Oh, and I'm surprised to see mention of food, when I didn't see a single food vendor. Not one. I was actually hungry and couldn't eat because I couldn't find food. And I spent all my time by the two sections of main stages. There should be food somewhere along that path considering it's the main 4 stages.... I was really disappointed and confused by that.
This one's on you. Between the south main stage and north main stage there's about 1/2 a mile of food vendors.
Where? Because I walked that path like 3 times at least. I always went around the fountain.

didn't you have a map?
Yes? I didn't use it ever though, didn't feel the need to.
Bur ok, good to know there was food I was just too unmotivated to actually go look for it. Which is fine, because Alyssa took us to Dino's pizza afterwards and it was sooooo worth the wait for.
Loved my first Lolla, but do not love the sprained foot I got as a result of 5 people falling onto me during the Travis Scott debacle. And I know I'm not the only one who sustained a noteworthy injury. Had to leave a few sets early due to foot pain.
Macca was better at Roo IMO, but the Lolla set was still amazing.
Metallica showed why they are the biggest metal band in the world. It was a great set and I think they still sounded great, hellofa performance.
Other highlights of the weekend so far have been FJM, Hot Chip, and Tame Impala. Oh, and as always the schnitzel sandwiches.
Metallica was my first real heavy metal concert. It has always been a dream of mine to go see them with my dad since they were a big part of my childhood (he used Metallica as a lullaby for me and my older sister and Death Magnetic was the first album I bought with my own money). To get rail was the icing on the cake.
I was unprepared for what I was facing. I'm 5'7", 150 lbs, disabled, and, like I said, first heavy metal concert. I was immediately crushed against the steel rail during "Fuel". It took both my dad and a minister who had seen Metallica 53 times (who was easily 6'6", 250 lbs) to form a wall to stop the mosh pit from doing it further. But after getting over the shock of that experience it was fantastic. '
I love that we got "Whiskey in the Jar", which is a song I'd put in my top five Metallica songs.
I also got rail for FJM. I hadn't given ILYH too many spins before seeing him but I love the songs I've heard live. He was also hilarious.
Hot Chip was fun; I didn't get to stay the whole set because I had to go get a good spot for the Shakes and Macca, but I'd go see them again for sure.
I was actually heavily disappointed in Tame Impala. Some songs seemed like they didn't translate well live.

Lol, dafuq? Lolla has more food vendors than any festival I've ever been to. Actually, I'd say the food at Lolla is its only redeeming quality. There's a mile long stretch of food vendors on both the South and North sides of the park.
Ah, see, never walked that way. I always went around the fountain, never any other path. I was also only there one day.
I almost walked down that path after MACCA, but we needed to go to the lockers and realized that there may not be any cut through to the fountain from that path. We were convinced they moved the fountain for a hot second, so I wasn't exactly in my right state of mind.
Had to have emergency gall bladder surgery on Tuesday night last week and had to miss everything. Alt-J Thursday, and then all of Lolla. I was crushed. Hope everyone here enjoyed themselves, I was at least able to get my money back on all the tickets. From what I watched on the stream, there were some real great performances- FJM, Metallica, Florence (before they cut her short), etc.

My thoughts:
-Awesome War on Drugs show on Thursday. It was pretty packed, but luckily I was still able to still hear and see everything from the back. I doubt I would've caught WoD on this tour if I had missed this show, so thank you based Metro for giving out last-minute tickets. -Lolla was fun, but definitely not in my top festivals. Mainly went for Paul McCartney, who was great as usual. The crowd for him (and the crowd in general) was pretty meh, but in this case I think everyone around us was stoned. Saw BADBADNOTGOOD (had some sound issues but one of my fav sets, would love them to play a Thursday set at Roo), Hot Chip (only caught a few songs, but really want to see their full show), and Alabama Shakes (good, can appreciate Brittany Howard). -Flying Lotus at Spybar was incredible. Met @jonesjupiter on complete accident (he sent me a message through Inforoo to meet up but I didn't check the site for days) and partied with him and his girlfriend. Haven't been to many clubs but Spybar is definitely my favorite club thus far. Fly Lo played an awesome set, and the DJ who played after him followed up with a deliciously deep/minimal set. Perfect night.
I had a blast fri and sat but Sunday night was not the greatest. They ran out of water in whole north side of the park. 2 camelback stations dried up and the bars were sold out of water. They eventually got bottles of carbonated water but that sold out in about 10 minutes. I was pretty bummed the headliner sets were all shut down early, I had a feeling that they never were actually going to let them play past 10pm because they didn't want to pay the fine for going past the city ordinance. The storm didn't even hit until close to 11:30pm, and they've also let the festival go on multiple times while it was storming in past years. Minus Sunday night this was probably one of the more enjoyable years, I'm sure I'll be back next year.

That sucks, sorry to hear man. Hope you are doing better.

Don't leave off the part where he's a terrible, negative person!!
Lolla had the worst crowd I've ever attended by far. But then I went to flylo and found all the cool people. Leaving Macca early was the best decision I made.
For the record and as you may recall, I'm a huge Beatles fan. But at the same time - as you have experienced yourself - I enjoy a good party. Therefore, "My Valentine", and similar tracks just weren't going to get me to the level I was hoping to reach.

I left a little early as well. I feel like nothing can live up to his Roo set. I saw the end of kaskade.

You really feel like the Roo set was that much different? I feel like his shows have been about the save every time I've seen him. I've heard that Clapton/Hendrix story so many times. And here people were bitching about Eminem's scripted set.

The little stories were all the same, but Roo was half an hour longer and a better setlist. There was also that dress rehearsal set he played Thursday night which was a nice bonus.
Maybe I'm just remembering the Bonnaroo set with rose tinted glasses since it was my first time seeing him.

Yeah the set list is what made me enjoy the roo show better.
Paul's set was so good I didn't even get that mad when a drunk teenage girl tried to open my backpack to puke in it.
Another example of why that crowd was awful.
I thought both setlists were good, Magical Mystery Tour was a better opener, but half way through the setlist was exactly the same. Granted, Roo was like 30ish mins longer, but I thoroughly enjoyed both shows. (Though, Roo was also my first, so it will always be ranked the best.) If anything, I think he may have sounded slightly better this time. I remember Maybe I'm Amazed at Roo sounding pretty strained. He changed it this time around so as not to do that. So little things like that I thought were nice.
And although the Hendrix story and the George story and the John story are all the same, it should he expected at this point. Just remember how awesome it was to hear those stories for the first time from the mouth of a Beatle, that's why they're still in the set. It wasn't my first time seeing him, but it was for a large majority of those around me, and seeing their faces light up though out the set was awesome.

I absolutely loved his set. It was my first time seeing him. I also brought my 3 year old son along for the sole purpose of seeing McCartney, and he loved it. He sang along to "Hey Jude" with me, and it will forever be one of the most memorable moments of my life. With all that said, If I had to choose between McCartney or Fly Lo (Or someone similarly awesome) a second time, I would skip the Paul set.

Who are you people? I can't imagine ever missing McCartney for anything. I even left Wu-Tang early to get over there (and we had already seen him before).
