not enjoying anything, then woke up the next morning really bumming about all I missed that night. But after that sleep sunday was in my opinion the most fun I had that weekend! I'm only 21 and I've already got this whole "i don't know how these kids do it." attitude.

Last year, we went prepared to cook all of our own meals and ended up throwing most of it away. It's too much of a pain in the ass. This year we took bagels/cream cheese, apples, oranges, and some various crackers for snacks. Saved a lot of cooler space for our beer, liquor, and water. No regrets.
