This exact conflict is a REALLY hard for me too. But, I just can't justify missing two kickass shows. Jon Cleary is going to be arguably the most soulful performance of the whole festival
the set time in question would be from 8:30-9:15, do you think I could still make it?
Absofuckinglutely.
This answer has created another conflict. If I have the opportunity to, should I still see Tears For Fears? Say if I stayed from 8:30-9:15? Kendrick does have a lot of people going to see him. I don't know how many people line up for the pit though. My first year (2013) I didn't know about the pit line, so I just sorta danced my way to the front during Macklemore, and got in at the last second. I remember the security saying nobody else was going to make it in....and I was one of the last people to make it in. Then last year I saw NMH and had to be way in the back for Kanye. So with those two experiences...I don't know what to expect.

You are over thinking this. Don't worry about it till he gets a spot and you know the time.

I'm confused, I thought this was settled. We're rooting against your dad.

This was kind of unrelated. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make things so confusing. This is just a question about Tears For Fears and making it to the Kendrick pit. Because Tears For Fears would be playing that same exact set time, so if I could make it from theoretically my dad playing the Miller Lite stage to the Kendrick pit, could I do the same for TFF. But I don't think I should care too much. If he plays, then I'll figure out. If he doesn't I'm sticking to my original plan of missing TFF for the Kendrick pit

has anyone seen the Atomic Bomb Band before?
I was figuring MMJ would probably hit my city sometime this year so i didn't feel as bad skipping them but they just announced dates today and they are annoyingly skipping Houston despite coming through Texas (hate hate hate when bands do that, they played here last go around :/) I also didn't mind missing a 90 min set as much but they just got extended to a 2 hour set so thats nice (still not the marathon set i want but its better)
I have seen MMJ twice, but the last time was 4 years ago and i do love them live. But I'm not sure I'll ever get to see Atomic Bomb Band again and I like the William Onyeabor songs quite a lot. This conflict got a bit harder.
One thing in favor of Atomic Bomb is that I can still see the last hour of MMJ (and maybe even leave a bit earlier if im not feeling it) but I'm not gonna have a good spot for MMJ or anything if i do that

I'm doing Atomic Bomb and running over to MMJ once they finish. So that's my vote for ya. You're almost certainly never gonna get another chance to see Atomic Bomb again. And worst case scenario, you don't really dig Atomic Bomb's show and just leave and go catch what's left of MMJ (but I really doubt that will happen) But, if it does happen, it's not like MMJ won't be good from a little further away. If anything, it'll just give you some room to groove as you admire Jim's cape from afar

This is what I'm doing as well. Schedule changes really helped out.

Yeah, this is the one thing that I really like about the change (Also, RTJ got extended to an hour but it's bitter sweet because RTJ -> FlyLo was going to amazing)

To be honest, I'm sorta happy that RTJ > FlyLo is no longer happening because I was semi-dreading camping in the the tent in between the sets. Usually its a good thing that you get back to back LN in the same tent (and yeah RTJ>FlyLo would have been incredible), but I feel like I might be absolutely exhausted after RTJ and need to get out of the tent and just take a sit down break for a few minutes.
That 45 minute wait in between RTJ and FlyLo might have been a sweaty, stuffy ordeal in a really packed tent. Now getting to walk around and see some of EWF and take a breath seems like a good alternative. We're still gonna get to see all of both RTJ and FlyLo. Also glad that RTJ got moved to biggest tent. I get what your saying though, RTJ and FlyLo were meant to be in LN tent together.

Oh yeah, you and I see completely eye to eye on the topic. I've accepted the new scheduling but I'm really just hoping that FlyLo plays past his set time because an hour and fifteen is not enough. He's closing the tent so there's definitely the opportunity for him going as long as he desires. But, we shall see

Can somebody tell me if I really won't be able to see Atomic Bomb! again? Do they like really never tour or are definitely not touring anymore after this? Now that MMJ is 2 hours, it seems much more worth it to go pit for Jacket.

I feel pretty confident that he'll play for at least 90 minutes. Although, it is extremely strange to shorten his set when he became the only LN act in the Other Tent that night. Why not just give him 2 hrs, like they gave STS9, if he really has that tent all to himself that night? Roo has made several head scratching decisions regarding their set lengths this year.

This is what you get when you hire interns to create a schedule. I understand learning on the job, but at the same time someone from above should step in and say it needs some corrections.
Jungle vs. Mac DeMarco remains my biggest conflict. Any opinions from those who have seen both live? Neither will be touring near me soon after Roo from what I've seen.

This is my biggest conflict as well. I am leaning Mac, but I know my groop will be at Jungle. It may be a game time decision.

War on Drugs and part of Jamie XX or all of Jamie XX?
I would say all of Jamie XX if you can catch the War on Drugs somewhere else. Because the War on Drugs only having an hour is silly. They played right at or a little over two when I saw them last year.
