Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Examples of what you considered "up beat tempo EDM"? Just for my own curiosity - Not really something Roo has ever done so Im not sure why that would be in people expectations
Wolfgang Gartner, Zedd, A Trak, Clockwork, Kaskade, Major Lazer, Big G, and Porter Robinson are all sets I enjoyed that Roo has booked the past couple years.
Outside of Bassnectar and Deadmau5 I don't really see anything like that on the lineup. If I'm missing something please point it out to me. I'm excited for ODESZA but its not really rage out music. Same thing with FlyLo, Tycho, and Caribou. Sorry, guess I like just a little cheese in my EDM.
If you don't think Flying Lotus fits the definition of a "rage" set then you have a strange definition of rage sets.
Also, not trying to be a jerk here, but if you really are as bummed about the lineup as you say you are then you should sell your tickets and go to a different festival. Or just save your money. But don't spend money on a super expensive vacation if you aren't excited about it.
maybe bonnaroo is going to try and do something different and maybe announce bigger lineup additions. Maybe they consistently saw people let down by additions in the past (i know i wasn't let down, but constantly here people complain about additions not being what THEY want), and want to save bigger names or those.
Holding out hope for St. Vincent and/or TV on the Radio. The fact that TVotR are playing Hangout, Shaky Knees and Boston Calling but not Bonnaroo is mind-boggling to me.

flying lotus will be a r"rage" set, but he's so so so different from everybody on that list man. doesn't seem like a fitting comparison
i can't wait for that screen. i missed him in mpls due to going up to the cabin with buddies drinking all weekend and now the trade off seems well worth it

Are FlyLo live sets different from his most recent album? Good album, but not something that is terrible easy to dance to.
Flying Lotus....is not even close to a rage set. I would not go into his performance this year expecting anything close to 2012. He kills it, but it's not very easy to even dance to, more of a show you watch and appreciate. A ton of people around me at Fun Fun Fun were disappointed, but I loved it.
i feel like something has to be added over flume. how is he 11th on the lineup? don't get me wrong, flume is gonna be awesome, just seems weird that he's so high up there.

Extremely. See the video that Billy Baroo posted or any of the millions of videos of his live shows on YouTube.
And I know it's not cheese but if y'all can't dance to Flying Lotus live shows then you should buy new dancing shoes. His sets are awesome.

Something's not adding up. If you have 10 comedians and 30 cafe bands (am I over- or under-shooting those numbers?) then there's room for like 30 more additions, right? They've added bands in the 11-20 range before so I'm hoping there's a big second wave coming.
agreed about flume. not even a year ago they were practically giving away tickets to his show at first ave. and by practically, I mean literally. I got free tickets & so did a friend of mine. and he was playing a tiny tent at coachella last year.
that being said, I love him and am happy I get to see him again. can't wait for some new material.

thats the way i added it up too. I'm just gonna keep my expectations wayyyyyy down. and get fix to gov ball to knock out some of the bands i was hoping would end up on both lineups.

Bonnaroo has a great metric even determining how much people like the lineup: ticket sales. I'm sure they'll factor the initial wave of tickets sold into how much effort/money they put into adds. If tickets undersell - which, especially given the price, they might book a few extra acts and maybe one or two more 'big-ish' names like Modest Mouse or StV or D'Angelo. If sales go well, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a typical set of adds. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if that's what we get even if sales are in line with previous years.
And uh FlyLo will kill it but it's a totally different kind of music from deadmau5/bassnectar/skrillex/Harris etc. Let's put the apples and oranges back in their bags, kids.
On that subject expect a decent chunk of the adds to be edm acts & DJs

