yea, about 7-8am for me. i think it's like 30-45 mins to roo from murfreesboro. but then add the wait in line and probably wont get in till 9 or ten. oh well, as long as i get in, thats all that matters!
doesn't seem like anyone is staying at the knights inn! i guess i can hotel hop to find all you cool peeps to party with!
man, is it june yet???
last year it took us about 4 hours to get into the roo, and we were vip .. take that into consideration .. cr****
what? really? what time did you get there? i've always been under the impression (from these boards) that VIP is a breeze to get into... ???
I drive an RV every year so we always crash at a Wal-Mart. The Manchester Wal-Mart was packed 2 years ago. We pulled in about 2:00 am on Thursday morning and could not believe how many people were there and how many of them were up partying! All I could think was what the hell do these people think they are doing it's only Wed night. Don't plan on sleeping well if you stay there. But the positive is we had our camp set up by 8:30 a.m. and had a beer cracked and the grill going.
Last year we stayed at the Murfreesboro Wally world and it was quiet. Maybe only 7 other campers. We got up at 6:00 and were in our campsite by 9:00 am.

I think I may be staying @ the Knights Inn. I stayed there last year, and I filled up my Coolers All 3 of them with free Ice. I hope to crash at midnite so I can be well rested for the weekend, but I would totally be down to gettin my drink and something something on early on to pass out.

It should be a breeze if you get in line between7-9 am, Thats when I arrived last year, and I was a minute away from the hospitality tent, and two tents down from the medical tent. I waited less than an hour, and couldnt have got a better spot.
Does anyone have an idea on what time the music starts playing at Bonnaroo this year?
I am thinking we should be in Murfreesboro by about 11 or 12 midnight but that would be central time. We are flying down there in a minivan but not stopping much.

sounds good! i'll def be up with some cold ones! and some hot ones too!
This has been an interesting thread - with comments from those with experience and first timers. Just to mention that as the sun rises Thursday traffic to roo is at the will of the local authorities. Exits will be closed for MILES and MILES in certain directions and roo traffic will be channeled down any number of back roads. So, if you stay north or south of the local area, just understand that your morning route is subject to where they tell you to go.
Last year we stayed in Tullahoma (after stopping at the Walmart, because you just can't miss experiencing the Walmart parking lot). We were traveling north from Florida so Wlamart was on the way. Once off I-65 Tullahoma seemed to offer a nice entry into roo. we left the hotel about 8:30 AM and were set up by 10:30 in POD 3.
I don't know this for sure, but from the actual Manchester exit, it was anything but a direct route into roo in the morning. No matter what you do, it is fun. BUT, I'm recommending the Tullahoma hotels, which are only like 15 minutes from the roo grounds at normal travel times (including the night before roo).
I just booked a hotel in murfreesboro. Crestwood suites I believe. It was only like 60- something- $77 with fees and stuff. Full kitchen with stove and fridge. that will be my nice meal/shower/sleep for the weekend! hell yeah. anyone staying close to there?
I'm hanging on by the hair on my chinny chin chin. I'm hoping to use my Comfort Inn points that we've saved and saved up just for something like this type of road trip and for a little comfort treat before a weekend for our friends who are coming with us. the only problem with Choice Comfort Points is that you aren't able to book the room until 30 days prior to the stay. Oh well, its only a week or so away! I'll hold out until then.
I believe we will be staying at the Comfort Suites.
awww wish we were staying at the Walmart! Is there a Walmart in Murfreesboro?
I booked us in at the Econolodge! Confirmed and everything. So if and thats a big IF there are still hotels available next weekend to collect my points and use them, I'll cancel this booking. Hate to do that to Econolodge, but they are a huge corporation.
So! Booked in at 48 a night there in Murfreesboro! (Just so I don't end up sleeping on the side of the highway!)
Soulmate: If the Econolodge and Comfort Inn are on Thompson Ln (and I think they are) you'll be right across from the Walmart in M'boro. Of course there's nothing going on at that Walmart. Sascwatchis right down the road.
Maybe we could all caravan down together. I tentatively plan on heading out @ 6-6:30 and taking some backroads to avoid traffic. I'm still undecided on exactly how to get there and which exit to use so as to best avoid BFE.

im staying at the knights inn in m-boro. is it near these 2 hotels?? near the w-mart?
The Knight's Inn is at the next exit (#81A, I think). The others are at Exit#78. You are at a less busy exit. Exit 78 is the most congested area in M'boro. You'll have an easier time getting on and off the Interstate.
You're welcome to join the caravan if one materializes.
I personally like to get there and set up before it gets too hot. Plan on AT LEAST 2 hours from when you hit the interstate to when you park. I'm not dead set on anything yet so...
Ahh I just booked the hotel which was cheapie. I can't be bothered trying to find out the logistics coming in or out because I'm just not from the area! Next year I'll be a veteran at that stuff! When it comes to festies, I take them pretty serious and remember everything that happens and what you need and don't need. Woohoo
I posted a picture on another thread ummm........ Sheesh can't remember what it was. Everyone posting pics of what they look like!

As for Wed, I'd love a little pre-roo party!
Are you thinking hotel pre-party, or maybe the Square? The Square could be cool for out-of-towners...Liquid Smoke or the Bluesboro or something...

heheheee
The beans and rice in Jamaica are soooo good - not at all like red beans and rice from Louisiana. I found out that they cook the rice in coconut milk in Jamaica - that is why it is a little sweet with the kick of the hot sauce

Off topic, but I have a story about Jamaica.
I went to Jamaica in 1993 with a youth group to do some work on a camp we were staying at. The entire week we kept hearing this goat across the street...it was very loud and kept waking us up at night. During the course of the week, we began to hate this goat because it would not shutup. Well, one day we notice the goat was being very quiet, and as happy as that made us, no one thought a thing of it until we sit down at the dinner table that night. We asked what we are having to eat, and they announce proudly, "we're having goat!"
Hmmmmmmmmmmm..........me thinks me know what happened. (Plus, we were all 16 or under at the time, so this mortified us!)
