I didn't see his set. I remember leaving the harbor tent after black prairie to get some beers and ended up waiting for michael kiwanuka but i remember his set being talked about a lot so i'm sure a return would be welcomed

While seeing Brandi Carlile last evening in Philadelphia (Raise the Roof Benefit concert), a source close to her team hinted at a stop in Newport this summer!

She's already on my bingo squares! I thought she had a great chance of appearing

She said "I'm not at liberty to say, but you'll be quite pleased with her stops this summer" This source knows that I am going to Telluride Bluegrass/Newport Folk and Philly Folk.

That will make Fawnmart VERY happy if true. But we have Nelsonville as a backup if it's not.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I've been spinning the new Houndmouth album all morning. It's damn good. "Say It" may be my favorite song of 2015 so far. (Not sure if they'll be brought back for a third year in a row). You can also find the new Seth Avett & Jessica Lea Mayfield album on there.
Ok, I am sneaking an ear bud. Don't tell my boss. I need to listen.
EDIT: Wow. So different. Not sure how I feel. I will have to listen to the full album before giving it a real review, but I don't think I like it as much.

I don't think I like it as much either. They claim that they went for a sound that gives them more space... ala Zeppelin or Fleetwood Mac. But Fleetwood Mac was able to still sound folky and build space into their sound (I would say Of Monsters and Men does it fairly well too). Mumford just sounds derivative like a bad Coldplay, a worse Imagine Dragons, etc.
But I'll wait to hear the rest of their stuff before giving up on them. I do enjoy an Imagine Dragons or Bastille song every once in a while. So maybe I'll enjoy some of the new Mumford stuff.

Additionally, what happens to their old music? Will they be playing the old stuff in a electric version now?
I'm not a fan of the new Mumford, but I'm not a fan of the old Mumford, either. Anything is a welcome change from those damn banjo power chords at this point, even if it's Coldplay Lite.
And please let this be the last time anyone compares Mumf & Zep.
I don't like the production on the vocals here and that drum sound is pretty overdone at this point at this point in radio-rock. I don't mind it, but it's worse than most of Babel which was worse than all of Sigh No More
It was slow and repetative. I kept waiting for something big and it never happened. It seemed kind of lazy to be honest. I didn't hear the same passion that's on their previous albums. Hopefully the rest of the album is better.
PLease Brandi at the fort! And thank you all for the shout outs that way!
One trip out - friday? Heard George Ezra into Van Morrison and thought hmmmm... that would work.
k2b - Kaleo - Iceland band... like the music - catchy.. not crazy about all the false right from the top but when he drops into his natural voice at the end... well now. Game on. I've not heard but the one song.
There was mention to Fleetwood Mac above and it gave me a 14 hour day hankering and thought I might make ya'll laugh or learn you too... so one of my earliest albums was Rumors. Fast forward and i'm with the love of my life who is slightly .. more used aka of more years than I. So his catalogue goes farther back - in depth - than mine.
He plays this tune for me and i'm all Holy Shiiiiitt that song oh... just give me some whiskey and put me in a smokey blues bar 40 years ago. "Who is that?" Fleetwood Mac. "NO... I mean the one playing now!!" WHO IS THAT! ITS ..ITS and i'm speechless. Quacker says its Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. "Who the fuck is he??"
Still makes me laugh, and want that whiskey. Love this tune. And the man that turned me on to it.
fawnmart : So Kaleo came up on a random Spotify playlist a year or two back and I loved the song (but they/he only had an EP at that time). I think they have a new album, which might be what you've heard on the radio, so thanks for reminding me about him/them!! Also, if you have yet to listen to "All the Pretty Girls," tell me that does not sound like City & Colour? In fact, every time I hear it, I think that it has to be Dallas Green (City & Colour).

Ok---here's my wish list. Looked up tour dates and I think most of these would work. San Fermin, Lady Lamb the Beekeeper, Lucius, Father John Misty, My Morning Jacket, Tobias Jesso Jr.(may be too much like Leon Bridges?) also would love to see Andrew Bird again.
fawnmart : So I just noticed this on some Icelandic website with a bio for Kaleo:
"Firmly a phenomenon in their home country of Iceland, the four-piece band Kaleo is set to descend upon foreign shores in 2015, bringing their gorgeous blend of folk, blues, country, and rock to a wider mainstream audience in America. Their isolated heritage inspires a unique take on familiar sonic elements, resulting in diversity and freedom on each and every breathtaking track."
Looks like they very could well be at Newport. As far as I can tell, they don't have any US dates yet.
For anyone wondering about the song that I am in love with (and I assume this is the same song fawn is in love with), here's the beautiful video. (outside of this song, they have some tracks sung in Icelandic, as well as some rocking blues tracks)

I really like this. Add them to my list of hopefuls. Reminds me a lot of Bon Iver (especially "Skinny Love") or Ben Howard
EDIT: Vance Joy Now Has A Canadian Date On The Folk Sunday. The Only Day That I thought would be possible. Unless he comes down early before he opens for Taylor swift on Friday or Saturday....

New Joe Pug album out today (you can find it on Spotify). He was included in some of the aftershows last year, right? I'd pencil him into any unfinished bingo cards.
