I'm willing to cut them some slack on the web design with the amount of snow we got in the last few weeks. Obviously that stuff can be done from anywhere but maybe they can only log in from their offices. Plus the first couple announcements were earlier than last year and we know some people aren't even booked yet so that can slow it all down even more but i still check every 10 minutes
Also, great year to not land tickets. I like every band that has been announced so far... (and they would all have been on my wish list if I knew I was going).

Yea looks like both Happiness and Diamond Rugs are doing a string of shows coming up. Maybe they both end up on the NFF lineup and Deer Tick sticks around for the late nights again or something.
I think that Newport has been sloppy this year actually. They didn't update the website lineup for over a week and finally did it today.
Agreed. And they only announced one artist last week
Yea, I'm not a fan of this year's announcement process. Maybe that's the one benefit of not having a ticket or I'd be refreshing every second waiting for a band to get announced.
Last year was great. There were set days that artists were announced. And until they reached the last 10-13 names, they were making announcements between 9-11 every morning.

What an interesting lineup so far. I'm surprised they haven't announced any bigger acts or Newport regulars yet. I don't see any of the announcements so far being on the main stage
Yayaya! Woowoowoo!! Finally something I can get real excited about. I never really got into Dinosaur Jr., but his latest solo album was one of my favs from last year.
I think that this kind of makes it more possible that the basement tapes are going to be at Newport. Because you know that if they are going to have those artists to Newport for "the tapes" they will likely have their own set as well. So naturally they aren't gonna start mentioning those guys until they can announce the basement tapes.

So anyone have a guess about when we can expect a headliner? Probably going regardless of the lineup, but I'm curious.
It really depends on who the headliners are. Last year they started and ended the announcements with Mavis and Jack with Ryan Adams somewhere in the middle. Jack Was late because they had to wait until after Gov's Ball, the same could potentially happen if we get MMJ. If we're getting Decemberists I could see them being the first one announced because they've been sporadically announcing more and more tour dates and festivals the last couple months
I don't see the Decemberists as a headliner though. Pre-HL yes, HL no.
I agree. Newport has stepped up it's headliner game and Decemberists haven't grown bigger since the last time they were there. I only mentioned them because other people have mentioned them as a possible HL. I could see them co-headlining as well. Maybe them and someone like Alabama Shakes
