New Milk Carton Kids tune released today. Too soon for them to be back?
Also, Iron & Wine with Ben Bridwell (of Band of Horses) are playing Osheaga in Montreal the weekend after Newport (along with First Aid Kit and Bahamas). Can we PLEASE get them! (Thanks for bringing this to my attention Strawman!)

I'd love to get them or even just Iron & Wine at the Fort.
Milk Carton Kids and Houndmouth should be just be at Newport every year

Houndmouth could play my basement every day and I'd be happy... and possibly considered a kidnapper (bandnapper?)
I was wondering what I&W w/ Ben would be like, but I guess they did an album of covers last year that I completely missed. WHY CAN'T I FIND THIS ALBUM?!
Did anyone see his set last year? I wasn't able to and it was one of the few I heard nothing about from other people, so I figured it wasn't anything special. Would love

I enjoyed it but it wasn't anything special, really. I liked a lot more other acts I saw that day more. He had great songs but it was a calm show. He focused on how "White" it was and everyone was. That was odd.
I'd be surprised if Sun Kill Moon was back this year. It was one of the duds from what I heard (full disclosure I did not see it but I know many who did)

His schedule doesn't even line up with the United States. He's not coming back

From everything I've seen it sounds like the guy hates festivals - constantly ranting about sound bleed, etc. I don't know why he keeps playing them, can't turn down the payday I guess.
THAT SAID...I think he's a brilliant (if cranky) songwriter and would love to see him at the Fort!
I think Lollapalooza adds to the possibility that Of Monsters and Men, Alabama Shakes, James Bay, George Ezra, Shakey Graves, Tallest Man on Earth, Gogol Bordello, Father John Misty, Lord Huron, St Paul and the Broken Bones, Delta Spirit, Bear's Den, Elle King, Black Pistol Fire, and Jamestown Revival will all be at the Fort.

Omam is playing Tokyo, and don't forget Florence and Julia and angus stone
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Bummed about OMAM but the other possibilities make up for it.
I don't think Florence really makes sense for Newport. She'd be a headliner and has very little folk influence in her music. At least the other artists that stray a bit from steretypical "folk" have something that ties them back. She doesn't really have that. I'm not saying it's not possible, and I'd love to see it happen, but I think it's very very unlikely.
Also she's playing Boston right before Bonnaroo, that probably lessens the chance a little bit
I would love to have some Tedeschi Trucks that Sunday. Saturday night they will be in NH but then they have 4 days off until a show in NY. So Sharon would be a possibility as well since they are touring together

While I'd love to see TTB and Sharon Jones again, it doesn't line up
Wednesday 22nd: Boston Friday 24th: Portland Saturday 25th: Lakes Region NH

I think Florence would be perfect for Newport if she/they did a stripped down set, similar to what Tegan & Sara did in 2011.

Yeah TTB & Sharon Jones are two of the headliners for XPN fest on Sunday
