A buddy was having a house party this weekend and ready for it to end, so we started playing Slayer and the entire house cleared by the end of Raining Blood. I recommend it.

I used to play bass in an local alt rock band. At one of our shows some guy in the small club wouldn't stop screaming SLAYER! in between songs. It was very obnoxious. But I have to admit, I am looking forward to actually belting out some SLAYER! yells in centeroo Saturday. Not at any other artists sets though
Oh man, I forgot to post in here after Shaky Knees. There was a guy at Shaky Knees (on Saturday I think) and he was wearing an "I love Slayer" shirt and I was pretty hammered so every time I saw him, I would yell something about Slayer and my love for them and how awesome he was for wearing that shirt. That guy single handedly got me more excited for Slayer at Roo than anything else has.
I mentioned this earlier, I realized in tracking the number of bands I have seen live that I could make Slayer # 666 at roo. Well it looks like there's a problem. I'm going to Shaky Knees before roo and then all the bands I would see at roo before Slayer plays. If Slayer were Fri. night this would definitely happen. As of right now I'm going to be over by 5 or 6. Should I skip out on some shows to make this happen? I am seriously considering it.
I think you should talk to someone about your ocd, its making life a lot tougher than it needs to be
Just caught my first Steel Panther show a few weeks back and had a blast! Drank like I was in my young 20's again!
Since we are on the topic... I Used to love Steel Panther (Metal Skool as they were originally at the Key Club in LA) shows. I would go to them all and... well the picture speaks for itself.

Not sure! I have a feeling lots of people might be leaving Mumford once they realize they suck. The chance to see Slayer and D'Angelo from the rail could be one of the best nights ever and I don't want to quack it up
Ok. Two hours.
Watch them play something really shitty form the PA while we wait. Like Celine Dion's greatest hits.
I'm imagining them playing the audio to Mumford and Sons ongoing set while we wait and that thought is hilarious

How's this working out for you, Sang?
I posted my schedule (numbered) in the who are you seeing thread. Slayer is # 666. If I miss anything, I'm sure there are a few I didn't count somewhere in there. So I'm going to call it done.

Stay away from any and all pop up surprise shows before Saturday night, sang_xcx. If someone starts playing guitar and singing at brunch just walk away.

GLAM BABY!
That's awesome! I've never had the chance to see them unfortunately. On the to do list.

Quick Slayer story:
I'm under the tent when Slayer opens and a pit immediately forms right next to me. The crowd backs way up and gives the moshers plenty of room. For just a moment the pit kind of dies down but there is still this huge open space. In to the big open pit walks a guy with a large fake mustache, a comically huge sombrero, and one of those mexican blankets draped around his shoulders. He begins slowly dancing and playing air guitar. Me and this guy next to me are just staring at him, and I remarked "this is what happens in the pit when Slayer plays bonnaroo". Shortly thereafter the sombrero dude is joined by a guy dressed like Captain Crunch and the pit erupts again.
Fucking awesome show. Made my weekend to hear Tom Araya say, "How do you do Bonnaroo?" in a sing songy voice like he's goddamn Les Claypool or something. Highlight as always for me was "Disciple", love hearing a Roo crowd scream "god hates us all".

Any chance this is why he laughed at 2 points during the show while he was singing? I really need to know what that was about

The pit near me featured a guy running around acting scared while throwing up peace signs to everyone who bumped into him and another guy wearing a white unicorn inflatable pool toy around his waist.
