Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I've tried splitting headliner sets once, and I strongly recommend not doing it. Not only will you miss a couple songs from each artist as you traverse Grant Park, but you're also not going to see either show as the artist intends you to. If there's a tough decision, pick the artist who will be tougher to catch again in the future and watch the full set.
Speaking of food I suggest going off the beaten path a bit. Just past the north end of Chow Town in a grassy area not far from the Petrillo, there is a German food stand run by the Phil Stefani restaurant group. They serve schnitzel sandwiches there that have become a must have for me every Lolla. For any first timers or veterans who have yet to check these out I strongly recommend stopping by at some point during the weekend.

I'll try to remember that. I usually eat ... whatever.

Thanks everyone. Since I'm mainly going for Macca, is it fair to assume I need to camp at the main stage for at lease the set prior to get a descent view? And is it safe to assume that set will be Alabama Shakes or Alt-J?

The Weeknd is not Frank Ocean, or R. Kelly, or Chance. He wouldn't pull much from McCartney, but for EDM heads- Kaskade closing makes way more sense, but then again Lolla has done some weird shit.

Yeah, Weeknd is closing the main stage at Coachella. He's headlining. Come to terms with it.
It's just weird considering how many people, including myself thought his set in 2012 was a major disappointment. Ok so that alt-J vs Alabama Shakes is most likely happening, I don't expect either to do an aftershow. I saw alt-J at Lolla 2012 and they weren't anything special, I think on the main stage they would put on a better show. In regards to Alabama Shakes, I've never seen them live, and I love them. So if it comes down to one vs the other, I'm going for shakes.

I dont love the weeknd, but 2012 was his first tour. Lolla was like his 15th show ever, i would guess he's gotten better since then.
I wonder how many people would choose The Weeknd over Macca. If you're a fan of him I can't imagine it being too difficult to get close for his show since most people would never pass up the chance to see a Beatle

There's a significant portion of the Lolla demographic whose parents were in diapers when Let it Be came out. Some people just werent raised on the Beatles. Or you're like me and don't feel the need to see Paul put on essentially put on the exact same show again (not that I care much about the Weeknd either though).
I basically bought a day pass for Friday just to see both Sir Paul & The Weeknd. I've seen Paul now 3 times on this tour, Lolla would be #4. Would it be possible to see all of The Weeknd then head over and catch the end of Paul? Idk how set times work for this fest. I'm really bummed now that I realize they're going to conflict. I love both of them, Paul more, but I've never seen The Weeknd before.

I'd really prefer Alt-J over Alabama Shakes as far as who opens for Paul. I'll get to see Alabama Shakes at Roo, and I've been waiting to see Alt-J since they cancelld their show at House of Blues down here a couple years back.
Monie it might be possible to catch the first hour or so of Sir Paul and then head over to The Weeknd, but as I mentioned earlier, I strongly advise against trying to split headliner sets.
As far as subs, it's possible Alt-J opens for Macca, but I think Alabama Shakes makes more sense. Again, Lolla has done weird shit in the past (Passion Pit opened for Black Sabbath), so who knows.
As far as Friday, I'm guessing there's no chance of seeing FJM, The War on Drugs, Hot Chip, and Cold War Kids. Probably gonna need an aftershow or two to break up that clusterfuck.
Damn. Having to pick between them really, really stings. What time do HL sets usually start? BC Paul can easily play 2.5-3 hours, that's how long his set actually is. I'm not sure if The Weeknd could fill a 2.5 set. I mean, I guess we'll see how long his set is at Coach, but I just can't see him playing for that long. He has the material, but I think a 2.5 hour set from him just seems long. I'm going to have anxiety about this until the schedule comes out. Because I honestly don't know who I'm going to pick...
