Say what you want about RTJ but everyone knows music is personal, and everyone has an opinion. The performance itself was amazing and even my 5 friends who teased me all night for making them watch coachella stream got into the set and turned their heads a few times like holy fuck this is awesome. I have since taken down my snaps of me drunk rapping from lie cheat steal bc I didn't realize how fucked up I was when that was taken but this morning I was so embarrassed. Sorry to everyone who witnessed it. After seeing the coachella set, I just know it's going to be unbelievable at Bonnaroo and the next 60ish days are gonna be hard for me. I hope the coachella gets put up on youtube so I can rewatch it.
While watching Hozier, however, someone made the comment "don't take me to church! don't take me to hozier!! This is making me fall asleep" -- he in particular wanted to see hozier at beale street but has since changed his mind. And now he has been watching coachella live stream all weekend even though everyone made fun of it. It's still nice to watch live artists especially when you don't have to stand in the hot sun all day.
So far, that's all I've managed to catch all weekend. I wanted to see more but it just didn't happen. Maybe tonight I'll catch some more sets.
Also... it's just fun watching the crowds. You see chicks on the front row who aren't singing or dancing but the moment the cameras go to them, they get all into it. That's just comical to me. I love spotting the random guy on someone's shoulders, too.
My friends refuse to get into them, I'm thinking i need new friends.
You absolutely need new friends. I told my friend who I was with last night that we had to watch the first bit of Jungle before he switched it over to Jack...but then luckily he got entranced by Jungle and let me keep it on till the end of their set. I've loved them for months, but that live stream just made my excitement for seeing them in June skyrocket.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Did Bonnaroo do as much with live webcast last year as Coachella is?
I can't even remember.
Bonnaroo airs the shows?
Yet another reason to stay away from the rail.
I wonder how many people lose their jobs for calling in sick to work only to have their boss see them sweating on the rail with glassy eyes and a camalbak full of whiskey. Hilarious.
They had something last year I believe. Not to the extent Coachella is doing right now.
I doubt a lot of "bosses" watch streams of music festivals.
RTJ was the best set I saw last night. I totally forgot Barker was playing with them, so that was a nice little pretend surprise.
Is it me, or have the surprise guests this year been slacking? Last year Pharrell had person after person coming out and this year I think I've seen 3 between all sets, including Travis which was already announced.
St Paul killed it just like I knew they would Hozier was good but not fantastic. His back up singer was bad. He seems like a good late afternoon set like right as the sun is going down. Andrew McMahon was fun to watch. He reminds me of a upbeat younger Dashboard Confessional RTJ, wasnt a huge fan of them till last night. I'm not gonna run out and buy their albulms but I will attend their show. They were awesome. Alt-J was a major letdown for me last night. Jungle I sadly missed out on them but they come highly recommended so I will check them out. Jack White= Guitar Playing Rock God. It was a great performance but not as electric as his Roo set

A lot more than you would think. Mine definitely does.
And when the travel channel aired....she saw me funneling beer.
The bigger music festivals get way too much media exposure. I wish they would knock it off.
Finally caught up on some of these streams. Royal Blood makes a shit ton of noise for just two guys, they remind me a lot of DFA 1979, I'm really liking them. Ratatat just made me sob since they're not playing any festivals I'll be at this year. Benjamin Booker would be a fun show to see to kick off Thursday. Watching RTJ right now and if I wasn't already convinced to see them at Big Guava/Roo then this would do it. So far I still think Tyler has been my favorite. About to watch Father John Misty, and Jungle is next in my queue, and I've got high hopes for that one.

What was everyone's worst set? Mine was Eagulls. Those guys sure know how to suck and pick a stupid name that sucks.
If your answer to this question isn't DJ Snake then you are wrong.
I actually really enjoyed DJ Snake... It was the perfect party set with just enough cheese but not too much and it made me super excited to party at Roo.

I'm sure being there would've been pretty fun. The crowd was pretty into it. I love EDM, but his set just wasn't my cup of tea.

I'm really interested in what the big art surprise is going to be this weekend. It seemed like they were hyping something up with that art video they put out saying this is largest art budget so far and they said it was going to be more of an experience than one display. I saw they did something with the helicopter building where they had people dressed up as animals inside and they also had the caterpillar turn into a butterfly, but I feel like there should be more.

Pretty sure no one's worked up. It's more just amazement at how ridiculous/clueless these comments have been.
I said I don't get the hype. And instead of explanation of said hype....I just got more.
So....I remain unconvinced.
If you arent already convinced that both Coachella and RTJ are amazing, an explanation probably wouldn't change things for you. The proof is in the pudding and shit.
I also don't get the hype. I'm not the biggest hip hop fan by any stretch, but I couldn't really get into their set. Action Bronson, on the other hand, killed it on friday.
