Haha. You know, I don't have much to do at work today, so coming up with a list of songs more depressing to end a party with sounds like a lot of fun.
Nothing wraps up a joyous drunken night like standing around with your bros at 4am singing along to "Bell Bottom Blues". Really ends the night on the best note.
Would anybody object if I created a separate thread to get everyone's "Saddest Songs to End a Party With?" I am bored at work and was really hoping that would take off. I am still chuckling to myself thinking of drunken frat bros enthusiastically singing "Brick" at a Football Tailgate.
Who makes guacamole happen!?!? Does a tabloid like the University of Oklahoma student paper make guacamole happen or do ME AND YOU make it exist? Just cause they write about it doesn't make guacamole exist - ME AND YOU MAKE IT EXIST!
since this is the new dumpster fire and I don't like staying on topic. this should give some of you a chuckle.
apparently some of you still plan on watching the dexter finale - I wouldn't recommend it. but if you have seen it, please read this snippet of a funny article about a spinoff series and how terrible it would be.
"Of course, given the way things ended up, it’s possible the Dexter spinoff could be about Dexter’s new life as a lumberjack in Alaska—his nights spent stealthily murdering the trees that deserve it, placing shavings of their bark into his special box, and his fellow lumberjacks never suspecting that this morose, bearded sociopath who never says anything might be deeply troubled. And the spinoff would never give any thought to Dexter’s old supporting characters, just like the original Dexter. But in no way would this just be another season of Dexter."

But a spoiler tag on it! Some people still haven't seen it yet (and they never will, if they know what's good for 'em, but still).

I just assumed people had already heard how laughable it was!! I put a spoiler on though just in case. you never know if someone will get caught in a blizzard for weeks and will have have watched literally all other shows and are forced to decide to watch the final dexter season.
now, if I gave away the season 4 finale, that would be a true crime!

I was behind on Dexter and finished season 7 right when season 8 ended. I've considered starting season 8 multiple times, but people usually tell me they're envious of my ignorance. I'll watch it someday, but I'm in no rush.
I'm wary about declaring my "Can't Miss" acts when I haven't seen the schedule, but hopefully hopefully I wont be missing: 1. Florence - have wanted to see her live since Dog Days Are Over first came out; I've heard great things about her performances. 2. Kendrick/Childish (not saying they're super similar or interchangeable, but I just know I won't let myself miss both - and hope to not miss either) 3. Ben Folds - nostalgic act FTW. Honorable Mention: MMJ - I need to see what all the fuss is about. It is a must. But I can't promise I'll be there start to finish, especially if they play for hours on end.
Plan to avoid: 1. Slayer - I respect that they're very good at what they do, but man, heavy metal really hurts my head/entire body. 2. Alabama Shakes - another group that is talented, but I expect the crowd will be pretty big, and since I'm not very enthused for their music, I'd rather get a good Tent spot for a band I like more. 3. Against Me! - don't enjoy their music at all. Honorable mention: AWOLNATION - they're like the Grouplove type act for me this year; if I happen to walk by as they're playing their one hit that is an OK song, I might pause and listen for ~3 minutes. Doubt I'd stay any longer than that.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

I think Friday night is gonna be Kendrick on What > MMJ on Which > Deadmau5 on What similar to Black Keys/Buffalo Springfield/Eminem circa 2011. MMJ will probably play well past their set time and the conflict between MMJ and Deadmau5 will likely help the crowding situation at Which

That's what happened to me; someone posted it on Facebook the same day it aired. I was furious. I'm still not quite over it. I have a real sore spot for spoilers, and that was probably the biggest one. Second would be when someone told me what happens at the end of the first GoT book. Goddamn heathens in my life, I'll tell ya.
Although I probably should note the one show that I'm guaranteed to see is Mumford, because my fiancé is most excited for them. I like them too, but if she weren't going, they wouldn't be in my top 5.

Season 4 was my jam though...
I mean, if you go into it thinking of it as a comedy, then I think it could be enjoyable. I was laughing during about 80% of the finale episode.

There's really only 1 way this show should have ended. Comments like this lower my expectations, but certainly peak my curiosity. I'll give it a go one day.
Dexter is to TV what the Black Keys are to music. Started off ok, later stuff is garbage. People who like it think they have good taste but they don't.
I'm confused, so was the beginning good, or wasn't it?

The Black Keys are better as an arena rock band than they ever were with their "just a couple guys playin' the authentic blues" schtick.
I had never listened to 21 Pilots until a few minutes ago.
Add them to my "avoid like the plague" list.
Not the best music but I will tell you that their show will be one of the most energetic shows at roo all weekend. I won't be there, I am just saying that show will be pretty wild, their shows always are. The best thing they do is a cover of Gary Jules cover of Mad World
