Saw Fatboy Slim at Voodoo a few years ago and he did not play the hits. Sounded like every other DJ out there.
I've heard that elsewhere too. That's disappointing.
This is in my old hometown where I still have friends and family, and I can go for free, so unless the lineup has nothing good I'll be there. But I have no idea who to hope for.

Me going to this festival again this year hinges entirely on if Flying Lotus will be there or not lol. Not stoked about no car camping. I did the regular camping last year and it was SUCH a hassle carrying everything to your camp spot.

I'm still mad at CP for taking so long on that terrible recap video. I only did Sunday last year and I'm going to be forced to do the same this year as a friend is getting married that Saturday. Unless the lineup is just total shit, I'll definitely be there.

They seem to be going along the lines of Roo in with group camping. Movement festival is this same weekend and so it's going to be hard for me to decide this year. I've been to the previous two Counterpoints and they were really fantastic, in that the people were amazing, similar to Bonnaroo. I'll be looking forward to their lineup Thursday.

I did a day pass for Outkast last year and actually had a pretty good time. I was hoping Counterpoint would pick up some of electronic stuff we're missing at Shaky Knees and then pick the best day to go to. That certainly isn't happening now.
You people are crazy! This lineup is amazing!! I always stayed away because it was a little too much EDM for my taste, but this has so much jam, funk, with electronic mixed in. Looks like I'll be going to Counterpoint for the 1st time this year!!
This might be the worst lineup for anything I've ever seen. There are two decent acts on here, and that's it. Otherwise it's shitty electronic acts or shitty holdovers from the moldering jamband scene. In a way it's actually sort of impressive, because I can't believe a festival would have the balls to put something this terrible out and affix it's name to it.

There's a lot of music that I've never heard of on this line up, as well.
Last year at Counterpoint I discovered Cashmere Cat, Polish Ambassador and Hucci and then got on a serious kick listening to them all summer. Counterpoint is good at booking EDM acts that are right on the cusp of hitting the scene in a big way. Every year they have done that. I'm excited about diving into this line up later.
Just at a passing glance Im looking forward to...
The Roots WSP Tipper Lettuce Ott Manic Focus Joe Russo Tauk Earphunk Emancipator Galactic Umphreys

Ditto. for me this just adds to the embarrassment of riches in the ATL festy scene this year 420>SK>CP. I know I'll like Waka's lineup better, but this is just so close and easy...and cheap.

I know, right? I was just talking to my friends about this very thing. There's almost no reason to travel out of state to see music this summer. I'll be at Bonnaroo because they booked my favorite rapper and favorite producer, as well as a few others because of an internship that I'm doing this year...but yeah, we're spoiled.
The Roots WSP Tipper Lettuce Ott Manic Focus Joe Russo Tauk Earphunk Emancipator Galactic Umphreys
I haven't seen Emancipator yet, and I'll get Joe Russo at Waka. I don't know Tipper. What I'd tell you was that I don't recall Counterpoint being this jam/funk heavy. I'd probably go since I love seeing Papadosio, but it's Memorial Day Weekend which means Austin, Texas. Saw The Roots at Bonnaroo 2012, they were pretty good. Panic is what they are as is Umphrey's. Lettuce is always fun and can get almost anyone's *** shaking. Ott is pretty freaky (saw at Waka). Manic Focus is a pretty typical DJ but you can get some rock and psycadelic out of him sometimes. We caught 2 Tauk sets at Bear Creek, and I loved them. But then again, I love jazz and the fusiony way they work it in. Earphunk is from Nola. Outside of "I don't work no 9 to 5", most of their songs are good. They can be surprising or generic, but they are best after dark. We saw them most recently on 12/27 at Tips, and it was a jamming ass show. As most people probably know, Galactic is parterning with Macy Gray for this tour (will see them at Waka and Hangout but probably miss them the day they play Jazzfest since I don't think I'm going that day).
Not as bad as some might say. And those are just a few acts you mentioned. I could have fun at this festival, but I'm not usually in hater mode.
