Newport artists that I caught: Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn - Sounded pretty good, but it was way too hot at the time to truly enjoy them. Their cover of The Final Countdown was awesome though! Sturgill Simpson - Absolutely fantastic! I've disliked most country music for so long, but he's starting to bring me around. Strand of Oaks - Great set! Tim might be the most appreciative front man around. Bahamas - Only caught a bit of his set from behind a fence, but he sounded great as usual. Madisen Ward & The Mama Bear - I thought they were alright, but I was more into the shade I had found.
Super happy that Hozier got added! Made missing him at the farm for War On Drug much easier!
Now back to Newport. I was talking to someone at 'Roo who is in the know for Newport. *Apparently* they are still trying to book Dylan to be a part of the '65 Revisited set AND they're working on.....(drum roll).....Cat Stevens.

I'm sure they are still trying for Dylan, but still can't imagine him going for it. I guess this means he hasn't 100% said no yet. Cat on the other hand, who knows, would be cool.

The late night shows are where they can make a lot more money. They already sold the tickets for the festival before lineups came out. This lets them double dip. Great lineups all around. I'll be visiting all the late nights again in a future year

Fun Fact: The image they use on the Pledge Music site for Justin and the Cosmics was taken during the Diamond Rugs show I was at in Toronto in March! The guy taking this was probably right behind me! And really, the picture is just Diamond Rugs with Justin Collins on vocals. He did open the show though, fun set!
1st week of July last year I believe. But i was just looking and Jack White was announced 1 week earlier than today last year. So we ate definitely behind from last year
Writing this without scrolling, but I just read Neil Young's announcement of an Acoustic and Electric set tour through July. Last stop is Wayhome on the 24th. Sunday is wiiiide open for a '65 Revival.

I was just reading Jaw Sweet's last year aMa.. I know you all probably already know this but he said "it boggles my mind Neil Young has never played", I'm feeling like the Newport '65 set could have him!
