I saw Alt-J last Monday and it was incredible. I don't know if the show just doesn't translate well through the stream, they were off, or if it was a combination of both. But that show last night did not come off well. I don't think it is a strong representation of what seeing them live these days is like though.
It was a good show. It had a bigger crowd than Jack. I think, as you said, it does not translate that well streaming. Some shows just don't.
As for Jack's show, custeph and I were discussing it. It's like when you are making a copy, but you want to save ink, so you put it on that grey scale shitty setting. That was his show, in a nutshell.
This is what's wrong with the world. More people at Alt J than Jack?
Being better that 90% of current hip hop doesn't make you good.
But props for not causing the second hand embarrassment that usually happens when witnessing live hip hop.
You clearly don't like hip hop, and that's ok. But to say they aren't any good is pretty ignorant. I'm not the biggest hip hop fan either, but that doesn't mean I can't respect what they do.

Wtf is with these crowds at the shows?! On the Duke Dumont stream it looks like everyone in the front is asleep, I've never seen so many people on their phones at a show
Not sure what set you guys were watching but I can assure you that his crowd was fine.
I love that ratatat is getting the production value of being in the sahahra but i feel like theres gonna be a lot of dummies filling it up that have no idea how to react to them since they are nothing else like the garbage that regularly fill that stage