I agree with that. Most people who went to Darkside last year felt like they raged and the set was nuts but for people walking around Centeroo, there was no lights and it didn't really look like people were going nuts but it ended up very high on a lot of best concerts in 2014 on here. FlyLo isn't a wear your kandy bracelet and throw glow sticks show.
could be a bring your shiney hula hoop and let people sit in a circle and watch you sort of show though
agreed though that these are apples and oranges for style
To me he screams Lumineers in 2013. Billed insanely high on the strength of a single hit. I think you're onto something with that theory haha
Yeah, except the Lumineers' album was pretty good, and was certainly the cream of the crop of the recent "radio banjo" explosion.
To be fair, the other songs I've heard from Hozier's album aren't that bad. Not saying he isn't a mainstream pop booking, but I don't consider him to be a talentless hack with 1 hit either.
Last year during BLAM they announced 110 Bands and this year 97 bands were announced. I don't think it is fair to compare 97 to 110. I am going to wait and see what the approximately 13 additions are before I make a final judgment.
9-4 to 9-6 SummerDance Festival 9-20- St Paul and the Broken Bones 9-30 Ott 10-21 Emancipator Ensemble 10-22 ATB 10-23 W&W 10-28 STS9 11-18 Dan Deacon 11-21 The Werks/ Twiddle 12-4 Darude 12-8 The Revivalist 12-30 & 12-31 Decadence NYE (Denver) 1-17 Mr. Carmack 1-28 Yo La Tengo 2-9 TAUK 2-27 Lotus and Michal Menert 2-29 Beach House 3-3 to 3-6 Okeechobee Festival 5-9 King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard 5-23 DIIV

Saw FlyLo at FFF, ubelievabke show and energy, crowd was entranced the whole time then he bust out never catch me and it was just a huge dance party. This is gonna be a can't miss pending schedule
soo is ed helms just going to play every year from now on? if so, thats completely fine with me.
I could see it continuing until he doesn't want to do it anymore. He's a pretty reliable host and the way that superjam goes he's less of a musical leader and more of a master of ceremonies so as long as the musicians are varied every year there's no reason to switch him out. I love him there

I keep going back and forth with whether I'm excited or disappointed with this lineup. I like Billy Joel, and Mumford is a good show, but I'm not going to see anything different than I did in 2011. Not interested in Deadmau5 or Kendrick and don't think that they are Bonnaroo level headliners. I mean I can accept one headliner that I question whether they have the merit to be on that top line or not, but 3 is really pushing it. The undercard impresses me, but mainly I'm excited for My Morning Jacket, Robert Plant, Florence + the Machine, and quite a few more, but I've already seen most of them at Bonnaroo before. I love the bands on the lineup, but it's a been there done that type thing. I really think that the schedule will have to suit me extremely well before I drop the money on this. I just feel like I've gotten all these pretty neat gifts for Christmas, but I already had most of them.
I'm baffled as to why they decided to raise ticket prices with a lineup like this. The average festival goer is not gonna shell out $400 for this when there's probably a closer festival that's decent enough for $150.
that's exactly what anyone not satisfied should be hoping for. because money talks (or the lack thereof), and if not many pay the money something may change. it's certainly doubtful, but i sure do want the organizers to know how shitty this lineup is for $400. so i hope others who aren't satisfied speak with their wallet.
this would be my 11th bonnaroo. i cannot think of a worse group of headliners in those 11 years. i am not that hard to please i don't think (i like to think, anyway). i don't need a paul mccartney every year. i just need something to make me say wow, that sounds like a really fun set. there is 0 here that looks like any thought or consideration went into it in my opinion. the more i look at it the more angry i get at the idea ticket prices were raised this year. i am glad i have somewhere like this to come and vent. it's weird because i feel like bonnaroo is an old friend and it makes me mad because i have come to expect more, and better from this festival. just my two cents.
right there with you. have attended every year since 2008. I'm going with work this year and won't really get to see many sets, but if I were buying a GA ticket I'd really be questioning that price. were people this upset in 2010 with the stevie - dave matthews - kings of leon - jay-z top line? that looks so, so good in comparison

Just going back and forth from the lineup pages of 2014 and 2015 is crazy. The 2014 lineup has all of the superjam particulars and cafe acts but the size disparity still seems great even talking these into consideration. I'm half resigned to no major additions, because it doesn't make a lot of sense to withhold these when people are deciding what fest to attend and half blindly believing that 10 more non-cafe acts have to be added.
Also, from the experiences listing at the bottom, doesn't look like Kalliope will be back.

Kalliope said they weren't sure if they'd be back, they hadn't been asked by Bonnaroo yet.
