Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I didnt realize inforoo needed time to generate the madness, basically just got blue ballsed so I see how things went awry.
It's pretty much how you would think. It usually fairly quite in the off season. Nov-Dec is the buildup. Then Jan. and Feb. are typically the insanity months. March until Roo is planing, helping newbs and setting up meetups, etc.
Ive heard similar sentiment before, after roo I dropped off until novemberish? Im mainly a lurker/liker though because im on mobile most of the time but im trying to talk to you people cause I enjoy what inforoo brings.
Thinking of last year there was certainly more talk with the bigger build up and the love/hate for kanye going around looking back. But Roo isnt going to be bad this year, I know I will still be having a blast even with a lesser line up. I got over 40 bands im wanting to at least check out, plus everything roo gives yah, like you goofs = nothing id rather do june 11th-14th
...just realized i went on a I love roo tangent, oh well fuck it.

And then May... you eagerly sit around, staring at the clock on your computer screen, counting down each minute closer to roo
Don't forget the schedule release, which inevitably sets off another spike in activity as people repeatedly curse Bonnaroo for scheduling 4 of their top 10 most anticipated acts at the same time.

Yeah, stick around some in the off season. There is a lot of good discussion on new albums and goofy off topic stuff always going on. We have some really good arts and entertainment threads. Lots of stuff spread about. Plus, a lot of us know each other in real life and meet up for other fests and concerts. It's a great community. Some of us can get bratty this time of year but it's usually meant in good fun. Usually.
Yeah, I'm fine with the lineup. I wasn't over the top about it at first but I've already put a ton of work into discovering new artists.
To be honest, yes, lineup was overall better last year, but I also felt like I was running around at some points throughout Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday of Roo - and I missed a lot of shit I really wanted to see. I'm hoping for less of that this year, and to be able to actually see most of the acts I'm excited about (of which there are plenty!).
I realized as soon as I typed that, that I probably just jinxed myself. Watch the conflicts somehow end up even worse for me this year.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

My bad, I legitimately woke up from a nightmare last night because I was really stressed in my dream because... Roo had somehow made all of my top ten acts conflict with each other. I was so happy when I realized it was a dream

Roo was great for me to start branching out to new artists, I would never update my iPod with music and it sucked. I'm using Google's unlimited streaming app and listening to much more than I ever did in years past. Yea I will definitely stick around some in the off season this time when things die down relatively. Oh I've seen plenty of shenanigans from you guys over the past year of being on here and I have a decent feel for how things operate.
There will always be those people in a message board and even at roo, someone after break science last year on Thursday said something snarky after I yelled out BONNAROOOO and I just ignored his ignorant ass, cant let the h8ters get you down as they say. This is a great place and I look forward to more music and nonsensical discussions with you and everyone else in the future.

I hate people typing "h8ers" instead of the real word but I'm just gonna inform you though that the "t" that you placed in "h8ters" is redundant and unnecessary because the "8" already contains that "t". I'm not trying to be a dick, just saying if you're going to do something that I find unnerving, at least do it right But, you're right, there are always people who will try to rain on your parade, you just gotta keep on keepin' on!!

I never type that word on normal occasions so it doesn't surprise me I typed it incorrectly. Duly noted of your dislike of of the word h8ers and the correct spelling. For some reason its a natural thing my brain does and goes right for the "t" after the 8 haha. No bad will taken good sir

I admittedly sometimes say "h8rs" but when contained within an ironic sentence/statement. Permissible then?

Whether you choose pancakes or waffles is inconsequential, but you have to eat them first when they come out, I've made the mistake of saving them for "dessert" after the rest of my meal, and cold is not the right way.

I also noticed a pretty substantial drop off in board-wide activity about a week after the lineup was released.
We've pretty much known the headliners for a while before the lineup drop, and thoroughly exhausted most discussion. Having said that, a brief breakdown of the potential for discussion on each headliner:
a. Billy Joel - I know some are excited for Billy Joel but he's about as uninteresting a headliner as you can have. You can only debate the appropriateness of Piano Man as a party song so many times.
b. Mumford - We've talked about them coming back ever since they cancelled, and even when they were booked last time we discussed whether they were headliner worthy ad nauseum.
c. deadmau5 - Pretty much the only thing to talk about is what his stage setup will be like. We pretty much all know deadmau5, most have seen him live.
d. Kendrick - Beyond hoping he steps up his game in terms of his live show, there is not much to do but wait and hope its a good show.
Contrast this batch with just Kanye/Jack White last year, who provide a treasure trove of controversy which leads to tons of angry internet discussion. Or Paul McCartney or Radiohead, the announcements of which left inforoo rioting with anticipation for the months leading up to Roo.
As much as some say we go to Bonnaroo for the undercard, in terms of discussion its the headliners that get the most volume. I do interpret the drop off in inforoo activity to the general disappointment in the headliners. Its just lack of excitement.
Not saying EVERYONE isn't excited, headliner wise I'm certainly very excited for the Kendrick/deadmau5 combo. I think it will be an interesting and fun evening.
Of course you can't attribute all the lack of discussion to disappointment in the headliners, many expressed disappointment in the undercard as well. Personally I'm pleased with the undercard, but judging from reactions after the lineup drop I think around here it was more negatively received than usual (there's always a certain measure of negativity after the lineup drop, this year it just seemed louder).
I'm starting the movement: TEAM FRENCH TOAST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of my greatest inforoo regrets is adding the Crepe option to that poll. French toast, crepes or any other breakfast food has nothing to do with the discussion at hand in that thread.

crepes are stupid. who actually eats crepes for breakfast regularly?

Part of the reason people aren't talking about the lineup, apart from the fact it sucks, is that most of the bands have been under the radar lately. There are like 3-4 bands in the top 5 lines (just eyeballing) that have put out albums in the last 6 months. Deadmau5 is the only one in the top 4 to have put out an album in the past 2 years, and none of them have done a headlining tour lately.
If there were a bunch of acts releasing albums or doing headlining tours, there'd be more buzz and more shit to talk about. Jack White and Kanye were both putting out albums almost annually, which is why people had them on their minds and had shit to say about them.

Crepes are not stupid. A strawberry crepe followed by a ham and swiss crepe at a little stand in Paris in October at 3 in the morning was probably the best fucking meal I've ever had.

I think that's actually part of the reason why there's still a good possibility for an exciting bonnaroo (despite the initial disappointment) There are a bunch of artists on the lineup who have yet to put out their new albums - for all we know kendricks new album will be as good as the hype and Mumford / Florence / mmj might put out albums we will all generally be excited to hear live come June.
