What do you guys think of the first single off their new album.
I love it! I love that they've branched out, but the style is still unmistakeable. I can't believe we have to wait until May for the full album. Hopefully we'll hear more before then.
This is a question for those who've been to a GOTR stop previously. Did Mumford play an extended set, a bonus set, or anything above & beyond? Or do you think it will be comparable to what they play at Roo? I'm still on the fence on which to choose. Thanks!!
The only thing they did that was notably special when I went was bring all of the bands out on stage for the last song ("The Weight") which I think they'll definitely do at Roo. Other than that it seemed like a pretty standard set. Still great though and I think Roo or the Stopovers are better places to see them than their own shows
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

If i had to choose based on only the Mumford show I'd definitely pick GOTR. It's much more intimate and everybody there are fans/like minded people. What makes it so special for me is the setting. Some small town is going to come to life for one weekend. It's a really awesome experience. you get to check out the local establishments and meet/hang out with the local folks.
Mumford will play a normal set and sit in with a few bands and as stated previously they'll get together with all the bands for a farewell song. Last year in Troy OH after their set was a DJ set where Marcus came out and played drums while these guys DJ'd, that was pretty cool.

I actually dig the new single..but I also admit that I'm a huge fan, and as such am a bit of a "homer". However, the haters that are calling them a "Coldplay cover band" now...I just don't see it, just because they dropped the bluegrass instrumentation (which I absolutely love).
I am at my breaking point. I bought two tickets to the Waverly, IA stopover not thinking there was going to be a Chicago show added (probably stupid on my part). I contacted front gate about canceling my order, that got me nowhere. Since then, I've spent the last 45 minutes trying to figure out how to log in to the mumford and sons forum so i can post the tickets for sale on there. It tells me I have to log in to the mumford and sons homepage, but there is nowhere to log in as far as i can tell. I have cookies enabled, and I am still not seeing anything. I registered for their merchandise page, but that seems to have done nothing for me. I am coming here as a last resort.
If anyone here is part of the forum there and could help me figure out how to log in, I'd be very appreciative. Knowing me, there is probably some link staring me in the face that I'm not noticing, but it's driving me mad.
Also, if anyone is interested in 2 waverly tickets at a discounted price. those are up for grabs. Thanks for any help.
As always, just repeating what I heard. In this case got it from a buddy I ran into at the Asbury Park Pixies show this past weekend; he is a Seaside Firefighter and is working both the stop over and was told he has to be on standby at the bar where Springsteen is supposedly doing the after performance as well. Either way I will be at Gov Ball getting my Bjork on. We'll see.

I know you've been spot on with everything else and being a massive Bruce fan I hope this is true...but that story is how 99% of all Jersey Shore "Bruce is going to be there..." rumors go. I've been to the Stone Pony and other places enough times based on things like that. The only time it was true (for me) was a Gaslight Anthem show back in 2012 at Asbury Convention Hall.
Is the rumor that he's going to just pop-in and play with Mumford or actually take the stage for a while as a special guest?

It actually happens more often than you think. He has popped up at Social Distortion and Southside Johnny shows at the Pony in the not too distant past. I wouldn't buy a ticket based on this info/rumor. But I don't think the guy I was speaking to was making it up. He even told me which bar the aftershow is going to be at. We'll see.

Yeah I don't think you're making it up and I would never question your validity. I'm really hoping it happens because I'm going no matter what and Bruce is by far my favorite artist - but I've been let down enough in the past where I don't want to get my hopes up for it. (You can only see Joe Grushecky so many times after someone's cousin's uncle's friend said Bruce's guitar guy was there for soundcheck)
Either way, I'm hoping it doesn't get out in the next week - otherwise you'll have tons of Bruce fans overrunning every bar in Seaside next Saturday - like posting up a spot all day style.

Why are the tickets for the Seaside Heights show so cheap on StubHub? I mean they are $179 normally right? You can pick them up for $40 on Stubhub and there are tons below $100. Am I missing something?
Anyone going to the NJ stopover? I'll be there with some friends, camping on the beach.
@launchpadmcquack - you still confident in that Springsteen rumor?
I was debating this. I live about seven hours away and have to work until 10pm Friday night but I have a buddy who is a huge Bruce fan and we're debating picking up some tickets and heading out at like 4am Saturday morning, getting there around 11am, hitting the fest and camping Saturday night.

Might not be a bad idea at all.
My home is an hour and fifteen minutes from Seaside, and on the weekends I live in a house in LBI, which is only another 45 minutes south. Kind of a no brainer for me.

radio 104.5 is having a contest for this, and on their site it lists:
Every winner gets: • A pair of two day passes to the festival • A camping pass • A pair of bus passes on The Mumford Express to and from the show • A pair of passes to a BBQ with Mumford And Sons on Thursday, June 4th • A pair of passes to a "secret show"
