Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I guess I'll just fucking eat dinner alone!! Assholes.
All this talk about dinner at Bonnaroo...do most people actually take time out to eat full meals every day? I prefer one meal at camp before heading in, then snacking mostly. Maybe grabbing a smoothie and a warm snack once during the day, but mostly just snacks. Getting warm in the sun makes me not very hungry, then once the sun goes down, i'm onto other things - food is no longer on my radar haha.
I usually don't even end up averaging 1 meal/day, I just drink lots of sweet tea

Most festivals I go to, I snack, eat light cold stuff. I'm thinking it's going to just like what you said. Breakfast at camp then light eating/snacking. I guess time will only prove/disprove this theory.

I eat a lot at bonnaroo. All vendor food. Doughnuts and ice cream and sandwiches. I'm a total pig. It's pretty awesome.

Food like that just makes me feel too sluggish for a music festival, where I want to feel sprightly and ready to bound 2 and fro as I please.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

You have to get the right balance of doughnuts, ice cream, and cheese it feels like you got eight hours sleep and have been working out daily for your whole life and you're 19 years old with a perfect body.
Alabama Shakes vs Ben Folds hurts (who the heck put Ben Folds in a tent anyways?). Oh well, I'll probably pick Ben because, seeing as the Shakes are big right now, I'll probably have another chance to see them in the not too distant future. Also Ben has ben on my "to see" list for quite some time.
Here's a conflict I'm having some troubles with.
Madisen Ward & The Mama Bear--->Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn
OR
Hiss Golden Messanger
I noticed Hiss Golden Messenger doesn't have a lot of adds on the app. They're lower than some of the café adds! Not sure if low attendance would mean a better (spot-wise) or worse (atmosphere-wise) show?

I think that yMusic set is going to be really good. I also want to see Tears For Fears during that time slot. I'm probably just going to wait at What for Kendrick after Shakes.

Hiss Golden Messenger. I could be wrong, but I think their show will kick absolute ass with a more intimate feel created by the smaller crowd.
Also, more people will show up to them than those adds indicate. They're a relative unknown so I would expect many people to add them as they explore artists to see on Thursday.

My friends said the YMusic set at Bowery Ballroom was awesome. I'm seeing him at Town Hall on Thursday, so I'll be at the full Shakes set. I love that Shakes > Tears for Fears > Ben Harper run (sorry Kendrick.)

Ok. First, please don't torch me for this, I just feel it should be noted for my conflict... I do not like the Alabama shakes. However, I hear nothing but great things about their live show and Brittany was awesome in the rock n soul superjam. So my issue is I really want to see tears for fears, but I also would love a good spot for Kendrick. Seems like I probably can't do both. Should I try and check out some of tears for fears or am I pretty much not gonna get a good spot for Kendrick if I see them. And if that's the case should I just enjoy tears for fears and just do my best with Kendrick or just bite the bullet and skip tears for fears and try to let the shakes performance change my opinion on them and have a good spot for Kendrick?

My vote is for you to see Tears for Fears (as I will be doing) because it's pretty rare to get to see them and they're quite old. BUT, Kendrick is quite young and will be doing shows for many more years. Plus, you'll eventually get to see him do huge, long headlining shows like Kanye, Jay-Z, and others like that. So don't stress about not having a great spot for him now. Just get as good of a spot as possible after tears for fears and have a great time!
My dad is in a band that's in the Road to Roo competition. If he gets in....that's going to be really awkward if something I want to see conflicts with my own dad. Possible conflicts include my dad vs King Gizzard (that would kinda suck) my dad vs Tears For Fears/ruining my chances of getting the Kendrick pit (worst case scenario) and my dad vs me seeing Jeff Ross and Ralphie May (best case scenario...and I still might be able to do both)

So you're saying you're rooting against your dad then, right?

Thanks Fore! I think that's good advice. That's definitely how I'm leaning. The big pull for Kendrick is I feel like with how big he is right now the crowd up close for him will be nuts. But I really don't want to pass up tears for fears, I've been so excited to see them since the lineup drop. And I can hopefully get a good spot because I'm not interested in anything between unknown mortal orchestra and them. Maybe I'll see you there!

Hey dad I know this is, and probably will be the coolest show you'll ever play. But Kendrick needs me in that pit.....soooo maybe next year?

No problem man. I completely agree about how awesome Kendrick's crowd will be, but it's just that I'm sure he will eventually be back to do a true headlining set once he has an album or two more under his belt (because this hour and fifteen minute set time is ridiculous to me) But Tears for Fears is never going to play Roo again and it's quite possible you'll never get a chance to see them anywhere else. I'm gonna catch the beginning of Ben Folds and then go to all of TfF before sprinting to Kendrick, hope to see you there!!

Probably better off just subtly tearing down his self-esteem so he doesn't even want to play.
hahahahaha That is great. Seriously, that is what you need to do. Who wants parents ruining their festival experience just because they have a gig there? Pfft.

I think it's pretty cool your Dad is in a band that may be playing roo. If he makes it, you should see at least catch a few songs of his set. That Kendrick pit will still be there.

the set time in question would be from 8:30-9:15, do you think I could still make it?
