Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
That seems like a really fast sellout for the passes! Compiling my wishlist soon. The B&B we stay at said they had twenty-five requests for rooms on Friday. I think the word has spread about how fantastic NFF is!
Once the line up comes out there will be tickets available. No matter how good it is, some will say never mind i dont like that and start dumping them.
Oh to hear Basement tapes... I hope the conversation suggested above with Marcus comes true. : )
Look at how popular it's become among Inforoosters over the last few years. In 2011 there were what, 4 of us? Now we're at a couple dozen that do go, and another couple dozen that wanted to go but couldn't.
I got my ticket on Thursday (PHEW!!), but it has been too cray cray at work to log on to tell you folks. I can't believe only Friday and Sunday one-days are left! My parents were supposed to talk over the next few days and probably were going to buy tickets this week. Boo.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

YAY for you getting your ticket, booo to your parents not. I was looking forward to snack time again.

Looking through Metacritic's list of who's got albums coming out in the next few months, I could easily see Justin Townes Earle (or Steve), Punch Bros, Rhiannon Giddens, Lone Bellow, Father John Misty, JD McPhearson, Jose Gonzalez, Laura Marling.
Also maybe a little less likely but I wouldn't shocked: Bettye Lavette, Whitehorse, Belle & Sebastian, Natalie Prass, Matthew E. White, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Guster, the Dodos.
PS. Least likely: Sisqo (who knew he was still making albums??)

I'd add The Districts to the less likely category. They'd be one of the heavier acts for this year like Benjamin Booker and Reignwolf were last year

So i found cooper before the show on saturday but couldn't get to him to ask if dm3 would return. I think their popularity is also jumping they had close to 2000 people filling out the house of blues which i was surprised by when i walked in to see how many people were there.
The Decemberists have to be about as close to a lock to headline as you can get right?
MMJ also has a new album this year. Colin and Jim are on the board of advisors. That'd be a pretty big 1-2 punch for Newport. Throw in Sufjan and I'd go ape. Wish they could get Neutral Milk but they seem to be done after their next set of dates.
"You look like you're listening to every note." - Lady to me during LCD's "final" show 2023: Mar 29 - Guster Apr 6 - Postmodern Jukebox Apr 26 - Father John Misty May 14 - Taylor Swift (Philly) May 17 - Robert Plant and Alison Krauss July 12 - moe. July 16 - CAKE (Portland, ME) July 28-30 - Newport Folk (#12!) Dec 8-9 - Goosemas!
Diamond Rugs just announced their album and tour. I think it's a fairly safe bet we get them. Which is great because I can't make the NYC or Boston shows on the tour
MMJ will be there.. (just my opnion, but come on) speculation that a one-off New Basement Tapes performance will happen is also occurring over at the MMJ.com forums. Time will tell.
I met Tim from SoO a few months back after a show. I asked about Bonnaroo, which he confirmed, but I forgot to ask about Newport. He said they'd be hitting up "almost every festival" this year. He also mentioned they would be playing Osheaga in Montreal (the weekend after NFF).
Strand is playing. Asked him at a show and he confirmed.

Great! Is that the first artist we've confirmed for sure (or close enough)?

Good start. K2B - how did you find Shakey last year? Quacker googled a bunch of '[insert name here] Newport Folk' and found the Devil Makes Three quote fairly early last year..
Penquin - where in VT? Both of quackers quacklets went to UVM, the eldest stayed in Burlington.
I'm close with the people who run the fest. They keep it pretty tight. I have some guesses. I think MMJ/Jim James is pretty much a lock. Robert Plant is def a target. Cat Stevens is a good guess. The returning artists are the ones they really love. My guess would be Shakey, Hozier, J Roddy. I think Rayland Baxter, John Misty, Felice Brothers, Decembrists, David Wax and a few others who have been there before and they consider "family" will be back.

I would be stoked to have those three as headliners. And all of those returning acts. Just add in The Lone Bellow and some new acts and I'm set
