I saw the pedigree and some lyrics in one of those endless Rolling Stones you get from buying concert tickets and caught myself having one of those automatic huge eye rolls.
I saw them the day before Governors Ball this year and their opener was better than they were. It might have been because we were in a bad spot in the venue but I'm pretty sure it was generic psych rock, if there is such a thing.

Got that from Gramatik.net. So if they aren't just reporting a generic time , he's got a badass Friday early slot, I'm guessing Float Den which means it probably conflicts with something big on power plant, maybe a rap act. Buku usually has conflicts. I wonder if we will get an Exmag set? I wouldn't hate on that.
YO ESTEBAN! Amigo! Not sure if you checked STS9 website but lookls like they are down for 2 sets... one Friday and one Saturday. See you there bruh

Since it is on both dates, it is just probably a generic filler since they aren't supposed to be announcing time slots until the cubes are released. I have never seen someone have multiple sets at BUKU in the past. Also, if you click the ticket/info button it takes you to thebukuproject.com to purchase tickets.

STS9 played two sets in 2013.
Damn, I really don't remember that at all. I don't remember being that fucked up. Disregard all previous posts, I apparently have no idea what I am talking about anymore.

Haha, they played two sets in one night (I believe it went STS9->Daedelus->STS9)

Where they in the float den? If so, that is why I don't remember that. I try to stay away from there.

Yes they were. Why do you avoid the Float Den?
1. I am not big into EDM and that is all they usually have in there. I am into Indie and Rap and they don't have that in the den. 2. Kids, boat-loads of them. 2013 was the worst when it came to the kids

Ok, agreed, as you know, I'm young, but I'm with you on the kids and the EDM. I am pretty picky on what electronic music I'll listen to and the crowds are usually the worst part about electronic shows. Well hopefully you'll be riding the rail next to me at RTJ and Die Antwoord!!! The only electronic act I really wanna be close for is Empire of the Sun

2013 was the worst for the kids at BUKU. Plus, throw in the fact that I am only 5'3". I guess they would see a "hole" in the crowd and then realize I was standing there. They would give me so much attitude and try to force me to move because I am short, I almost got into several fights that year. There was this one dude that was so drunk he kept falling on me, I would have to push him off me. After the third time he yelled at me about pushing him. I told him that if he would stop falling on me I wouldn't be pushing him off me. He tried to start a fight with me. I might be little, but play(ed) roller derby, work out on the daily and had brothers; I am very strong and would have whooped his 5'6" inches puny ass. Luckily, his girl got on him, because I was about to start swinging. It is the main reason that I got VIP last year. I am very worried about not having it, but they did raise the age last year to 18, so hopefully it will be ok.
I will definitely be vying for riding the rail for RTJ and Die Antwoord though!

Awesome, I'm only 5'6" so I feel your pain on the big people being dicks and people trying to push you around and I was top football player and wrestler in the state when I was in highschool so I don't play that shit either! And I went in 2013 and it was crazy with the kids. It's all good though, we will just ride rail together and I'll have your back and you'll have mine, which will probably be necessary considering it's RTJ and Die antwoord! But you gotta promise to help me make it on the stage so I can hook up with Yolande, deal?

Holy shit. Not getting to see their 3 (4) night run in Denver for New Years pays off on the back side. That's fn awesome though I will be missing whomever they are conflicted with. I'll see you there!!!!!!!
Edit - oh well. I was about it either way. That's the only set I will not leave for conflicts. Funny thing about EDM kids is that there are subsets. A lot of everyday kids who love EDM hate candy kids and bros. I guess that's kind of like all the subsets we had in the hardcore era with hawks, punks, drunk punks, skinhead (non nazi) or fascist.

I'm in Denver nowwwww and my cousin is trying to get me to stay for all the STS9 up here, I might have to do it. And yeah, there are many EDM fans that I like, but I'm not really even saying specifically the EDM kids are bad, I mean that most of the younger folks that attend shows/fests are the worst part of the crowd, sadly, those very kids tend to flood electronic events. and this coming from a 20 year old. I'd consider myself a fan of electronic music and I'm young but I'm not a contributing member of that terrible/accurate stereotype
I had an opportunity to go, but it was going to kick my ass with 5 wakarusa and 2 bonaroo VIP tickets to buy in January. It's eating at me even though I have been lucky enough to have seen them 3x this year and with Buku not that far away. My middle kid who is going said that he read somewhere that they are playing everything over the Denver shows. How badass is that? As an aside, I also got to see David Murphy play in an outrageous Superjam the last night of Jazzfest on a riverboat. Show was called Fiya wrappa(er) by Fiyawerx productions. That wasn't long after he left STS9. There is a little of that show up on YouTube.
I hear you on kids. I mean yeah, they can be a little wilder and more out of control, but as long as they aren't ODing or starting fights or bothering the artists, they usually don't bother me either.

. At Buku in 2013, we saw 3 kids OD on Friday and then the kid that tried to fight me then another tried to fight my ex. I've never had experiences like that before that BUKU. It was unusual and very annoying. I can't take that kind of crowd.
And those fucking punks that were talking shit on Primus during their show because they were camping out for Calvin Harris... Ugh the crowd at '13 was one of the worst I've experienced, but it is still one of my favorite fests.

I love buku but that year was the worst. And as you see I'm still going and buying tickets. It's uniqu here, and a true urban festival. It's a different experience than any other fest I've ever been to. Plus, you get the power plant in the background!
Yeah, the live band has announced two dates in 2015 and they are both fests (Arizona on March 27 and Atlanta in April) so the Arizona date shows that they are available for touring and willing to do it. I'd see their show if they were at Buku and there wasn't a terrible conflict. But I just saw Rob Garza (DJ set) AND Thievery Corp on Halloween, so I'd probably choose the other option in the event of conflict. I think they could get the spot that Primus got in 2013 , what do y'all think they would/could get.

I want to say that was Kid Cudi though right? We were middle front and fortunately didn't see or hear any of that shit I've read about. I think I left after Primus for Alt-j but I could be confusing the next set after the 3D show ended. I remembered seeing Calvin so I figured he had to either have been later or Saturday. I don't have that schedule at home to verify. -------- I hear you Vieux. I didn't encounter any issues that year other than seeing some puking and passed out people. Way I figure is we've all been there and hopefully any kid who fd up, learns their lesson, but that year minimum age was 16 which they raised for this years of course.

You could definitely be right In fact, I think Calvin Harris was saturday, cause that was the same night as STS9, right?
I'm pretty sure it was, but that's the one pamphlet we don't seem to have. I caught part of the first set and all the 2nd. That was the first time I think I saw them and have been a big fan ever since. I think Wakarusa 14 Set 1 (is on YouTube via pink elephant camera) is my favorite set so far. Edit probably part of Hangout 12 was the first time I saw them.
